About bathroom resealing in Buckinghamshire
A reseal only lasts if the joint is properly prepared. Every bit of old silicone comes out, down to the thin film left on the tiles, then the joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould. Only once it’s dry does the new bead go on. We’re often asked to deal with mouldy sealant that has gone black and water getting behind the bath panel, on shower trays & enclosures, wet rooms and basins & vanity units.
We bring everything the job needs with us. Once we’ve agreed what’s being done, the area is protected and the work begins. Most jobs take around two hours for one bath or shower, longer for a whole bathroom.
- We look at every joint first and check for movement or leaks.
- Every trace of the old bead is removed, including the thin smear on the tiles.
- Joints are degreased and any mould is treated.
- When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
- The bead is tooled smooth and you are told the cure time, generally around 24 hours.
What you’ll pay
No two jobs are quite the same, so we quote each one individually. Size, access and the product the joint needs all make a difference.

Near you in Aylesbury
We work in homes and buildings around Buckinghamshire UTC, Stocklake Park Community School and The Derby Arms Public House and the streets around them. You’ll also find Bearbrook Combined School (0.5 miles west) and Church of St Mary (less than half a mile north). Aylesbury has its own railway station: Aylesbury station. Well-known places in the area include Roald Dahl Children's Gallery (within half a mile east) and Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital (within half a mile north). Open spaces near Aylesbury include Coombe Hill.
Where we work in Buckinghamshire
Across Buckinghamshire, from Aylesbury, High Wycombe and Chesham outwards, we see bathrooms and kitchens of every age. Sealant and grout wear out in all of them, whether it’s a family bathroom, a rented flat or a hotel en suite.
Hard water across most of the South East leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings. Whatever the job in Buckinghamshire, surfaces are cleaned back properly before new sealant goes in.
Aylesbury: If you let a flat or house near Aylesbury station, a reseal between tenants is a quick way to make the bathroom and kitchen look cared for. If you look after a building such as Buckinghamshire UTC, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.
What affects the quote in Buckinghamshire
You’ll get a clear quote before work begins. It’s based on:
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
- The old material and how stubborn it is
- The size of the job
- Working hours on commercial sites
Some things make a job bigger or smaller: how much old sealant there is and how stubborn it is, any mould to treat, and whether the work is at height. We take all of that into account in your quote.
Helping us quote
To help us quote quickly, let us know:
- The address or postcode of the job
- Pictures of the joints, sent by email
- How we’d reach the joints
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
Every job is quoted individually. Simply phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and describe the job.
Should I try it myself first?
The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. New silicone won’t bond to old, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. Everything old must be removed first.
Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
What we are called out for in Buckinghamshire
With age, silicone loses its stretch. In kitchens it often shrinks away from the back edge, leaving a thin gap where water and food collect. Hot pans and harsh cleaners do not help.
Look out for any of the following:
- Failed sealant on the screen profile
- Splits where the tray meets the wall
- Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop
- Mouldy sealant that has gone black
Surface by surface
Kitchen worktops & upstands
The joint between worktop and wall takes splashes, crumbs and cleaning sprays. We seal them in a colour that suits the worktop.
Sinks & splashbacks
The edge of an inset sink is a common place for water to get under the worktop. We reseal the visible edge of the sink where it has failed.
Work for landlords, hotels and businesses
We also work for businesses, from offices to washrooms and kitchens. For commercial premises, we can talk through working times when we quote.
Letting agents and landlords in Buckinghamshire can book us as well as householders. Resealing between tenancies is a simple way to keep a property in good order before the next move-in.
Common questions in Buckinghamshire
How long before the new sealant can get wet?
After around 24 hours in most cases. We’ll tell you the cure time for the product we used.
What sealant do you use?
It depends on the joint: sanitary silicone where it gets wet, and sealants suited to movement or weather elsewhere. Brands we use include Arbo and Everbuild.
Are you an approved applicator?
Yes. We hold ARBOMaster approved applicator status, and we’re fully insured.
Will it make a mess?
Very little: the area around the joints is protected first, and we tidy up before we go.
Where do you work from?
We are based in Crawley, West Sussex, and we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. Full insurance covers our work.
What do you need from me for a quote?
Let us know what needs doing and where. We’ll ask anything else we need to know.
