Bathroom resealing in Water Stratford

Different surfaces, different methods

Sinks & splashbacks

Splashbacks in glass, tile or acrylic meet the worktop in a long joint. It’s resealed in white, clear or a colour to suit.

Kitchen worktops & upstands

The joint between worktop and wall takes splashes, crumbs and cleaning sprays. We seal them in a colour that suits the worktop, so the line does not stand out.

Bathroom resealing in Water Stratford

With over 20 years in the trade, we reseal baths, showers and kitchens in homes across Water Stratford. We’re ARBOMaster approved and fully insured, and the work comes with a 12-month guarantee. If you are dealing with smears of silicone across the tiles and water getting behind the kitchen upstand, we can put it right.

Around Water Stratford, it’s houses and cottages rather than flats, some with bathrooms tucked into older rooms or extensions. Sealant and grout wear out here just as they do anywhere: old material cut out, joints cleaned and a fresh finish laid.

You are covered for a year from the day we finish. If there’s a problem with it, please call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.

Why act early in Water Stratford

Dealing with sealant early is a short job: the work takes around two hours for one bath or shower, longer for a whole bathroom. Left until water gets through, the job can grow to lifting panels, drying out and decorating. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like Water Stratford, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.

A failed joint rarely gets cheaper to fix by waiting, as water and mould keep getting in. If you’re not sure whether it needs doing, phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and we will give you an honest view and a quote.

Water Stratford questions

Do you cover Water Stratford for bathroom resealing?

Is there a guarantee on bathroom resealing in Water Stratford?

All our work, in Water Stratford and everywhere else, comes with a 12-month guarantee. We are fully insured, and an ARBOMaster approved applicator.

Can I choose the colour of the sealant?

White and clear are the most common choices, but other colours can be used to suit tiles and worktops. Let us know your preference when you ask for a quote.

What do you put in the joint?

The product depends on the job: sanitary silicone where it gets wet, and sealants suited to movement or weather elsewhere. Brands we use include Arbo and Everbuild.

Do you hold any approvals?

Yes. Mr Mastic is an ARBOMaster approved applicator, and we’re fully insured.

Will you leave a mess?

No. We work neatly, protect the area around the joints and tidy up afterwards.

Do you have insurance?

Yes. Full insurance covers our work, and we can confirm the details when we quote.

What do you need from me for a quote?

Where the job is, what the problem is and roughly how big it is. Photos by email help too.

What happens on the day

Once we’re on site, we compare the joints with what we discussed. If we find something unexpected, we talk it through with you first. After that, the work takes a morning or an afternoon for most single baths and showers. For a village or hamlet like Water Stratford, the journey is planned in advance: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.

  1. We look at every joint first and check for movement or leaks.
  2. The old silicone is cut out completely, along with the film it leaves on the tiles.
  3. Joints are degreased and any mould is treated.
  4. With the joint dry, and any bath loaded with water, a single bead of anti-fungal silicone is applied.
  5. We tool the bead to a neat finish and give you the cure time, generally around 24 hours.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any tricky access
  • Tell us about any previous sealing or DIY attempts
  • Let us know about parking restrictions

Advice

What sealant work cannot fix

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • Loose or hollow tiles, or failed tanking behind them
  • A tray or bath that’s cracked through
  • Water getting in through the grout rather than the sealant

Not sure which it is? You can ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

What we seal

  • Kitchen worktops & upstands
  • Sinks & splashbacks
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures

Looking after it afterwards

A little care helps the new joints last. Our advice:

  • Keep scourers and sharp tools away from the bead
  • Don’t leave water standing on kitchen joints
  • Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
  • Squeegee the walls and tray after use

Clean the silicone with care: warm soapy water and a soft cloth do the job. Avoid scouring pads and anything sharp, because a damaged bead gives mould a foothold.

A failed kitchen joint is easy to miss. Splashes run behind the back edge and soak into the worktop, and the board underneath can swell. A reseal in time can save the worktop.

Should I try it myself first?

If you’ve already had a go yourself, that’s fine. We cut it out and start again, so just mention it when you contact us.

Not every job suits DIY: work at height, external movement joints, fire-rated sealant and large areas call for the right materials, safe access and experience.

Signs you need bathroom resealing in Water Stratford

Mould is the reason many people want their sealant replaced. Bathrooms without good ventilation give mould all the damp it needs, and once it has grown into the bead, cleaning rarely gets it out.

If you can see any of these, it’s time to have the joints looked at:

  • Gaps between the worktop and the wall
  • Failed sealant on the screen profile
  • Cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone
  • New sealant laid over old sealant that is now lifting

In the older streets around Church of St Giles, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first.

What to look for in a quote

  • How long to leave it before use
  • What guarantee comes with the work
  • Which colour the sealant will be
  • What preparation is included
