Bathroom resealing for homes and businesses in Bellingdon
It is not only bathrooms. Worktop upstands, sink edges and splashback joints all take splashes every day, and water that gets into the back edge of a worktop can swell the board. We reseal them with a kitchen-suitable silicone, matched to the worktop where it’s on show. If you have mouldy sealant that has gone black and a messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal, we can put it right, on basins & vanity units, sinks & splashbacks and baths alike.
Being in a small place like Bellingdon makes no difference to the job itself: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. Once we are there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.

Quotes for bathroom resealing in Bellingdon
We quote each job individually. These are the things that affect it:
- The number and length of the joints
- Which sealant suits the joint
- The number of rooms or windows
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
There are no prices on our website, because the cost depends so much on the job itself. For a quick quote, please phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
What to tell us for a quote
You do not need to know the technical terms. It helps if you can tell us:
- Roughly how big the job is
- The type of property
- The problem you’ve noticed
- A few pictures by email, if you can

How the visit works
Once we are on site, we compare the joints with what we discussed. If anything is different, we explain it before carrying on. After that, the work takes two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is. In a small place like Bellingdon, access is normally the main thing to plan. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- We start by protecting the area and stripping out the old bead.
- The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
- We let it dry fully and fill the bath with water before sealing.
- New anti-fungal silicone goes on in a colour to suit and is tooled to a clean finish.
- Finally we tidy up and explain the cure time before we leave.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention if the joints have been sealed before
- Clear the area around the work
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules
How to get a quote
The more we know about the job, the more useful the quote. Let us know the location, the problem and roughly how many joints.

How to look after the new joints
So the new joints stay in good condition:
- Stick to a soft cloth and a mild cleaner
- Dry the bead with a towel now and then
- Never pick at the silicone with a blade
- Open a window or run the fan so the room dries
Wipe up standing water along the worktop joint and keep hot pans off the bead. A dry joint lasts longer.
A few black dots in the silicone soon become a black line. Once it’s deep in the silicone, cleaning usually will not remove it. Catching it early keeps it a simple reseal.
What bathroom resealing looks like in Bellingdon
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings.
For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Hawridge and Cholesbury Church of England School, its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s. For an older house near a landmark such as St John's Church, bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant.
Bellingdon is about 2 miles north-west of Chesham, in Buckinghamshire. Jobs in Bellingdon get the same care as everywhere else we work: old sealant removed completely, careful preparation and a 12-month guarantee. 263 places in Buckinghamshire are on our list. For nearby work, see our Reading page.

What sealant work can’t fix
It helps to know what we can’t do too:
- Loose or hollow tiles, or failed tanking behind them
- A tray that rocks until it’s re-bedded
- Cracked or missing grout between tiles (that’s regrouting)
Not sure which it is? You can call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will tell you honestly before you book.
Joints and surfaces we work on
- Kitchen worktops & upstands
- Baths
- Wet rooms
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Basins & vanity units
- Sinks & splashbacks
Leave it or put it right?
Leaving a split or mouldy bead only stores up trouble. Water that gets behind a bath soaks into the floor, the panel and sometimes the ceiling below, turning a small job into a building repair. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like Bellingdon, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
Rather than a set price list, we look at what your job involves: how many joints, what’s in them now and how we reach them. You’ll know the price before we begin.
Why book with us
- One-year guarantee on every job
- Neat joints and a tidy finish
- You choose the colour before work begins
- Old sealant always removed completely
What the job involves on each surface
Kitchen worktops & upstands
The joint between worktop and wall takes splashes, crumbs and cleaning sprays. We seal them in a colour that suits the worktop, so the line doesn’t stand out.
Wet rooms
Wet rooms rely on sound joints at floor and wall junctions. They’re resealed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone, and our work is on the visible joints only.
Common problems we fix in Bellingdon
Sealing over old silicone is one of the commonest mistakes we find. Fresh silicone cannot grip the old bead underneath, so it lifts, lets water in and traps mould underneath.
The problems people usually mention when they call are:
- Cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone
- A reseal done over the top of the old bead
- Black mould in the silicone that will not clean off
- Splits where the tray meets the wall
If you let a flat or house near Berkhamsted station, fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay.
Questions to ask before you book
- Whether the sealant suits the joint
- Who turns up on the day
- What preparation is included
- Whether all the old sealant comes out first
