Bathroom resealing in Great Kingshill, done properly
We fill the bath before sealing it. A full bath sits slightly lower than an empty one, so the new joint is not pulled apart the first time it’s used. Quick jobs often leave it out, and it makes a real difference. If you are dealing with a bead that has pulled away from the tiles and gaps where the bath or tray has moved, we can help, whatever the surface.
For a small place like Great Kingshill, bathroom resealing is planned like any other job: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with our work within the year, let us know and we will sort it.

Can I do it myself?
Not every job suits DIY: work at height, external movement joints, fire-rated sealant and large areas need the right product, the right access and the right method.
If you’re set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still put it right.
Questions from Great Kingshill
Do you work for landlords with property near Great Missenden station?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with the address and a few details, and we will give you a fixed price before work begins.
Do you cover smaller places like Great Kingshill?
Yes, we do. Our work covers London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.
Can you do several jobs on one visit?
Yes. Just list everything you need and we will quote it together.
How long does a bath or shower reseal take?
Allow around two hours for one bath or shower, longer for a whole bathroom. We will confirm how long your job needs when we quote.
My sealant has gone black. Can you sort it?
Yes. Once mould has grown into the silicone, it generally cannot be cleaned out for good, so we cut it out, treat the joint and reseal with anti-fungal silicone.
What sealant do you use?
Quality sealants from brands including Arbo and Everbuild, chosen to suit the joint. We will tell you what we are using and why.
Will it make a mess?
We keep the work tidy. We protect what’s around the joints, and we clear up when we are done.
When can I use the bath or shower again?
After around 24 hours in most cases. You will get the exact cure time before we leave.
Bathrooms and kitchens in Great Kingshill
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
If you let a flat or house near Great Missenden station, mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets. Homes close to Church of the Good Shepherd include some older properties, and bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant.

What we’re called out for in Great Kingshill
Sealing over old silicone is one of the commonest mistakes we find. Fresh silicone cannot grip the old bead underneath, so it lifts, lets water in and traps mould underneath.
Any of these means the joints need attention:
- Cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone
- Black mould in the silicone that won’t clean off
- Lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt
- Splits where the tray meets the wall
Schools such as Great Kingshill Church of England Combined School are buildings too, and we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.
What to look for in a quote
- What insurance they hold
- How the joint is cleaned and prepared
- Is the old sealant removed completely?
- How the colour is chosen
What we do, step by step
At the end, we look at the finished work together. The work normally takes a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen, depending on the amount of work. Somewhere as small as Great Kingshill, access is often the only tricky part. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.
- Protection goes down around the bath, shower or worktop.
- We cut away the old sealant and clean off what’s left.
- Mould is treated, then the joint is left to dry thoroughly.
- Any bath is filled with water, then we lay a bead of anti-fungal silicone in white, clear or a matching colour.
- We finish the joint, clear up and tell you how long to leave it before it gets wet.
How to prepare
- Let us know about earlier repairs to the joints
- Let us know about stairs, lifts or work at height
- Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks

- Loose or hollow tiles, or failed tanking behind them
- Failed grout lines across the wall
If you’re not sure, just ring 0345 464 0079 or email us and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Landlord and commercial work in Great Kingshill
In hotels, rooms out of use cost money, so the work can be planned room by room around your bookings where we can. We’ve worked in hotels as well as homes and businesses.
A neglected joint can let water reach the structure, which matters even more when someone else lives there. Resealing at the right time is simple maintenance that we can handle for you.
Why act early in Great Kingshill
Fresh sealant smartens a bathroom or kitchen with very little disruption, which helps when a home is being let or put on the market. A smeared, uneven DIY bead does the opposite, and it’s harder to put right later. In a small place like Great Kingshill, homes can be exposed to wind and rain, which finds any gap, and older walls, once damp, take a long time to dry.
The cost depends on the size of the job, how much old material has to come out and access to the work. We give a clear quote before we start, so you know where you stand.

Keeping the joints in good condition
To keep the joints looking good and working properly:
- Wait for the cure time we give you
- Stick to a soft cloth and a mild cleaner
- Dry the bead with a towel now and then
- Never pick at the silicone with a blade
Do not stand bottles along the bead, as they hold water against it. A quick squeegee after showering keeps water from sitting on the joint.
A split bead lets water through every time the bath or shower is used. Over time that water reaches floors, walls and ceilings. Resealing early stops it.
