Our bathroom resealing service in CR0
A bead that has gone black, split or come away shouldn’t be left until there’s a leak. Just call 0345 464 0079 or email us with a photo of the joints, and you’ll get a clear quote before any work starts. We work on shower trays & enclosures, sinks & splashbacks and wet rooms, and common reasons people get in touch are shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop and a messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal.
Every visit runs the same way: we check the joints, mask and protect the surrounding surfaces, carry out the job and clear up. It generally takes around two hours for one bath or shower, longer for a whole bathroom.
- We look at every joint first and check for movement or leaks.
- Every trace of the old bead is removed, including the thin smear on the tiles.
- Joints are degreased and any mould is treated.
- When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
- We tool the bead to a neat finish and give you the cure time, normally around 24 hours.
How we quote

- A 12-month guarantee on all work

Bathroom resealing across CR0: local notes
Our bathroom resealing work across CR0 covers homes, rentals and businesses, in London, Croydon and Broad Green and well beyond. The method is the same everywhere: old material cut out, joints cleaned and dried, and a fresh finish laid.
The South East is one of the drier parts of the UK, but outdoor sealant still needs a dry day and clean surfaces, so outside work in CR0 is planned around the forecast.
London: For an older house near a landmark such as St George the Martyr, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first. If you look after a building such as Charles Dickens Primary School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.
When it is not the sealant
We will not take on work that will not last, so here’s what sealant cannot put right:
- A cracked shower tray or bath (that needs repair or replacement)
- Failed grout lines across the wall
- Movement from a bath with loose feet or no proper support
How the job changes by surface
Shower trays & enclosures
There are normally two jobs in a shower: the tray-to-wall joint and the enclosure joints. Both get soaked every time the shower runs, so both are resealed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.
Wet rooms
Wet rooms rely on sound joints at floor and wall junctions. They’re resealed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone, and our work is on the visible joints only.
Keeping the joints in good condition
To keep the joints looking good and working properly:
- Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
- Squeegee the walls and tray after use
- Look for lifting corners and small gaps now and then
- Clean with a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth
Keep water off the new bead until it has cured, which is usually around 24 hours. After that, a quick wipe after showering helps keep it clean.
Do not wait for a refit to deal with failed sealant. Sealant is a maintenance item, like the paint on a window frame, and renewing it as soon as it fails protects everything around it.
What we are called out for in CR0
Black mould is behind a lot of resealing. Steamy rooms that don’t dry out keep the silicone damp for hours, and mould that has grown into the silicone generally won’t clean off.
It’s worth asking for a quote if you see:
- A reseal done over the top of the old bead
- A bead that has pulled away from the tiles
- Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop
- Lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt
DIY sealant or a professional job?
The difference is mostly in the preparation and the product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is matched to the joint and its conditions, and the work is guaranteed for a year.
The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. Silicone does not stick to old silicone, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. All the old material has to come out first.
Questions from CR0
How long will the resealing take?
A single bath or shower takes about a couple of hours, old sealant removal included. A whole bathroom plus the kitchen may take most of the day.
Do you remove the old sealant?
Yes. All of the old material is cut out and the joint cleaned.
Can tenants book the work?
Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. We’re fully insured.
Can you get rid of the black mould in my sealant?
Yes, by replacing the sealant. Cleaning products may lighten it, but the lasting fix is new anti-fungal silicone on a clean, treated joint. Airing the room well helps stop it returning.
Can you work on commercial sites?
Yes. We work in offices, washrooms, hotels and other commercial premises. We can talk about working times when we quote.
What information do you need?
Tell us what needs doing and where. We will ask anything else we need to know.
