Our bathroom resealing service in SE16

A reseal only lasts if the joint is properly prepared. The old sealant is removed to the last smear, after which the joint is degreased and any mould treated. Only once it’s dry does the new bead go on. Typical jobs include splits where the tray meets the wall and a bead that has pulled away from the tiles, across wet rooms, sinks & splashbacks and basins & vanity units.

When we arrive, we start by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. Surfaces next to the work are protected before any work begins. Most jobs take a couple of hours for a single bath or shower.

  1. Protection goes down around the bath, shower or worktop.
  2. We cut away the old sealant and clean off what’s left.
  3. Mould is treated, then the joint is left to dry thoroughly.
  4. Any bath is filled with water, then we lay a bead of anti-fungal silicone in white, clear or a matching colour.
  5. The joint is finished neatly and we explain when it can get wet.

Ask for a quote

For a quick quote, get us on the phone, or send an email if you’d rather. Describe what needs sealing and we will talk you through the work.

Around Rotherhithe

In Rotherhithe, that means homes and buildings near St Mellitus College, Alfred Salter Primary School and Holy Trinity Church. You’ll also find Bacon's College (within half a mile north), Russia Dock Woodland (within half a mile north-east) and The Ship York pub (within half a mile east). Rotherhithe has its own railway station: Canada Water station. A little further out are St Olave's Hospital (0.5 miles west) and Tower of London (1.6 miles north-west). Green spaces nearby include St. James's Park Lake and Tower Hill.

Where we work in SE16

Across SE16, from Bermondsey, Rotherhithe and Shadwell outwards, we see bathrooms and kitchens of every age. Sealant and grout wear out in all of them, whether it’s a family bathroom, a rented flat or a hotel en suite.

Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings. For any job in SE16, joints are cleaned back properly before anything new goes in.

Rotherhithe: Rotherhithe is in London, so parking needs planning: let us know about parking bays, permits or a driveway. Letting a property close to Canada Water station? Then fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay.

How we quote for bathroom resealing

We don’t publish a price list, because no two jobs are the same. What we look at:

  • Whether the work is at height
  • The number of rooms or windows
  • The old material and how stubborn it is
  • When we can work, for business premises

A few things move the cost up or down: the old material and how easily it comes out, whether mould needs treating, and whether the work is at height. Your quote takes all of that into account.

What to tell us for a quote

To make quoting easier, let us know:

  • What’s wrong with the joints now
  • Whether it’s a home or a business
  • Whether it has been sealed before
  • Roughly how big the job is

Quotes start with a quick conversation. Tell us what’s wrong, where it is and how much there is. Whenever you’re ready, call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.

What sealant work cannot fix

We’d rather tell you now than do work that will not last, so here’s what sealant can’t put right:

  • Water getting in through the grout rather than the sealant
  • A bath or tray that moves because it is not properly supported
  • Damage behind the tiles that needs a tiler

Different surfaces, different methods

Sinks & splashbacks

Splashbacks in glass, tile or acrylic meet the worktop in a long joint. It’s resealed in white, clear or a colour to suit.

Wet rooms

If a wet room leaks, the cause may be the tanking or the drain rather than the joints. We check the joints and say so if the fault looks to be elsewhere.

Why act early?

Bleach and mould sprays may lighten black marks for a while, but where mould is inside the silicone it usually comes back. Cutting it out and resealing with anti-fungal silicone is the fix that lasts.

Questions to ask before booking

  • What happens if the job turns out different
  • Whether they seal over old material or remove it
  • Are they insured?
  • What product goes in the joint

Work for landlords, hotels and businesses

Housing providers, facilities teams and property managers book us too in SE16 and across Greater London. Several sites can go on one quote, and we’re fully insured.

SE16: your questions answered

Is there any odour?

It depends on the product. Some smell for a while, some hardly at all.

Do I have to be there?

For indoor joints, yes, someone needs to let us in. Once we have agreed the job, you do not need to watch us work.

Does the resealing come with a guarantee?

Yes. Our one-year guarantee covers every job, and we are fully insured.

What do you need from me for a quote?

Only a few details: where it is, what you’ve noticed and how we reach it. Then ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.

Will the old sealant be removed?

Always. Sealing over old sealant is the main reason resealing fails early, and it’s something we never do.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Tell us about everything you’d like done.

Can you get rid of the black mould in my sealant?

Yes, we replace the mouldy bead. Cleaning products may lighten it, but the lasting fix is new anti-fungal silicone on a clean, treated joint. Airing the room well helps stop it returning.
