About bathroom resealing in SE15
With over 20 years in the trade, we reseal baths, showers and kitchens in homes across SE15. We are fully insured ARBOMaster approved applicators, and the work comes with a 12-month guarantee. Common call-outs are for splits where the tray meets the wall and leaking joints on a shower screen, across wet rooms, baths and basins & vanity units.
Before we leave, we go over the finished joints with you and explain the cure time. The visit itself generally takes around two hours for one bath or shower, longer for a whole bathroom, depending on the size of the job.
- We start by protecting the area and stripping out the old bead, including the film left on the tiles.
- Next, the joint is cleaned and any mould is treated.
- We let it dry fully and fill the bath with water before sealing.
- A single bead of anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied and tooled smooth.
- We tidy up and give you the cure time, normally around 24 hours.
What affects the price in SE15
No two jobs are quite the same, so we quote each one individually. Size, access and the product the joint needs all make a difference.

Bathroom resealing across SE15: local notes
Across SE15, from East Dulwich, Camberwell and Peckham outwards, we see bathrooms and kitchens of every age. Family bathrooms, rented flats and hotel en suites all need their sealant and grout renewing in time.
From Victorian terraces to post-war new towns and modern estates, homes across the South East and London cover every era. Each needs the right sealant for its age and materials, wherever it is in SE15.
Peckham: As a London address, Peckham can be tricky for parking: tell us about permits, visitor bays or off-street space when you book. For site and facilities teams at buildings such as John Donne Primary School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.
How to look after the new joints
After the cure time, these simple habits help:
- Give the silicone its full cure time
- Squeegee the walls and tray after use
- Run the extractor fan during and after every shower
- Move toiletries away from the joint
Do not stand bottles along the bead, as they hold water against it. A quick squeegee after showering keeps water from sitting on the joint.
A failed kitchen joint is easy to miss. Splashes run behind the back edge and soak into the worktop, and the board underneath can swell. Resealing before that happens protects the worktop.
What happens if it’s left?
The difference in a professional reseal is mostly what you don’t see: removing all the old sealant, degreasing the joint, treating mould and drying it properly. Skip those steps and even the best silicone fails early.
Questions to ask before booking
- What the cure time is
- Whether they seal over old material or remove it
- Is VAT in the price?
- Are they insured?
Different surfaces, different methods
Baths
Most bath leaks begin along the long edge, particularly where there’s a shower over the bath. We finish it with a single, even bead of anti-fungal silicone, tooled so water can’t sit on it.
Wet rooms
Wet rooms rely on sound joints at floor and wall junctions. They’re resealed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone, and our work is on the visible joints only.
DIY versus a professional finish
The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. Silicone doesn’t stick to old silicone, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. All the old material has to come out first.
What a professional job adds is preparation and the right product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is matched to the joint and its conditions.
What affects the quote in SE15
Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. The main factors:
- The size of the job
- Any working-time requirements on site
- Access and height
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
What you pay reflects the work, not a rough estimate. That’s why we ask a few questions first.
What to tell us for a quote
To make quoting easier, let us know:
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved

FAQs for SE15
Which products do you use?
Products from Arbo and Everbuild, among others, chosen to suit the joint. We explain the product when we quote.
Do you work in SE15?
Yes. From our base in Crawley, we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland, and that includes SE15.
Do you reseal kitchen worktops and sinks too?
Yes. Kitchen joints get extra degreasing before the new bead goes on, then a colour-matched bead is laid.
Can you work on commercial sites?
Yes, regularly. We can plan bigger jobs in stages to suit the site.
What does bathroom resealing cost?
Size, access and the old material all affect the cost. Call for a quick quote.
Can you get rid of the black mould in my sealant?
Yes. Once mould has grown into the silicone, it generally cannot be cleaned out for good, so the bead comes out, the joint is treated and new anti-fungal silicone goes in.
Will the old sealant be removed?
Always. Sealing over old sealant is the main reason resealing fails early, so we never do it.
