Our bathroom resealing service in CR9
Before a bath is sealed, it’s filled with water. A full bath sits slightly lower than an empty one, so the new joint isn’t pulled apart the first time it’s used. Quick jobs often leave it out, and it makes a real difference. We’re often asked to deal with two layers of silicone, both failing and a bead that has pulled away from the tiles, across shower trays & enclosures, baths and basins & vanity units.
On the day, we start by going over the job with you. Surfaces next to the work are protected before any work begins. The work generally takes a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen.
- We protect the area and cut out all of the old sealant.
- The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
- Once it’s dry, any bath is filled so the bead is laid with it at its heaviest.
- A single bead of anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied and tooled smooth.
- We clear away and tell you when it can get wet, usually after around 24 hours.
What affects the price in CR9
Some things make a job bigger or smaller: the old material and how easily it comes out, any mould to treat, and whether the work is at height. We take all of that into account in your quote.
What you get with us
- A 12-month guarantee on all work
- 20+ years of sealant experience
- An ARBOMaster approved applicator
- Colour agreed with you before work begins

Where we work in CR9
In CR9, bathroom resealing takes in flats, houses, rentals and businesses, in Croydon, Woodside and Ashburton and well beyond. The method is the same everywhere: old material cut out, joints cleaned and dried, and a fresh finish laid.
The South East is one of the drier parts of the UK, but outdoor sealant still needs a dry day and clean surfaces, so outside work in CR9 is planned around the forecast.
Croydon: For landlords with property near South Croydon station, fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay. If you live in an older home near St Andrew's, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first.
Can I do it myself?
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that’s fine. We remove it and do the joint properly.
If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: remove every trace of old sealant, clean and dry the joint, and follow the product’s cure time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still put it right.
Why it fails
Baths and trays move. An acrylic bath flexes under load, while a poorly supported tray can shift underfoot. That movement works at the bead until it splits or peels away.
Any of these means the joints need attention:
- Failed sealant on the screen profile
- Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop
- Sealant that has split, shrunk or peeled away
- Black mould in the silicone that will not clean off
Why deal with it now?
Sorting it now is quick: the work takes a morning or an afternoon for most single baths and showers. Wait for a leak and you may be looking at panels off, drying out and redecorating too.
What your quote should include
- What preparation is included
- Whether the sealant suits the joint
- What the quote includes, VAT included or not
- How hidden problems are handled
What affects the cost of bathroom resealing
Call for a quick quote. What matters most is:
- The number of rooms or windows
- How much there is to do
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
Commercial jobs are quoted on the same basis as homes: the amount of work, the access and the products needed, plus any working-time requirements on site. Ask us for a quote and we’ll explain what it covers.
What we need to know
Photos by email are helpful but not essential. Try to tell us:
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
- If someone has resealed it before
- A few photos by email, if you can
- The problem you’ve noticed
To get a quote, ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and tell us where the job is and what the problem looks like. We’ll give you a clear price before any work starts.
Landlords, agents and businesses in CR9
A neglected joint can let water reach the structure, which matters even more when someone else lives there. Keeping joints in good order is simple maintenance that we can handle for you.
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Tell us the address, the job and how access works.
Questions from CR9
Does someone need to be in?
Access is agreed with you when the job is booked. For inside work, that normally means someone being in.
Do you come to CR9?
Yes, we do. Our applicators work in CR9, and the service is the same as everywhere else.
Is white the only colour available?
We can use white, clear or a colour to suit. On a worktop we colour-match where the joint shows.
Can new silicone go straight over the old?
No. Sealing over the top looks fine for a few weeks, then lifts, because silicone does not bond to silicone. We remove the old bead completely before resealing.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes. We give a 12-month guarantee on every job, and we’re fully insured.
Can mouldy silicone be sorted out?
Yes, we replace the mouldy bead. Cleaning products may lighten it, but the lasting fix is new anti-fungal silicone on a clean, treated joint. Good ventilation helps keep it away.
Do you work for letting agents?
Yes, often. We can quote for several properties at once.
