Our regrouting service in Stirling
A bathroom with good tiles can still look worn if the grout has gone. With regrouting, the tiles stay and only the grout is renewed, so nothing is ripped out. We work on kitchen splashbacks, bathroom wall tiles and shower walls, and the jobs we see most are floor grout that won’t come clean and grout that makes sound tiles look old.
When we get to you, we compare the joints with what we discussed. If we find something unexpected, we talk it through with you first. Most jobs then take a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room.
- We agree the area to be regrouted and point out any loose tiles.
- We remove the old grout carefully.
- Dust is cleared from every joint.
- The new grout goes in, then the tile faces are cleaned.
- We renew the silicone at the corners and edges.
How we quote
Homes and businesses are quoted the same way: the amount of work, how we reach it and what it needs, plus any working-time requirements on site. Call for a quick quote and we will go through it with you.

What’s near Stirling
In Stirling, that means homes and buildings near Royal Gardens, Terraces Hotel and Allan Park South Church and the streets around them. Stirling has its own railway station: Stirling station. Nearby you will also find Stirling Health and Care Centre (0.6 miles south) and Thistles Centre (less than half a mile east). Green spaces nearby include Mote Hill and Airthrey Loch.
Where we work in Stirling
Across Stirling, from Dunblane, St. Ninians and Raploch outwards, we see bathrooms and kitchens of every age. Sealant and grout wear out in all of them, whether it’s a family bathroom, a rented flat or a hotel en suite.
Scottish weather is hard on outside joints, especially in the wetter west. Sealants for jobs in Stirling are chosen with that in mind. Stirling includes coastal places, where outside joints face more wind, rain and salt than they would inland. Joints on seaward walls tend to fail first.
Stirling: In the older streets around Allan Park South Church, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant. Rented homes near Stirling station change hands often, and a regrout while the flat is empty is quicker than working around a tenant.
Can I do it myself?
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone won’t bond to old, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. All the old material has to come out first.
A careful DIYer can reseal a simple joint, such as a straightforward joint indoors. The common mistakes are sealing over old sealant, sealing a damp joint and using far too much.
When it isn’t the sealant
We will always be straight with you, so here’s what new sealant will not do:
- A leaking wet room membrane
- Movement in a stud wall or floor
- Loose tiles, which need refixing first
Landlord and commercial work in Stirling
Letting agents often deal with us directly. Send the address, what’s needed and the access arrangements and we will quote.
Hotels need rooms back in use, so the work can be planned room by room. Hotel work is part of what we do, alongside homes and businesses.
Quotes for regrouting in Stirling
There’s no set price list. What we look at:
- When we can work, for business premises
- The amount of work
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
- The number of rooms or windows
We do not show prices on the website, because the cost depends so much on the job itself. For a quick quote, please drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we’ll talk you through it.
What we need to know
There’s no need for technical detail. It helps if you can tell us:
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
- A few pictures by email, if you can
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
- What’s wrong with the joints now
To get a quote, email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk with the location and a short description of the problem. You will have a clear quote before work begins.
Looking after it afterwards
How long the joints last depends on use and care. We suggest:
- Get any tile that moves checked promptly
- Clean grout with a mild bathroom cleaner
- Wipe water off the walls when you’re done
- Give the walls a quick rinse after use
Have any tile that moves checked straight away. Movement will crack the new grout and open a path for water.
Stains that won’t clean are a sign the grout is breaking down. Regrouting at this stage is straightforward while the tiles are still sound.
FAQs for Stirling
Can you work on commercial sites?
Yes. We work in offices, washrooms, hotels and other commercial premises. Working times can be discussed when we quote.
Can you change the grout colour?
Yes. Many customers do. A darker grout hides marks better, while lighter grout brightens a room.
How soon can the shower be used after regrouting?
Before we leave, we will tell you how long to wait. Both the grout and the silicone need time to cure before the shower is used.
What information do you need?
The location, the problem and the rough size of the job. Photos by email help too.
Do you cover Stirling?
Yes. We work in Stirling, as part of our work across South East England, London and Scotland. For a quote, drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk.
Should corners be grouted or sealed?
Corners get silicone, not grout. They flex, and grout there cracks.
Do you take out the old sealant first?
Yes. Sealing over old sealant is the main reason resealing fails early, and it’s something we never do.
