Wherever you are in Dundee, our applicators can help with regrouting. Clear quotes up front, and a one-year guarantee.

Need regrouting in Dundee?

Our regrouting service in Dundee

Regrouting suits shower walls, bathroom floors, kitchen splashbacks and wet rooms. Some jobs are a whole room, others just the shower. Whatever the size, the method stays the same. Typical jobs include grout that’s cracking and breaking up and grout washed out of a shower, on bathroom floors, wet rooms and shower walls.

When we get to you, we check the joints match what you told us. If anything is different, we explain it before carrying on. Most jobs then take a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room.

  1. First we agree what’s being done and flag any loose tiles.
  2. Grout is raked out without chipping the tiles.
  3. Dust is cleared from every joint.
  4. We grout the joints and wipe the tiles clean.
  5. Internal corners and edges are resealed.

What you’ll pay

Where we work in Dundee

Our regrouting work across Dundee covers homes, rentals and businesses, in Broughty Ferry, Stobswell and Monifieth and well beyond. The method is the same everywhere: old material cut out, joints cleaned and dried, and a fresh finish laid.

Homes in Scotland come with their own details: harled walls, sash and case windows and, in the larger towns and cities, tenements. We work across Scotland, including Dundee. Along the coast in Dundee, holiday lets and guest houses can have bathrooms in near-constant use, which is hard on sealant and grout.

Dundee: For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Scottish School of Contemporary Dance, its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s. If you let a flat or house near Dundee station, stained grout drags a rental down, and regrouting between lets puts that right.

Should I try it myself first?

If you’ve already had a go yourself, that’s fine. We cut it out and start again.

Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and doesn’t move well, and the joint depth matters as much as the finish.

Work for landlords, hotels and businesses

If you manage several properties in or around Dundee, jobs at different addresses can go on one quote. Just tell us the addresses and what each one needs.

Water getting past a failed joint can damage the building, which matters even more when someone else lives there. Keeping joints in good order is simple maintenance.

How we quote for regrouting

The quote reflects the job in front of us. We look at:

  • Working hours on commercial sites
  • The number of rooms or windows
  • Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
  • How much there is to do

Doing several joints on one visit normally makes better use of the time than several visits, so it’s worth mentioning everything you’d like done. We will send you a clear quote for the lot.

What to tell us for a quote

You do not need to know the technical terms. It helps if you can tell us:

  • A few photos by email, if you can
  • The type of property
  • Roughly how big the job is
  • If someone has resealed it before

For a quote, send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk with the location and a short description of the problem. We’ll give you a clear price before any work starts.

How the job changes by surface

Corners and edges

Internal corners move, so we seal them rather than grout them.

Shower walls

Most regrouting jobs include a shower. Cracked or missing grout here lets water behind the tiles.

Looking after it afterwards

Looking after new joints is easy:

  • Keep the fan on after showering
  • Use a squeegee on the tiles after showering
  • Keep harsh bleach and acid cleaners off the grout
  • Look at the sealant in the corners now and then

Clean the grout with a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft brush. Keep harsh bleach and acid limescale removers away from it, as they can break grout down.

Stains that won’t clean are a sign the grout is breaking down. Regrouting at this stage is straightforward while the tiles are still sound.

Dundee: your questions answered

Will regrouting fix loose tiles?

Loose tiles need refixing before regrouting. We’ll point them out at the start.

Can you work on commercial sites?

Yes. We can plan bigger jobs in stages.

Will it make a mess?

No. We work neatly, protect the area around the joints and tidy up afterwards.

How long should I wait before showering?

We give you a time before we leave. The wait depends on the products and conditions so please stick to it.

Can you regrout just the shower?

Yes. Many jobs are just the shower walls, or just the joints that have failed.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, we do. We work in homes, commercial premises and hotels.

Are you insured?

Yes. We’re fully insured.
