Should I try it myself first?

A careful DIYer can reseal a simple joint, such as a straightforward joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.

A failed coping joint lets water into the top of the wall. Resealing them is a small job that protects a lot.
Concrete and blockwork
Concrete and block walls shrink as they dry and move with temperature. We reseal their joints with backing rod and a flexible product.
Why deal with it now?
Sealing over the top of old mastic does not hold for long. The new layer can’t bond properly to old, weathered material, so we always take the old sealant out.
