Our bathroom resealing service in G71

A shower joint gets soaked every day. Tray edges, screen profiles and wet room joints all rely on silicone to stay watertight. Each gets a bead of anti-fungal sanitary silicone, tooled smooth so water runs off instead of sitting in a ridge. We work on baths, shower trays & enclosures and wet rooms, and the jobs we see most are a reseal done over the top of the old bead and water escaping at the shower enclosure.

Good joint work is mostly preparation, so that is where we spend the time. Every joint is cleaned and dried before new material goes in. In total, it usually takes a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen.

  1. Protection goes down around the bath, shower or worktop.
  2. Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
  3. We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
  4. Any bath is filled with water, then we lay a bead of anti-fungal silicone in white, clear or a matching colour.
  5. The joint is finished neatly and we explain when it can get wet.

How we quote

No two jobs are quite the same, so we quote each one individually. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all make a difference, and we’ll explain the quote if you ask.

Why book with us

  • Old sealant always removed completely
  • ARBOMaster approved applicator
  • White, clear, grey or another colour, product permitting
  • More than 20 years in sealant work

How to get a quote

There’s no standard price list, as no two jobs are quite the same. Instead, we give you a clear quote for your job. To arrange one, email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk.

Where we work in G71

G71 has homes of every age, old and new, and in places like Uddingston, Bellshill and Bothwell there’s plenty of rented property too. Bathroom resealing keeps bathrooms and kitchens watertight and looking cared for.

Our work covers the whole of Scotland, G71 included. Journeys are planned ahead, and outside jobs are booked around the forecast.

Uddingston: For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Uddingston Grammar School, its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s. Letting a property close to Uddingston station? Then fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay.

What sealant work can’t fix

To be straight with you, some problems need a different trade:

  • Loose or hollow tiles, or failed tanking behind them
  • A leaking waste, trap or valve
  • Failed grout lines across the wall

Work for landlords, hotels and businesses

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Tell us the address, the job and how access works and we’ll quote.

Mouldy or split sealant often shows up at the end of a tenancy, and it’s easy to sort out between tenants. We can quote for more than one property at once.

How the job changes by surface

Shower trays & enclosures

A tray that rocks will split any sealant. Movement is checked before anything is resealed, and if the tray needs refixing, we’ll say so.

Sinks & splashbacks

Where a splashback meets the worktop, there’s a joint that catches every splash. We renew it in clear, white or a matched colour.

Signs you need bathroom resealing

Silicone doesn’t last for ever. Daily water, heat and cleaning products slowly wear it down, so its life depends on how the room is used, cleaned and aired.

If you can see any of these, it’s time to have the joints looked at:

  • Mouldy sealant that has gone black
  • A bead that has pulled away from the tiles
  • A reseal done over the top of the old bead
  • Damp behind the bath or under the tray

DIY sealant or a professional job?

Overfilling a joint is a classic DIY mistake. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and doesn’t move well, and the joint depth matters as much as the finish.

If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it does not work out, we can still put it right.

Questions from G71

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes, often. Several properties can go on one quote.

What information do you need?

A short description and the location. We’ll ask anything else we need to know.

How long does it take to reseal a bath or shower?

It depends on how many joints there are and how much old sealant has to come out. Allow a couple of hours for a typical bath or shower.

Can you do several jobs on one visit?

Of course. Doing several areas at once is generally more efficient.

Will there be a smell?

Sometimes, a little. Any smell clears as the sealant cures, and ventilation helps.

Do I have to be there?

Access is agreed with you when the job is booked. For inside work, that normally means someone being in.

Can I choose the colour of the sealant?

You’re not limited to white: clear, white and colours chosen to suit the room. We can help you pick when we quote.
