Need regrouting in Logierait?

Leave it or put it right?

With regrouting, your tiles stay where they are. Retiling is a much bigger job: stripping, making good, new tiles and new grout, and often a few days without a shower. When the tiles are fine, it’s the sensible first step. In a place like Logierait, small leaks are easy to put off, but water through a failed joint keeps working away until it’s fixed.

A few things move the cost up or down: the old material and how easily it comes out, whether mould needs treating, and whether the work is at height. Your quote takes all of that into account.

What you get with us

  • An ARBOMaster approved applicator
  • Neat joints and a tidy finish
  • Sanitary silicone with an anti-fungal additive in wet areas
  • Domestic, commercial and hotel work

Regrouting for homes and businesses in Logierait

Our applicators rake out the old grout to an even depth, without damaging the edges of the tiles. The joints are then vacuumed, regrouted and cleaned off, and the corners get fresh silicone. We work on shower walls, bathroom wall tiles and wet rooms, and common reasons people get in touch are gaps where the shower grout has gone and floor grout that has worn and darkened.

Being further from a city does not change the work: old material out, joints cleaned and dried, and a fresh, even finish. We just plan the journey and access beforehand.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with our work within the year, let us know and we’ll sort it.

Logierait: your questions answered

Do you cover Logierait for regrouting?

Yes, Logierait is within the area we cover. Our work covers the whole of Scotland. Just drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk with a few details of the job, and we’ll send you a clear quote.

Do you cover smaller places like Logierait?

Yes, we do. We work across all of Scotland, and smaller places are part of that. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.

How long does regrouting take?

That depends on how much there is to do, but most jobs take a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room. We will tell you when we quote.

How much does regrouting cost in Logierait?

It depends on the job, so we quote each one individually. For a quick quote, send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk and let us know what needs doing and where.

Can landlords and businesses book you?

Yes, regularly. Several properties can be quoted together, and between tenancies is a good time for the work.

Is it worth trying it myself?

It depends on the job. Work at height, movement joints, fire-rated gaps and large areas are best left to a professional.

Will you leave a mess?

No. We work neatly, protect the area around the joints and tidy up afterwards.

Where is Mr Mastic based?

Our base is Crawley, with over 20 years’ experience. We work across South East England, London and Scotland.

What affects the cost of regrouting

The quote reflects the job in front of us. We look at:

  • Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
  • The number of rooms or windows
  • Access and height
  • How much there is to do

Commercial jobs are quoted on the same basis as homes: the amount of work, how we reach it and what it needs, plus any working-time requirements on site. Ask us for a quote and we will explain what it covers.

Helping us quote

Before you ask for a quote, have a think about:

  • Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
  • The problem you’ve noticed
  • The rough size of the job
  • Where the job is, and your postcode

There’s no standard price list, because every job is different. Instead, we give you a clear quote for your job. To get started, drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk.

DIY versus a professional finish

If you’ve already had a go yourself, that’s fine. We remove it and do the joint properly, so tell us about it when you ask for a quote.

Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone will not bond to old, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. All the old material has to come out first.

How it works

You don’t need to clear the whole room or building, just the space around the work. Everything nearby is protected, and the job takes anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area for a typical job. In smaller Scottish places, parking is usually less of an issue than access and distance. Tell us how to find the property and how to reach the work, and the visit is planned around that.

  1. Every tile area is checked for hollow or loose tiles first.
  2. The old grout is removed to an even depth.
  3. The joints are vacuumed clean.
  4. We regrout the joints and clean the tile faces.
  5. Silicone goes into the corners and along the edges.

How to prepare

  • Move anything stored near the joints
  • Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks
  • Try not to wet indoor joints just before the visit

Bathrooms and kitchens in Logierait

Scottish Water supplies are generally soft, so limescale is less of a problem than in hard-water areas. Mould is another matter: a bathroom that stays damp still turns sealant and grout black. In Scotland, private landlords have to meet the Repairing Standard, which includes keeping fixtures and fittings in reasonable repair. Tired, leaking sealant is worth putting right before a new tenant moves in.

In the older streets around Logierait Parish Church, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first. Rented homes near Pitlochry station change hands often, and a regrout while the flat is empty is quicker than working around a tenant.

How the job changes by surface

Bathroom wall tiles

Splash areas around basins and baths stain first. We can do part of a wall or all of it.

Kitchen splashbacks

A splashback can be regrouted without touching the worktop. The worktop edge is finished with silicone.

Keeping the joints in good condition

So the new joints stay in good condition:

  • Rinse soap off the tiles after each shower
  • Get any tile that moves checked promptly
  • Keep an eye on the silicone along the edges
  • Stick to mild products for cleaning grout

Use a gentle cleaner on the grout and a soft brush. Avoid neat bleach and strong acid descalers because they wear grout away.

Small problems with grout are quick to put right. Left, the same problem can let water through, so get it looked at when you notice it.

What sealant work cannot fix

It helps to know what we can’t do:

  • Movement in a stud wall or floor
  • Cracked or broken tiles
  • Waterproofing that has failed below the tiling

If you’re not sure, just drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we will give you a straight answer before booking.
