About bathroom resealing in PO18
Across PO18, the joints we reseal are the ones that fail in any home: the long edge of the bath, the base of the shower tray, the back of the basin and the line along the worktop. Each one is stripped, cleaned and dried before new silicone goes in. Typical jobs include sealant that has split, shrunk or peeled away and water escaping at the shower enclosure, on baths, kitchen worktops & upstands and wet rooms.
All our tools and materials come with us in the van. Once we have agreed what’s being done, the area is protected and the work begins. Most jobs take a couple of hours for a single bath or shower.
- We start by protecting the area and stripping out the old bead.
- Next, the joint is cleaned and any mould is treated.
- We let it dry fully and fill the bath with water before sealing.
- We apply anti-fungal sanitary silicone in one even bead and tool it neatly.
- We clear away and tell you when it can get wet, generally after around 24 hours.
What affects the price in PO18
Some things make a job bigger or smaller: how much old sealant there is and how stubborn it is, whether mould needs treating, and whether we need extra access for height. We take all of that into account in your quote.
Why book with us
- Anti-fungal silicone where joints get wet
- White, clear, grey or coloured to suit, where the product allows
- Over 20 years’ experience
- Homes, businesses and hotels

Landmarks near Bosham
We work in homes and buildings around The United Reformed Church, The Berkeley Arms Public House and Bosham Primary School and the streets around them. Bosham’s nearest station is Bosham station, roughly 0.8 miles north-east of the centre. Nearby you will also find Chichester Cathedral Treasury (3.2 miles east) and St Richard's Hospital (3.8 miles east). Not far away are Nutborne Marshes and Stoke Down.
Bathroom resealing across PO18: local notes
Homes across PO18 range from older properties to new builds, and in places like Chichester, Portfield and Fishbourne there’s plenty of rented property too. Sound sealant and clean grout keep water out and rooms looking cared for.
London and the South East are among the drier parts of the UK, though outside sealant still needs a dry, clean joint, so work across PO18 is planned around the weather. PO18 includes coastal places, where outside joints face more wind, rain and salt than they would inland. Walls facing the sea are normally the first to need attention.
Bosham: For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Bosham Primary School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes. If you let a flat or house near Bosham station, a reseal between tenants is a quick way to make the bathroom and kitchen look cared for.
When something else is needed
Some problems need a builder, plumber or other trade rather than us:
- A cracked shower tray or bath (that needs repair or replacement)
- A tray that rocks until it’s re-bedded
- Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
How we quote for bathroom resealing
Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. The main factors:
- The amount of work
- The product the joint needs
- When we can work, for business premises
- Mould in or behind the old joints
A failed joint rarely gets cheaper to fix by waiting, as water and mould keep getting in. If you’re unsure, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email for an honest opinion and a quote.
Asking for a quote
To help us quote quickly, please include:
- What’s wrong with the joints now
- Pictures of the joints, sent by email
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
Quotes start with a quick conversation. Tell us what’s wrong, where it is and how much there is. When it suits you, ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.
What we are called out for in PO18
Baths and trays move. Acrylic in particular gives slightly under the weight of water and a person, and a tray that isn’t fully bedded can rock. That movement works at the bead until it splits or peels away.
Common reasons people contact us include:
- Black mould in the silicone that will not clean off
- Lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt
- Damp behind the bath or under the tray
- Two layers of silicone, both failing
Keeping the joints in good condition
Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:
- Clean with a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth
- Keep an eye on the corners, where splits start
- Avoid abrasive pads on the sealant
- Run the extractor fan during and after every shower
Treat the new bead gently when you clean: a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth is enough. Avoid scouring pads and anything sharp, and a nicked bead lets mould in sooner.
Watch for the early signs: a corner lifting, a gap behind the bead, a dark line under the silicone or a damp patch on the ceiling below. If you spot one, it’s time to reseal.
What happens if it’s left?
The difference in a professional reseal is mostly what you don’t see: removing all the old sealant, degreasing the joint, treating mould and drying it properly. Skip those steps and even the best silicone fails early.

Questions from PO18
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes, regularly. Several properties can be quoted together, and between tenancies is a good time for the work.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. We’re fully insured.
Are you an approved applicator?
Yes. We are an ARBOMaster approved applicator.
Which products do you use?
Quality sealants from brands including Arbo and Everbuild, chosen to suit the joint. We’ll tell you what we are using and why.
What do you need from me for a quote?
Where the job is, what the problem is and roughly how big it is. Photos by email help too.
Should I try DIY first?
That depends on the joint. High-level, external movement and fire-rated joints are professional jobs, while a short indoor joint may be within reach.
Will it make a mess?
No. We work neatly, protect the area around the joints and tidy up afterwards.
