How bathroom resealing works in GU29
Mr Mastic has more than 20 years’ experience of sealant work, and our applicators reseal bathrooms and kitchens across GU29. We’re ARBOMaster approved and fully insured, and the work comes with a 12-month guarantee. Common call-outs are for splits where the tray meets the wall and water getting behind the bath panel, across shower trays & enclosures, sinks & splashbacks and basins & vanity units.
We bring everything the job needs with us. Once we’ve agreed what’s being done, we protect the area and start. Most jobs take a couple of hours for a single bath or shower.
- We start by protecting the area and stripping out the old bead.
- The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
- The joint is left to dry, and baths are filled with water first.
- We apply anti-fungal sanitary silicone in one even bead and tool it neatly.
- Finally we tidy up and explain the cure time before we leave.
How we quote
A failed joint rarely gets cheaper to fix by waiting, because water and mould keep working on it. If you’re unsure, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email for an honest opinion and a quote.
Why book with us
- Every job guaranteed for a year
- Experience in homes, commercial sites and hotels
- More than 20 years in sealant work
- We never seal over old sealant

What’s near Midhurst
Typical jobs here are in homes near The Egmont Public House, St Margaret's Convent and Midhurst CofE Primary School and the streets around them. Nearby too are Roman Catholic Church of Divine Motherhood (under half a mile east) and Midhurst Rother College (0.6 miles north-east). A little further out are Midhurst Community Hospital (0.8 miles north-east) and Lodsworth Castle (3.2 miles east). Not far away are Levin Down and Iping and Stedham Commons.
Bathroom resealing across GU29: local notes
Homes across GU29 range from older properties to new builds, and in places like Midhurst, Easebourne and Stedham there’s plenty of rented property too. Bathroom resealing keeps bathrooms and kitchens watertight and looking cared for.
From Victorian terraces to post-war new towns and modern estates, homes across the South East and London cover every era. Each needs the right sealant for its age and materials.
Midhurst: If you look after a building such as Midhurst CofE Primary School, washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes. For an older house near a landmark such as Roman Catholic Church of Divine Motherhood, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.
How the job changes by surface
Shower trays & enclosures
The vertical joint where a screen profile meets the wall is a common leak point. We reseal it along with the base of the enclosure, following the enclosure maker’s guidance on which side to seal.
Baths
Acrylic baths give a little under load, while steel and cast iron baths move less but still settle when full. Filling the bath first allows for that movement.
Why act early?
You do not need a new bathroom because the sealant looks bad. A new bead often brings the whole room back. If something else is wrong, we will tell you.
Comparing quotes
- What product goes in the joint
- Whether you can choose the colour
- Whether all the old sealant comes out first
- How long to leave it before use
When something else is needed
Sealant is not the answer to every problem, and we’ll tell you before we start. Sealant will not put right:
- A cracked shower tray or bath (that needs repair or replacement)
- Movement from a bath with loose feet or no proper support
- Leaks from a shower valve, waste or pipework (a plumber’s job)
Why it fails
Silicone needs a clean, dry surface without any grease to stick to. Soap residue, oils and leftover silicone film all get in the way, so a rushed job can start to lift early.
The most common problems we see are:
- Mouldy sealant that has gone black
- A reseal done over the top of the old bead
- Leaking joints on a shower screen
- A joint torn by a bath that flexes
What affects the cost of bathroom resealing
Jobs vary more than people expect. What affects the quote:
- The old material and how stubborn it is
- The number and length of the joints
- The product the joint needs
- How many areas need sealing
Rather than a set price list, we look at what your job involves: how many joints, what’s in them now and how we reach them. You will know the price before we begin.
Helping us quote
You don’t need to know the technical terms. Just tell us:
- What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
- The rough size of the job
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
- The address or postcode of the job

Questions from GU29
What do you need from me for a quote?
Where the job is, what the problem is and roughly how big it is. If you can, email a few photos.
Are you insured?
Yes, we are fully insured for domestic and commercial work.
Do you remove the old sealant?
Yes, always, and completely. New sealant won’t bond properly to old, so any old material comes out before anything new goes in.
Do you work in GU29?
Yes. We cover GU29, as part of our work across South East England, London and Scotland. For a quote, phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.
Do you work for hotels and businesses?
Yes. We work in offices, washrooms, hotels and other commercial premises. Working times can be discussed when we quote.
Is the work guaranteed?
Yes, a one-year guarantee. Good ventilation and gentle cleaning help it last.
Can I choose the colour of the sealant?
We can use white, clear or a colour to suit. Where the joint is on show, we match it to the surface.
