Bathroom resealing near Easebourne

Bathroom resealing around Easebourne

Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in. Easebourne has hotels and guest accommodation nearby. As well as homes, we work in hotel bathrooms, where resealing and regrouting can be done room by room.

For an older house near a landmark such as The Parish Church of St Mary, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first. Managing a site like Easebourne CofE Primary School? Then its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.

Bathroom resealing in Easebourne, done properly

A reseal only lasts if the joint is properly prepared. Every bit of old silicone comes out, down to the thin film left on the tiles, after which the joint is degreased and any mould treated. Only once it’s dry does the new bead go on. If you’re dealing with shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop and new sealant laid over old sealant that is now lifting, we can help, on shower trays & enclosures, sinks & splashbacks and kitchen worktops & upstands alike.

Being in a small place like Easebourne makes no difference to the job itself: it just means planning the journey and access beforehand. In the bathroom or kitchen, the work is the same as in any town.

All of our work is guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you are.

For landlords and businesses

From a single let to a portfolio, the work is the same standard: old sealant fully removed, joints prepared properly and a 12-month guarantee.

We also work for property managers and facilities teams. Several sites can be quoted together.

DIY versus a professional finish

Some sealant jobs are within reach of a careful DIYer, such as a straightforward joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.

If you’ve already had a go yourself, that’s fine. We remove it and do the joint properly.

When something else is needed

New sealant cannot fix everything, and we’d rather say so up front. Sealant won’t put right:

  • A tray or bath that’s cracked through
  • Cracked or missing grout between tiles (that’s regrouting)
  • Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint

Not sure which it is? You can phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and we’ll tell you honestly.

Where we work in Easebourne

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Sinks & splashbacks
  • Kitchen worktops & upstands
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures

What happens on the day

The work is kept neat and contained to the joints we are treating, so you can carry on as normal. Expect the work to take two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is, and we explain the cure time before we leave. In a small place like Easebourne, access is normally the main thing to plan. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.

  1. Protection goes down around the bath, shower or worktop.
  2. We cut away the old sealant and clean off what’s left.
  3. We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
  4. Baths are filled first, then anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied in a colour to suit.
  5. The joint is finished neatly and we explain when it can get wet.

How to prepare

Advice

How we quote for bathroom resealing

Call for a quick quote. What matters most is:

  • Any mould that needs treating
  • The number and length of the joints
  • Access and height
  • The old material and how stubborn it is

Some things make a job bigger or smaller: the old material and how easily it comes out, whether mould needs treating, and whether the work is at height. We take all of that into account in your quote.

What to tell us for a quote

When you contact us, it’s useful to know:

  • The type of property
  • How we’d reach the joints
  • Roughly how big the job is
  • The address or postcode of the job

We do not publish a price list, because every job is different. Instead, we give you a clear quote for your job. To get started, call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.

Aftercare tips

Once the sealant has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
  • Use gentle cleaners on the silicone
  • Keep the fan on for a while after bathing
  • Keep an eye on the corners, where splits start

Wipe up standing water along the worktop joint and keep hot pans off the bead. The drier the joint stays, the longer it lasts.

Each shower pushes a little more water through a failed joint. Over time that water reaches floors, walls and ceilings. Resealing early stops it.

Your questions about bathroom resealing in Easebourne

Is Easebourne in your area for bathroom resealing?

Yes. We work across London and the South East, and Easebourne is part of that. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with a few details of the job.

Is Easebourne within the area you cover?

Yes. Easebourne is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. We work across London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.

Which products do you use?

The product depends on the job: anti-fungal sanitary silicone in wet areas, and other sealants where joints move or face the weather. Brands we use include Arbo and Everbuild.

Can you get rid of the black mould in my sealant?

Yes. Mould inside the bead rarely cleans out for good, so the bead comes out, the joint is treated and new anti-fungal silicone goes in.

Will there be a smell?

Some sealants have a smell while they cure, which fades as it sets. Opening a window helps.

Every job is different, so each one gets its own quote. To get one, phone 0345 464 0079 or email us with a short description of the job.

What colours of sealant can you use?

Most people choose white or clear, but other colours can be used to suit tiles and worktops. Let us know your preference when you ask for a quote.

What do you need from me for a quote?

Just the basics: the address or postcode, what’s wrong and any access issues. Then ring 0345 464 0079 or email us.

How the job changes by surface

Basins & vanity units

Basins take less water than showers, but the joint behind them is splashed every day. Corners behind basins are where mould tends to start, so it’s cut out and renewed just like a bath joint.

Sinks & splashbacks

Next to the sink, the sealant has to cope with constant water, and a food-safe product where it’s needed. The bead is finished smooth so it wipes clean.
