Bathroom resealing in Chichester: local notes
Chichester has hotels and guest accommodation nearby. As well as homes, we work in hotel bathrooms, where resealing and regrouting can be done room by room. Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
Schools such as Lancastrian Infant School are buildings too, and we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes. Letting a property close to Chichester station? Then fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay.

How we handle bathroom resealing in Chichester
A bead that has gone black, split or come away shouldn’t be left until there’s a leak. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with a photo of the joints, and we will send you a clear quote for bathroom resealing in Chichester. Typical jobs include gaps between the worktop and the wall and gaps where the bath or tray has moved, across shower trays & enclosures, sinks & splashbacks and wet rooms.
Most bathrooms in a town like Chichester are in family homes, used every day, which is hard on sealant and grout. Black mould along the bath, a lifting bead by the sink or crumbling grout in the shower are the usual signs.
Each job carries a 12-month guarantee, large or small.

Why act early in Chichester
Tired sealant is not a reason to replace a bath or shower. Replacing the joint is generally all it takes, as long as the fittings themselves are sound. If something else is wrong, we will tell you. In Chichester, as anywhere, most leaks start as a small gap in a joint, and early is when they’re cheapest and quickest to sort.
There are no prices on our website, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a quick quote, please ring 0345 464 0079 or email us and we’ll talk you through it.

How the job changes by surface
Baths
Most bath leaks begin along the long edge, especially under a shower. We finish it with a single, even bead of anti-fungal silicone.
Sinks & splashbacks
Around the sink, we use a product suited to kitchens, including a food-safe sealant where that’s needed. The joint is laid neatly so it’s easy to wipe.
Signs you need bathroom resealing in Chichester
Silicone doesn’t last for ever. Every shower, every splash and every wipe with a cleaner slowly wear it down, and how long it lasts comes down to use, cleaning and ventilation.
It’s worth asking for a quote if you see:
- Gaps between the worktop and the wall
- Gaps where the bath or tray has moved
- Water escaping at the shower enclosure
- A bead that has pulled away from the tiles
For an older house near a landmark such as Church of St Paul, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.

When it is not the sealant
Sealant isn’t the answer to every problem, and we will tell you before any work starts. It will not solve:
- Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
- Loose or hollow tiles, or failed tanking behind them
- A cracked shower tray or bath (that needs repair or replacement)
If you’re not sure, just phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Keeping the joints in good condition
Good habits help new joints last longer. A few tips:
- Never pick at the silicone with a blade
- Clean with a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth
- Check the joints every few months for splits or lifting
- Dry worktop joints after washing up
Don’t stand bottles along the bead, as they hold water against it. Squeegeeing the walls and tray after use helps the joint dry.
A failed kitchen joint is easy to miss. Water gets behind the upstand and into the edge of a laminate worktop, and the board underneath can swell. A reseal in time can save the worktop.
What happens on the day
Most of a good job is in the preparation, and we do not rush it. Every joint is cleaned and dried before new material goes in. All told, the work takes half a day or less for one room, longer when the kitchen is included. For a job in Chichester, we need access to where the work is and somewhere nearby to park. If the job is outside, mention gates, side access and anything above ground floor.
- We cover the area around the joints we’re working on.
- We cut away the old sealant and clean off what’s left.
- We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
- Baths are filled first, then anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied in a colour to suit.
- We finish the joint, clear up and tell you how long to leave it before it gets wet.
Getting ready for the visit
- Tell us about any water getting in
- Mention if the joints have been sealed before
- Let us know about parking restrictions

Should I try it myself first?
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. Silicone does not stick to old silicone, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. Everything old must be removed first.
If you are set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: remove every trace of old sealant, clean and dry the joint, and follow the product’s cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.
Questions from Chichester
Is Chichester in your area for bathroom resealing?
Yes. Our work covers London and the South East, and Chichester is part of that. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or email us and let us know what needs doing.
Do you work for landlords with property near Chichester station?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the address and a few details, and we will give you a fixed price before we start.
How long does the new silicone need before I use the shower?
Around 24 hours is typical, and we confirm the time for the product used. Getting it wet too early can spoil the new joint.
Do the sealants smell?
There can be a smell while the sealant cures. Ventilation helps.
My sealant has gone black. Can you sort it?
Yes. Once mould has grown into the silicone, it usually cannot be cleaned out for good, so the bead comes out, the joint is treated and new anti-fungal silicone goes in.
Do you work for hotels and businesses?
Yes. Hotels, offices and other businesses use us.
Can you reseal around my kitchen sink and worktop?
Yes, often alongside a bathroom. Where it’s needed by the sink, we use a food-safe sealant.
Can I do it myself?
That depends on the joint. High-level, external movement and fire-rated joints are professional jobs, while a short indoor joint may be within reach.
