Bathroom resealing in Walderton
A reseal only lasts if the joint is properly prepared. The old sealant is removed to the last smear, after which the joint is degreased and any mould treated. New silicone goes on only when the joint is fully dry. If you have leaks into the floor or ceiling below and gaps where the bath or tray has moved, we can put it right.
Being in a small place like Walderton makes no difference to the job itself: it just means planning the journey and access beforehand. Once we’re there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.
You are covered for a year from the day we finish. If there’s a problem with it, please phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.

- A leaking waste, trap or valve
- Water getting in through the grout rather than the sealant

What affects the quote in Walderton
Jobs vary more than people expect. What affects the quote:
- The number and length of the joints
- The old material and how stubborn it is
- Access and height
- Mould in or behind the old joints
A few things move the cost up or down: how much old sealant there is and how stubborn it is, whether mould needs treating, and whether the work is at height. Your quote takes all of that into account.
What to tell us for a quote
A few details help us give you an accurate quote. When you ask for a quote, tell us:
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
- What’s wrong with the joints now
- Where the property is
- Pictures of the joints, sent by email
We don’t publish a price list, as no two jobs are quite the same. Instead, your job gets its own clear quote. To get started, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
Landlord and commercial work in Walderton
Letting agents often deal with us directly. Send the address, what’s needed and the access arrangements and we will give you a quote.
Failed sealant is one of the commonest items on a check-out report, and it’s quick to put right between tenancies. Several properties can go on one quote.
How it works
There is not much for you to do on the day. Point us to the joints and we’ll get on with it. The job generally takes half a day or less for one room, longer when the kitchen is included. In a small place like Walderton, access is normally the main thing to plan. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- We cover the area around the joints we’re working on.
- Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
- Mould is treated, then the joint is left to dry thoroughly.
- Any bath is filled with water, then we lay a bead of anti-fungal silicone in white, clear or a matching colour.
- We finish the joint, clear up and tell you how long to leave it before it gets wet.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep pets and children clear of the area while we work
- Clear the area around the work
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules

Advice
Can I do it myself?
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone won’t bond to old, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. Everything old must be removed first.
Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and does not move well, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
When to call us in Walderton
Plenty of failed sealant has been laid over the top of older sealant. Fresh silicone can’t grip the old bead underneath, so it peels, leaks and hides mould behind it.
Look out for any of the following:
- Splits where the tray meets the wall
- Leaking joints on a shower screen
- A bead that has pulled away from the tiles
- Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop
Homes close to The Parish Church of St Mary include some older properties, and older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.
What to look for in a quote
- How the colour is chosen
- Whether they’re fully insured
- Whether VAT is included
- How long to leave it before use
Aftercare tips
A little care helps the new joints last. We recommend:
- Wait for the cure time we give you
- Do not leave water standing on kitchen joints
- Look for lifting corners and small gaps now and then
- Keep bottles off the sealant line
Wipe up standing water along the worktop joint and keep hot pans off the bead. A dry joint lasts longer.
Each shower pushes a little more water through a failed joint. Left alone, it soaks into the floor, the wall behind the tiles or the ceiling below. Early resealing closes the gap before damage is done.
