Our bathroom resealing service in KT2

Sealant is the soft line between a bath, shower or worktop and the wall. When it splits, shrinks or turns black, water gets behind it and into the wall or floor. Every trace of the old sealant is taken out and replaced with anti-fungal sanitary silicone. We work on kitchen worktops & upstands, basins & vanity units and wet rooms, and common reasons people get in touch are a reseal done over the top of the old bead and smears of silicone across the tiles.

We bring everything the job needs with us, so there’s nothing for you to buy. After a quick look at the joints together, the area is protected and the work begins. Most jobs take a morning or an afternoon for most single baths and showers.

  1. We cover the area around the joints we’re working on.
  2. Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
  3. We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
  4. Any bath is filled with water, then we lay a bead of anti-fungal silicone in white, clear or a matching colour.
  5. The joint is finished neatly and we explain when it can get wet.

Bathroom resealing across KT2: local notes

Homes across KT2 range from older properties to new builds, with plenty of rented property in places like Kingston upon Thames, Hampton Wick and Norbiton. Bathroom resealing keeps bathrooms and kitchens watertight and looking cared for.

From Victorian terraces to post-war new towns and modern estates, homes across the South East and London cover every era. Each needs the right sealant for its age and materials, wherever it is in KT2.

Kingston upon Thames: If you live in an older home near Church of St Luke, bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant. For site and facilities teams at buildings such as St Luke's CofE Primary School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.

What we’re called out for in KT2

Silicone needs a clean, dry surface without any grease to stick to. Soap residue, oils and leftover silicone film all get in the way, so a rushed job can start to lift early.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • New sealant laid over old sealant that is now lifting
  • Splits where the tray meets the wall
  • Failed sealant on the screen profile
  • Black spots spreading through the bead

What affects the cost of bathroom resealing

The quote reflects the job in front of us. We look at:

  • Whether the work is at height
  • How many areas need sealing
  • How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
  • Mould in or behind the old joints

Some things make a job bigger or smaller: how much old sealant there is and how stubborn it is, whether mould needs treating, and whether we need extra access for height. Your quote takes all of that into account.

Asking for a quote

Photos by email are helpful but not essential. Please mention:

  • Whether it has been sealed before
  • If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
  • What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
  • Roughly how big the job is

To get a quote, call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the location and a short description of the problem. You’ll have a clear quote before we start.

What sealant work can’t fix

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what new sealant won’t do:

  • A tray or bath that is cracked through
  • Cracked or missing grout between tiles (that is regrouting)
  • A bath or tray that moves because it is not properly supported

Aftercare tips

To keep the joints looking good and working properly:

  • Do not leave water standing on kitchen joints
  • Clean with a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth
  • Look for lifting corners and small gaps now and then
  • Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet

In a kitchen, do not let water sit along the back of the worktop and keep hot pans away from the silicone. The drier the joint stays, the longer it lasts.

Mould that starts as a few spots spreads through the bead. Once it’s deep in the silicone, cleaning normally won’t remove it, and nearby grout often goes the same way. Catching it early keeps it a simple reseal.
