Bathroom resealing near Ware

Can I do it myself?

Some sealant jobs are within reach of a careful DIYer, such as a straightforward joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.

The difference is mostly in the preparation and the product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is matched to the joint and its conditions, and the work is guaranteed for a year.

About our bathroom resealing in Ware

A reseal only lasts if the joint is properly prepared. The old sealant is removed to the last smear, after which the joint is degreased and any mould treated. New silicone goes on only when the joint is fully dry. If you’re dealing with gaps where the bath or tray has moved and lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt, we can put it right, whatever the surface.

In a village or hamlet like Ware, homes are often older cottages and farmhouses alongside a few newer houses. Movement in older walls and floors tends to show first as cracked grout or split sealant.

There’s a 12-month guarantee on every job, whatever its size.

Work for landlords, hotels and businesses

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Tell us the address, the job and how access works and we will quote.

Whether it’s one flat or a portfolio, the work is the same standard: old sealant fully removed, joints prepared properly and a one-year guarantee.

When to call us in Ware

Silicone does not last for ever. Every shower, every splash and every wipe with a cleaner slowly wear it down, so its life depends on how the room is used, cleaned and aired.

Any of these means the joints need attention:

  • Leaking joints on a shower screen
  • New sealant laid over old sealant that is now lifting
  • A messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal
  • A bead that has pulled away from the tiles

Around Ware, as everywhere, bathroom resealing is only as good as the preparation behind it.

Choosing a sealant specialist

What sealant work cannot fix

Honest advice matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what sealant cannot fix:

  • Damage behind the tiles that needs a tiler
  • A bath or tray that moves because it is not properly supported
  • Cracks in the tray itself rather than the joint

If in doubt, ring 0345 464 0079 or email us and we’ll say what we think before booking.

What we seal

  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Sinks & splashbacks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & upstands

Surface by surface

Basins & vanity units

Vanity units have long, worktop-style joints against the wall. Water that gets behind can damage the unit, so the joint is sealed in one unbroken line.

Shower trays & enclosures

There are usually two jobs in a shower: the tray-to-wall joint and the enclosure joints. Both get soaked every time the shower runs, so each is cut out and renewed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.

How it works

There isn’t much for you to do on the day. Point us to the joints and we will get on with it. The job generally takes half a day or less for one room, longer when the kitchen is included from start to finish. Somewhere like Ware needs a little journey planning: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.

  1. We look at every joint first and check for movement or leaks.
  2. Every trace of the old bead is removed, including the thin smear on the tiles.
  3. Joints are degreased and any mould is treated.
  4. When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
  5. We tool the bead to a neat finish and give you the cure time, usually around 24 hours.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any leaks or damp you’ve noticed
  • Keep children and pets away from the work area
  • Tell us about access, such as stairs, a lift or high-level joints

How to get a quote

Ware questions

I let a flat near Minster station. Can you help?

Yes, we work for landlords and letting agents. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and tell us about the property, and we will give you a clear quote.

Do you cover Ware for bathroom resealing?

Yes, Ware is within the area we cover. We work across London and the South East. You can call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and let us know what needs doing, and we’ll give you a clear price.

How long before the new sealant can get wet?

We give you the cure time before we leave, and it’s generally around 24 hours. Using it sooner can damage the bead.

Can you just seal over the old silicone?

No. A bead laid over old silicone soon starts to come away, because silicone doesn’t bond to silicone. Every trace of the old bead is removed first.

Will it make a mess?

Very little: the area around the joints is protected first, and we clear up the old sealant and our materials before we leave.

Do you guarantee your resealing?

Yes. All our work comes with a 12-month guarantee, and we’re fully insured.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Several rooms, windows or areas can go on one quote.

How long will the resealing take?

It depends on how many joints there are and how much old sealant has to come out. For most single baths or showers, allow a couple of hours.

What happens if it’s left?

The difference in a professional reseal is mostly what you don’t see: cutting out every trace of the old bead, cleaning, treating mould and letting the joint dry. Without that preparation, the new bead will not last. Around Ware, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, and water through a failed joint can rot timber if it’s left.

Homes and businesses are quoted the same way: the amount of work, how we reach it and what it needs, plus any working-time requirements on site. Call for a quick quote and we will explain what it covers.
