Baliscate Bathroom Resealing
Bath, shower, basin, wet room, worktop and sink resealing for homes and businesses in Baliscate and across Argyll and Bute. Fully insured, ARBOMaster approved and guaranteed for a year.
- Lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt
- Gaps where the bath or tray has moved
- Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop
What affects the cost of bathroom resealing
Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. What affects the quote:
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
- The product the joint needs
- How much there is to do
- Any mould that needs treating
Homes and businesses are quoted the same way: the amount of work, the access and the products needed, along with when we can work on site. Ask us for a quote and we’ll go through it with you.
What we need to know
There’s no need for technical detail. Just tell us:
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
- The problem you’ve noticed
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
We quote each job on its own. Simply send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk and describe the job.
Bathroom resealing in Baliscate
With over 20 years in the trade, we reseal baths, showers and kitchens in homes across Baliscate. We are ARBOMaster approved and fully insured, and every job carries our 12-month guarantee. We work on wet rooms, kitchen worktops & upstands and sinks & splashbacks, and common reasons people get in touch are water escaping at the shower enclosure and lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt.
A bathroom in a place like Baliscate gets the same daily wear as one in a city flat. Limescale is less of a problem with Scotland’s generally soft water, but mould still takes hold in damp sealant and grout.
All of our work is guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you are.

What else we do in Baliscate
What the job involves on each surface
Basins & vanity units
Vanity units have long, worktop-style joints against the wall. If water gets in, the cabinet underneath can swell, so the joint is sealed in one unbroken line.
Wet rooms
If a wet room leaks, the cause may be the tanking or the drain rather than the joints. We check the joints and say so if the fault looks to be elsewhere.
DIY sealant or a professional job?
A DIY attempt does not rule out a professional job. We remove it and do the joint properly, so tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. Silicone doesn’t stick to old silicone, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. All the old material has to come out first.
Why act early in Baliscate
Sorting it now is quick: it takes two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is. Left until water gets through, the job can grow to lifting panels, drying out and decorating. In an older home around Baliscate, damp from a failed joint can get into timber and plaster, which is a far bigger job than the sealant.
What you pay reflects the work, not guesswork. That’s why we ask a few questions first and give you a clear price before we start.
Why book with us
- A choice of colours where the product allows
- Fully insured

For landlords and businesses
We also work for property managers and facilities teams in Baliscate and across Argyll and Bute. Several sites can go on one quote.
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, what’s needed and the access arrangements and we will quote.
What we cannot put right
Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:
- A cracked shower tray or bath (that needs repair or replacement)
- Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
- Failed grout lines across the wall
Not sure which it is? You can email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Bathroom resealing in Baliscate: local notes
Baliscate is within about 1 mile of the coast. Near the coast, holiday lets and guest houses can see bathrooms used by one guest after another, which wears sealant and grout out faster than in a quiet home. Scotland’s water is generally soft, so sealant and grout see less limescale than in much of England. But mould still grows into sealant and grout in a room that doesn’t dry out.
For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Tobermory High School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes. In and around Baliscate, as anywhere, good bathroom resealing starts with a clean, dry, properly prepared joint.
Baliscate is about 27 miles north-west of Oban, in Argyll and Bute. Jobs in Baliscate get the same care as everywhere else we work: old sealant removed completely, careful preparation and a one-year guarantee. Our Argyll and Bute coverage runs to 118 places, Baliscate among them.
Postcode districts we cover here for bathroom resealing: PA75. Whether your property is on Morvern Drive and Struan Crescent or anywhere close by, our applicators can take on the job. Island and remote addresses take a little more planning, so please mention your location when you send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk.

Baliscate: your questions answered
Is bathroom resealing in Baliscate guaranteed?
Every job comes with our 12-month guarantee, wherever it is. We’re also fully insured and ARBOMaster approved.
Can you do bathroom resealing in Baliscate?
Yes, Baliscate is within the area we cover. We work across all of Scotland. You can send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk and tell us what needs doing.
How do I get a quote for bathroom resealing in Baliscate?
Every job is different, so each one gets its own quote. For a quick quote, drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk and tell us what needs doing and where.
Do you remove the old sealant?
Always. Sealing over the old bead is the commonest cause of early failure, so we never do it.
Can mouldy silicone be sorted out?
Yes, we replace the mouldy bead. Cleaning products may lighten it, but the lasting fix is new anti-fungal silicone on a clean, treated joint. Good ventilation helps keep it away.
Can I choose the colour of the sealant?
White, clear and a range of colours are available. On a worktop we colour-match where the joint shows.
Can you reseal around my kitchen sink and worktop?
Yes. Worktops, sinks and splashbacks are all part of the job, with a sealant suited to kitchens, colour-matched where it shows.
Do you work for letting agents?
Yes. As well as homeowners, we work for landlords, agents, businesses and hotels in Baliscate.
How it works
Before we leave, we go over the finished joints with you. The work normally takes a morning or an afternoon for most single baths and showers, depending on the amount of work. In smaller Scottish places, parking is normally less of an issue than access and distance. Let us know how to find you and how to reach the joints.
- We look at every joint first and check for movement or leaks.
- The old silicone is cut out completely, along with the film it leaves on the tiles.
- Joints are degreased and any mould is treated.
- With the joint dry, and any bath loaded with water, a single bead of anti-fungal silicone is applied.
- We tool the bead to a neat finish and give you the cure time, generally around 24 hours.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know about stairs, lifts or work at height
- For indoor joints, keep the area dry beforehand if you can
- For business premises, tell us about site rules or sign-in
