Bathroom resealing across DA15: what to expect
A bead that has gone black, split or come away is worth sorting before it lets water through. A photo of the joints helps when you call 0345 464 0079 or email us, and you will get a clear quote before any work starts. We work on shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & upstands and wet rooms, and the jobs we see most are shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop and damp behind the bath or under the tray.
There’s no need to move everything out before we come, only the area right around the joints. Everything nearby is protected, and the job takes a couple of hours for a single bath or shower in most cases.
- We look at every joint first and check for movement or leaks.
- Every trace of the old bead is removed, including the thin smear on the tiles.
- The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
- When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
- We tool the bead to a neat finish and give you the cure time, usually around 24 hours.
What affects the price in DA15
The cost depends on the size of the job, how much old material has to come out and how easy the joints are to reach. You’ll have a clear quote before any work starts.

Where we work in DA15
Homes across DA15 range from older properties to new builds, with plenty of rented property in places like Eltham, Sidcup and Welling. Sound sealant and clean grout keep water out and rooms looking cared for.
Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings. Whatever the job in DA15, surfaces are cleaned back properly before new sealant goes in.
Blackfen: Blackfen is in London, so parking needs planning: tell us about permits, visitor bays or off-street space when you book. If you look after a building such as Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Primary School, its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.
What affects the cost of bathroom resealing
For a quick quote, just ask. What matters most is:
- When we can work, for business premises
- Which sealant suits the joint
- Mould in or behind the old joints
- The number of rooms or windows
Rather than a set price list, we price the job in front of us: how many joints, what’s in them now and how we reach them. The price is agreed before we begin.
Helping us quote
What to tell us when you ask for a quote:
- Whether it has been sealed before
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
- The address or postcode of the job
- A few pictures by email, if you can
Asking for a quote is easy: let us know the job and the location. A few photos by email make the job easier to understand, and we will come back to you with a quote.
What sealant work can’t fix
Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:
- A tray that rocks until it’s re-bedded
- Damage behind the tiles that needs a tiler
- Cracks in the tray itself rather than the joint
DIY sealant or a professional job?
Overfilling a joint is a classic DIY mistake. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and does not move well, and the joint depth matters as much as the finish.
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone will not bond to old, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. All the old material has to come out first.
Landlord and commercial work in DA15
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, what’s needed and the access arrangements and we will quote.
From a single let to a portfolio, you get the same standard of work: the old material taken out, careful preparation and a 12-month guarantee.
Why act early?
A clean new bead makes a room look cared for, which helps when a home is being let or put on the market. A smeared, uneven DIY bead does the opposite.

Common questions in DA15
What does bathroom resealing cost?
Every job is different, so each one gets its own quote. To get one, ring 0345 464 0079 or email us and let us know what needs doing and where.
Do you reseal kitchen worktops and sinks too?
Yes. The old sealant is cut out and the joint degreased, because cooking grease stops silicone sticking, then a colour-matched bead is laid.
Can I choose the colour of the sealant?
We can use white, clear or a colour to suit. Where the joint is on show, we match it to the surface.
Do you come to DA15?
Yes. From our base in Crawley, we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland, and that includes DA15.
How long does it take to reseal a bath or shower?
It takes half a day or less for one room, longer when the kitchen is included. We’ll confirm how long your job needs when we quote.
Can you just seal over the old silicone?
No, and it’s one of the main reasons reseals fail. The old joint is stripped, cleaned and resealed from scratch.
Where are you based?
We’re based in Crawley, and we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland.
