- A messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal
Bathroom resealing in Sevenscore, done properly
We fill the bath before sealing it. The weight settles the bath to its lowest point, so the new joint isn’t pulled apart the first time it’s used. It’s a small step that rushed reseals tend to skip. If you are dealing with lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt and cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone, we can put it right, whatever the surface.
Around Sevenscore, it’s houses and cottages rather than flats. Sealant and grout wear out here just as they do anywhere: everything old comes out before the new sealant or grout goes in.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with our work within the year, let us know and we will sort it.

FAQs for Sevenscore
Do you cover smaller places like Sevenscore?
Yes. Sevenscore is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our work covers London and the South East. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
I let a flat near Thanet Parkway station. Can you help?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and tell us about the property, and we will give you a clear price.
Can you just seal over the old silicone?
No. It’s a common reason for reseals failing. We cut out all of the old sealant, clean the joint and start again.
Do the sealants smell?
Possibly a little. Any smell clears as the sealant cures.
Can you work on commercial sites?
Yes. We can plan bigger jobs in stages to suit the site.
Is white the only colour available?
White and clear are the most common choices, and other colours are available to suit tiles, trays and worktops. Tell us what you’d like when you get in touch.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. We are fully insured.
How long does it take to reseal a bath or shower?
A single bath or shower takes about a couple of hours, including cutting out the old sealant. A full bathroom and kitchen can take most of a day.
DIY sealant or a professional job?
Some sealant jobs are within reach of a careful DIYer, such as a straightforward joint indoors. The common mistakes are sealing over old sealant, sealing a damp joint and using far too much.
If you’re set on DIY, put the effort into preparation: remove every trace of old sealant, clean and dry the joint, and follow the product’s cure time. If it does not work out, we can still put it right.
Bathroom resealing around Sevenscore
Sevenscore is close to the coast. Near the coast, holiday lets and guest houses can see bathrooms used by one guest after another, and sealant and grout that work that hard wear out sooner. Most of the South East has hard water, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.
If you let a flat or house near Thanet Parkway station, mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets.

What the job involves on each surface
Basins & vanity units
Basins take less water than showers, but the joint behind them is splashed every day. Corners behind basins are where mould tends to start, so it’s cut out and renewed just like a bath joint.
Sinks & splashbacks
Where a splashback meets the worktop, there’s a joint that catches every splash. It’s resealed in white, clear or a colour to suit.
Landlords, agents and businesses in Sevenscore
Letting agents often deal with us directly. Tell us the address, the job and how access works.
A neglected joint can let water reach the structure, which matters even more when someone else lives there. Resealing at the right time is simple maintenance that we can handle for you.
Looking after it afterwards
Joint life depends on how it’s used and looked after. We suggest:
- Keep an eye on the corners, where splits start
- Open a window or run the fan so the room dries
- Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
- Squeegee the walls and tray after use
Good ventilation does more than any cleaner. Run the extractor fan during and after a shower, so the bead dries out between uses.
There’s no need to wait for a full refurbishment. Like paintwork, sealant needs renewing from time to time, and renewing it as soon as it fails protects everything around it.
Honest limits
Sealant is not the answer to every problem, and we’d rather say so up front. Sealant will not put right:
- A cracked shower tray or bath (that needs repair or replacement)
- Tiles that have come away from the wall
- Movement from a bath with loose feet or no proper support
If in doubt, ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we’ll say what we think.

What happens on the day
Before we leave, we go over the finished joints with you and explain the cure time. The work normally takes two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is, depending on the amount of work. Somewhere as small as Sevenscore, access is often the only tricky part. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- First, each joint is checked for movement and signs of water.
- Every trace of the old bead is removed, including the thin smear on the tiles.
- Joints are degreased and any mould is treated.
- With the joint dry, and any bath loaded with water, a single bead of anti-fungal silicone is applied.
- The bead is tooled smooth and you are told the cure time, generally around 24 hours.
How to prepare
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
- Tell us if parking is tricky
- Tell us about any water getting in

Signs you need bathroom resealing in Sevenscore
Plenty of failed sealant has been laid over the top of older sealant. Fresh silicone cannot grip the old bead underneath, so it lifts, lets water in and traps mould underneath.
It’s worth asking for a quote if you see:
- New sealant laid over old sealant that is now lifting
- Gaps where the bath or tray has moved
- Sealant that has split, shrunk or peeled away
- Water getting behind the bath panel
For an older house near a landmark such as St Mary, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.
