Regrouting in New Zealand, Buckinghamshire
Problem with your tiled areas in New Zealand? We remove the old material, prepare the joints and seal them properly.
- Shower grout that has worn away
- Stained grout that cleaning won’t shift
- Discoloured grout on otherwise sound tiles
Can I do it myself?
A DIY attempt does not rule out a professional job. We remove it and do the joint properly, so just mention it when you contact us.
The difference is mostly in the preparation and the product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is matched to the joint and its conditions, and the work is guaranteed for a year.
Regrouting in New Zealand
We work across New Zealand, regrouting bathrooms, showers and kitchens. The old grout is raked out, the joints cleaned and new grout laid, finished with new silicone at the edges. We work on shower walls, kitchen splashbacks and bathroom floors, and the jobs we see most are stained grout that cleaning won’t shift and grout washed out of a shower.
In a village or hamlet like New Zealand, homes are often older cottages and farmhouses alongside a few newer houses. Older walls and timber floors can move a little, and cracked grout and split sealant are often the first signs.
Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

New Zealand questions
Can you help a landlord with a rental near Aylesbury station?
Yes, we work for landlords and agents. You can call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the address and a few details, and we’ll give you a fixed price before we start.
Do you work in hotels near New Zealand?
Yes, we work for hotels as well as homes and businesses. A room-by-room programme keeps most rooms in use while the work goes on.
Is it messy?
No. The area is protected while we work and cleaned up afterwards.
What information do you need?
Only a few details: where it is, what you’ve noticed and how we reach it. Then ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.
What guarantee comes with the work?
There’s a 12-month guarantee on every job, including regrouting.
Can you do several jobs on one visit?
Of course. Combining jobs makes good use of the visit, so mention them when you ask for a quote.
Do you cover New Zealand?
Yes. We work in New Zealand, as part of our work across South East England, London and Scotland. To book, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
What goes in the corners, grout or silicone?
Silicone. Grout is for the joints between tiles, while corners and edges need a joint that can move.
Landlord and commercial work in New Zealand
Water getting past a failed joint can damage the building, which matters even more when someone else lives there. Resealing at the right time is simple maintenance.
Mouldy or split sealant often shows up at the end of a tenancy, and it’s quick to put right between tenancies. We can quote for more than one property at once.
How to look after the new joints
No joint lasts for ever, but care makes a real difference. Our tips:
- Wipe or squeegee the shower walls
- Look at the sealant in the corners now and then
- Keep harsh bleach and acid cleaners off the grout
- Clean with a soft brush, not anything metal
Before we leave, you’ll know when the shower can be used. Stick to that time, and avoid scrubbing the new grout hard for the first few days.
If grout in the shower is washing out, act soon. Every shower pushes more water into the gaps and it can end up in the wall or the ceiling below.
How we quote for regrouting
Your quote is based on your job. We look at:
- Any mould that needs treating
- The old material and how stubborn it is
- Which sealant suits the joint
- The size of the job
Leaving a failed joint normally makes the job bigger, not smaller. If you are unsure, call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we’ll give you an honest view and a quote.
Asking for a quote
What to tell us when you ask for a quote:
- How we’d reach the joints
- The rough size of the job
- Photos by email, if that’s easy
- What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
A good description makes for an accurate quote. Let us know the location, the problem and roughly how many joints.
Different surfaces, different methods
Kitchen splashbacks
We can regroute a splashback with the kitchen left in place. The joint along the worktop is resealed with silicone.
Corners and edges
We reseal edges at the same time as regrouting, so everything is renewed at once.

Regrouting in New Zealand: local notes
Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings. New Zealand has hotels and guest accommodation nearby. As well as homes, we work in hotel bathrooms, where resealing and regrouting can be done room by room.
For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Elmhurst School, its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s. Rented homes near Aylesbury station change hands often, and clean grout and fresh sealant between tenancies make a bathroom look cared for again.
New Zealand is about 1 mile west of Elmhurst, in Buckinghamshire. Whether you’re in the middle of New Zealand or further out, regrouting is available for homes and businesses alike, from flats and houses to offices and hotels. New Zealand is one of 263 places in Buckinghamshire we cover. You can also see our page for Oxford, about 19 miles away.
Postcode districts we cover here for regrouting: HP19 and HP20. That includes homes and businesses on Dunsham Lane, Drayton Road and Cannock Road. We also cover the places around New Zealand: Elmhurst (1 mile east), Aylesbury (1 mile south), Watermead (1 mile north-east), Quarrendon Estate (1 mile west) and California (1 mile south). Within a short drive, we also cover High Wycombe (14 miles south), Chesham (12 miles south-east), Buckingham (14 miles north-west), Amersham (14 miles south-east), Princes Risborough (7 miles south) and Haddenham (6 miles south-west).
What’s near New Zealand
We work in homes and buildings around The New Zealand pub, Buckinghamshire UTC and The PACE Centre. The nearest railway station is Aylesbury station, roughly 0.8 miles south of the centre. Nearby you will also find Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital (within half a mile south) and Dinton Castle (3.8 miles south-west).
Signs you need regrouting in New Zealand
Hard water and soap leave a film on grout that is hard to shift. The grout beneath can stain and weaken, and at that point, new grout is the better answer.
Keep an eye out for any of the following:
- Stained grout that cleaning won’t shift
- Cracked or crumbling grout lines
- Floor grout that won’t come clean
- Cracked grout along the bath or tray
In the older streets around St Peter's, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.

How the visit works
A visit follows a simple pattern: we look at the joints together, mask and protect the surrounding surfaces, carry out the job and tidy away. Most jobs take anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area. For a village or hamlet like New Zealand, the journey is planned in advance: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.
- First, we check for loose or hollow tiles and point out any we find.
- The old grout comes out to a consistent depth, without damaging the tiles.
- The joints are vacuumed and cleaned.
- New grout is worked into the joints and cleaned off the tile faces.
- Corners and edges are resealed with flexible silicone, not grout.
Preparing for the visit
- Tell us about any previous sealing or DIY attempts
- Mention any tricky access
- For indoor joints, keep the area dry beforehand if you can
