Regrouting in Eastfield, North Lanarkshire
Problem with your tiled areas in Eastfield? We cut out the old, prepare the joints and apply the right sealant.
- Gaps where the shower grout has gone
- A grout colour that no longer suits the room
- Crumbling grout between the tiles
Why deal with it now?
If tiles are loose, regrouting alone isn’t the answer. We point that out first, so you can decide what to do. Where the tiles are sound, regrouting is far less disruptive than retiling. Exposed walls in smaller Scottish places take a lot of wind and rain, and damp in stone or harled walls takes a long time to dry once water gets behind a joint.
No two jobs are quite the same, so we quote each one individually. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all play a part.

Regrouting in Eastfield
Changing the grout colour is a simple way to update tiles. Light grout can go darker to hide marks, or the other way round. Just mention the colour you’d like when you send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk. If you have grout that makes sound tiles look old and a grout colour that no longer suits the room, we can help, on shower walls, kitchen splashbacks and bathroom wall tiles alike.
Bathrooms in smaller places like Eastfield work just as hard as those in the cities. Generally soft Scottish water means less limescale, but steam still lets mould into sealant and grout.
A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Eastfield homes and their sealant
Scotland’s water is generally soft, so sealant and grout see less limescale than in much of England. Mould is another matter: a bathroom that stays damp still turns sealant and grout black. Private landlords in Scotland must be registered and meet the Repairing Standard, which covers keeping fixtures and fittings in a reasonable state of repair. Failed sealant around a bath or shower is worth sorting between tenancies.
For landlords with property near Blackridge station, a regrout while the flat is empty is quicker than working around a tenant.

Your questions about regrouting in Eastfield
Do you cover Eastfield for regrouting?
Yes. We work across all of Scotland, and Eastfield is part of that. Just send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk with a few details of the job.
Will you come out to Eastfield?
Yes. Eastfield is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our work covers the whole of Scotland. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the route when you book.
Is it possible to regrout only the shower area?
Yes. We’ll check the other tiled areas as well and tell you if anything else needs attention.
Does someone need to be in?
That depends on where the joints are. Inside work needs someone to give us access, and for outside work we will agree access with you when we book.
Which products do you use?
The product depends on the job: anti-fungal sanitary silicone in wet areas, and other sealants where joints move or face the weather. We use products from Arbo and Everbuild.
Are you an approved applicator?
Yes. We’re approved under the ARBOMaster scheme, which is run for the Arbo sealant brand.
Where are you based?
We work from Crawley. We cover Eastfield and the rest of North Lanarkshire, along with the rest of our area.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Several rooms, windows or areas can go on one quote.
How the job changes by surface
Kitchen splashbacks
Splashback grout picks up grease and cooking stains. Stained grout is best replaced.
Shower walls
Showers put more water on grout than anywhere else. We replace it and renew the silicone at the edges.
What we’re called out for in Eastfield
Most grout is porous, so water, soap and grime soak into it. Over time it stains, softens and starts to crumble and showers that get daily use suffer most.
The most common problems we see are:
- Cracked or crumbling grout lines
- A grout colour that no longer suits the room
- Greasy, stained grout behind the hob
- Grout washed out of a shower
Around Eastfield, as everywhere, regrouting is only as good as the preparation behind it.
What your quote should include
- When the joint can take water or movement
- Which sealant they’ll use, and why
- Whether they’re fully insured
- Whether all the old sealant comes out first
What affects the cost of regrouting
You will get a clear quote before any work starts. It takes into account:
- Any mould that needs treating
- Which sealant suits the joint
- How much there is to do
- How many areas need sealing
Some things make a job bigger or smaller: the old material and how easily it comes out, whether mould needs treating, and whether we need extra access for height. Your quote takes all of that into account.
What to tell us for a quote
Photos by email are helpful but not essential. Please mention:
- How we’d reach the joints
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
- Where the job is, and your postcode
- If someone has resealed it before
For a quote, drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk and tell us where the job is and what the problem looks like. We will give you a clear quote before any work starts.
Can I do it myself?
A DIY attempt doesn’t rule out a professional job. We cut it out and start again, so tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: remove every trace of old sealant, clean and dry the joint, and follow the product’s cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.
What else we do in Eastfield
What happens on the day
At the end, we look at the finished work together and explain the cure time. The work normally takes anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area, depending on the amount of work. Outside jobs in Eastfield need a dry day, because sealant won’t bond to a wet joint, so an outdoor job can move if the forecast changes. Indoor work goes ahead whatever the weather.
- We check the tiles are sound and flag any that are loose or hollow.
- Old grout is raked out to a consistent depth without chipping the tiles.
- The joints are vacuumed and cleaned.
- New grout is worked into the joints and cleaned off the tile faces.
- We reseal the internal corners and edges with silicone.
Before we arrive
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
- Mention any tricky access
- Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks
