Bathroom resealing in Stodmarsh
A reseal only lasts if the joint is properly prepared. The old sealant is removed to the last smear, then the joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould. New silicone goes on only when the joint is fully dry. If you have leaks into the floor or ceiling below and black spots spreading through the bead, we can put it right, on shower trays & enclosures, basins & vanity units and sinks & splashbacks alike.
In a village or hamlet like Stodmarsh, homes are often older cottages and farmhouses alongside a few newer houses. Older walls and timber floors can move a little, and cracked grout and split sealant are often the first signs.

Stodmarsh homes and their sealant
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings.
For landlords with property near Sturry station, mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets. For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Wickhambreaux Church of England Primary School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes. In the older streets around Church of St Mary, bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant.

How the job changes by surface
Shower trays & enclosures
If a tray moves underfoot, new silicone will not last. We check for movement before we reseal, and tell you if it needs re-bedding first.
Sinks & splashbacks
Splashbacks in glass, tile or acrylic meet the worktop in a long joint. It’s resealed in white, clear or a colour to suit.
What affects the cost of bathroom resealing
The price is agreed before any work begins. It’s based on:
- Any mould that needs treating
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
- Working hours on commercial sites
- Access and height
A few things move the cost up or down: the old material and how easily it comes out, whether mould needs treating, and whether the work is at height. Your quote takes all of that into account.
Helping us quote
When you call or email, it’s useful to know:
- The rough size of the job
- How we’d reach the joints
- Photos by email, if that’s easy
- What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
We don’t publish a price list. Instead, we give you a clear quote for your job. To get started, ring 0345 464 0079 or email us.
How the visit works
Once we are on site, we check the joints match what you told us. If we find something unexpected, we talk it through with you first. After that, the work takes two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is. Somewhere as small as Stodmarsh, access is often the only tricky part. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.
- We cover the area around the joints we are working on.
- Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
- We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
- Any bath is filled with water, then we lay a bead of anti-fungal silicone in white, clear or a matching colour.
- We finish the joint, clear up and tell you how long to leave it before it gets wet.
Preparing for the visit
- Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Where the joints are inside, avoid wetting them before we arrive
- Mention any leaks or damp you’ve noticed

Questions from Stodmarsh
Do you work for landlords with property near Sturry station?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can phone 0345 464 0079 or email us with the address and a few details, and we will give you a fixed price before any work starts.
Is Stodmarsh in your area for bathroom resealing?
Yes, Stodmarsh is within the area we cover. We work across London and the South East. Just call 0345 464 0079 or email us with a few details of the job, and we’ll give you a clear price.
Are you insured?
Yes. We are fully insured.
Can mouldy silicone be sorted out?
Yes, we replace the mouldy bead. Sprays can fade the marks, but cutting it out and resealing is what lasts. Airing the room well helps stop it returning.
What do you put in the joint?
Each joint gets the product that suits it. Movement, water and weather all affect the choice, and we will explain our choice.
Are you ARBOMaster approved?
Yes. We are approved under the ARBOMaster scheme, which is run for the Arbo sealant brand.
Where are you based?
We work from Crawley. Our applicators cover Stodmarsh, along with the rest of our area.
When can I use the bath or shower again?
The surface skins over fairly quickly, but the bead needs longer to cure right through. Keep water off it for around 24 hours, or as long as we advise for that product.
What happens if it’s left?
The difference in a professional reseal is mostly what you do not see: removing all the old sealant, degreasing the joint, treating mould and drying it properly. Without that preparation, the new bead won’t last. Around Stodmarsh, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.
What it costs depends on the size of the job, how much old material has to come out and how easy the joints are to reach. We give a clear quote before any work starts, so you know where you stand.

Aftercare tips
Looking after new joints is easy:
- Stick to a soft cloth and a mild cleaner
- Don’t leave water standing on kitchen joints
- Squeegee the walls and tray after use
- Give the silicone its full cure time
Give the silicone time to cure before it gets wet, following the cure time we give you. Once it’s cured, wiping it down after use keeps it looking new.
Worktop joints fail quietly. Splashes run behind the back edge and soak into the worktop, and the board underneath can swell. Resealing before that happens protects the worktop.
