Stevenage Bathroom Resealing
Bath, shower, basin, wet room, worktop and sink resealing in Stevenage, with a 12-month guarantee on every job. Ask us for a quote.
- A joint torn by a bath that flexes
- Lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt
- Two layers of silicone, both failing
Different surfaces, different methods
Basins & vanity units
A vanity top has a joint along the wall and sometimes at the sides. If water gets in, the cabinet underneath can swell, so a neat, continuous bead matters.
Baths
Acrylic baths flex the most, while steel and cast iron baths move less but still settle when full. Filling the bath first allows for that movement.
About our bathroom resealing in Stevenage
A fresh bead of silicone changes how a bathroom looks more than most people expect. Black, patchy sealant makes clean tiles look tired, and a clean white or clear joint fixes it quickly. Just as important, it closes the gaps water would otherwise get through. We work on wet rooms, shower trays & enclosures and basins & vanity units, and people most often call us about damp behind the bath or under the tray and shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop.
Stevenage has offices, shops and other businesses as well as homes, all with washrooms and kitchens that need the same care as a family bathroom. The work is the same in both: old material out, joints cleaned and dried, and a fresh, even finish.
Our work is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you are.

Stevenage: your questions answered
Can you help a landlord with a rental near Stevenage station?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can ring 0345 464 0079 or email us with the address and a few details, and we’ll give you a fixed price before we start.
Is Stevenage in your area for bathroom resealing?
Yes, Stevenage is within the area we cover. We work across London and the South East. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with a few details of the job.
Will the old sealant be removed?
Yes, always, and completely. New sealant will not bond properly to old, so the joint is cleaned back first.
Do I have to be there?
We need access to the joints, so we’ll agree that with you when we book. For inside work, that normally means someone being in.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes. We can plan bigger jobs in stages.
Where do you work from?
We are a Crawley-based firm. We work across South East England, London and Scotland.
What information do you need?
A short description and the location, plus photos if you have them. If we need more, we’ll ask.
Do you guarantee your resealing?
Yes. Our 12-month guarantee covers every job, and we’re ARBOMaster approved applicators.

Work for landlords, hotels and businesses
In hotels, rooms out of use cost money, so the work can be planned room by room around your bookings where we can. We’ve worked in hotels as well as homes and businesses.
We also work for property managers and facilities teams in Stevenage and across Hertfordshire. We can quote a run of properties together, and we’re fully insured for the work.
Keeping the joints in good condition
No joint lasts for ever, but care makes a real difference. Our tips:
- Check the joints every few months for splits or lifting
- Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
- Stick to a soft cloth and a mild cleaner
- Squeegee the walls and tray after use
In a kitchen, don’t let water sit along the back of the worktop. A dry joint lasts longer.
A failed kitchen joint is easy to miss. Splashes run behind the back edge and soak into the worktop, where it can make the board swell. Resealing before that happens protects the worktop.
DIY sealant or a professional job?
Not every job suits DIY: work at height, external movement joints, fire-rated sealant and large areas need the right product, the right access and the right method.
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that is fine. We cut it out and start again, so tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
What we do, step by step
On the day, we start by going over the job with you, so there are no surprises. Surfaces next to the work are protected before work begins. The work usually takes two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is. Where a business in Stevenage needs to stay open, out-of-hours working can be arranged, while home visits are arranged within our normal working hours, Monday to Saturday.
- First the area is protected and every bit of old sealant removed, including the film left on the tiles.
- We clean and degrease the joint and treat any mould.
- Once it’s dry, any bath is filled so the bead is laid with it at its heaviest.
- A single bead of anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied and tooled smooth.
- We clear away and tell you when it can get wet, generally after around 24 hours.
How to prepare
- Mention if the joints have been sealed before
- Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
- For indoor joints, keep the area dry beforehand if you can
How to get a quote
For a quick quote, get us on the phone, or send an email if you’d rather. Describe what needs sealing and we’ll explain what’s involved.
Advice
What happens if it’s left?
Leaving a split or mouldy bead only stores up trouble. Once water is behind the bath, it can reach floorboards, panels and the ceiling underneath, and that is a far bigger job than a reseal. In a large rental market like Stevenage, tired sealant leads to tenant complaints about mould, damp and leaks. It’s simpler to sort between tenants than in the middle of a let.
The cost depends on the size of the job, how much old material has to come out and how easy the joints are to reach. We give a clear quote before work begins.

Bathroom resealing in Stevenage: local notes
Stevenage was built as one of England’s post-war new towns. With many homes dating from the post-war decades, plenty of bathrooms have been resealed or refitted more than once. New sealant won’t stick to old, so the old layers have to come out first. Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
For landlords with property near Stevenage station, mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets. For an older house near a landmark such as St Hugh & St John, bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant. For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Primary School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.
