Hunny Hill Bathroom Resealing
Bath, shower, basin, wet room, worktop and sink resealing for Hunny Hill, backed by a 12-month guarantee. Call for a quick quote.
- Smears of silicone across the tiles
- Water getting behind the kitchen upstand
- Black mould in the silicone that will not clean off
How to look after the new joints
Good habits help new joints last longer. Our tips:
- Avoid abrasive pads on the sealant
- Run the extractor fan during and after every shower
- Dry the bead with a towel now and then
- Don’t leave water standing on kitchen joints
Treat the new bead gently when you clean: warm soapy water and a soft cloth do the job. Avoid scouring pads and anything sharp, because a damaged bead gives mould a foothold.
Do not wait for a refit to deal with failed sealant. Like paintwork, sealant needs renewing from time to time, and renewing it as soon as it fails protects everything around it.
Bathroom resealing for homes and businesses in Hunny Hill
The secret of a lasting bead is the preparation. The old sealant is removed to the last smear, then the joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould. Only once it’s dry does the new bead go on. If you are dealing with mouldy sealant that has gone black and splits where the tray meets the wall, we can help, whatever the surface.
Homes around Hunny Hill range from older cottages to more recent houses. Older homes can move a little with the seasons, which is hard on tired sealant and rigid grout.
We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee.

Let us know what needs doing and where, plus photos if you have them. We will ask anything else we need to know.
How long does the new silicone need before I use the shower?
The surface skins over fairly quickly, but the bead needs longer to cure right through. Keep water off it for around 24 hours, or as long as we advise for that product.

Yes, we do. Domestic, commercial and hotel work are all part of what we do, and we’re fully insured.

Different surfaces, different methods
Wet rooms
Not every wet room leak is a sealant problem. We check the joints and say so if the fault looks to be elsewhere.
Kitchen worktops & upstands
The joint between worktop and wall takes splashes, crumbs and cleaning sprays. The new bead is colour-matched where it shows, so the line doesn’t stand out.
Do you need bathroom resealing in Hunny Hill?
Older sealant shrinks and hardens. Along worktops it tends to pull back from the wall, leaving a thin gap where water and food collect. Hot pans and harsh cleaners do not help.
These are the problems we are asked about most:
- Failed sealant on the screen profile
- Two layers of silicone, both failing
- Lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt
- A joint torn by a bath that flexes
Managing a site like Hunnyhill Primary School? Then its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.

Work for landlords, hotels and businesses
Whether it’s one flat or a portfolio, the work is the same standard: the old material taken out, careful preparation and a 12-month guarantee.
Hotels need rooms back in use, so we plan the work room by room. We have worked in hotels as well as homes and businesses.
The process
We bring everything the job needs with us, so you do not need to buy or prepare anything. Once we’ve agreed what’s being done, the area is protected and the work begins. It normally takes two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is. A visit to Hunny Hill is planned like any other: the time, the access and where to park are agreed in advance. Outdoor jobs depend on a dry day, since sealant needs a dry surface.
- We protect the area and cut out all of the old sealant.
- We clean and degrease the joint and treat any mould.
- We let it dry fully and fill the bath with water before sealing.
- We apply anti-fungal sanitary silicone in one even bead and tool it neatly.
- Finally we tidy up and explain the cure time before we leave.
Preparing for the visit
- For business premises, tell us about site rules or sign-in
- Mention if the joints have been sealed before
- For indoor joints, keep the area dry beforehand if you can

Honest limits
Sealant isn’t the answer to every problem, and we will tell you before any work starts. Sealant will not put right:
- Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
- Tiles that have come away from the wall
- Cracks in the tray itself rather than the joint
If you’re not sure, just phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Surfaces we seal

- Sinks & splashbacks
Should I try it myself first?
Overfilling a joint is a classic DIY mistake. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and the joint depth matters as much as the finish.
The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. Silicone does not stick to old silicone, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. Everything old must be removed first.
