Bathrooms and kitchens in Felderland

Felderland is within about 3 miles of the coast. Near the coast, holiday lets and guest houses can see bathrooms used by one guest after another, which wears sealant and grout out faster than in a quiet home. Felderland has hotels and guest accommodation nearby. As well as homes, we work in hotel bathrooms, where resealing and regrouting can be done room by room.

If you let a flat or house near Sandwich station, fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay. If you live in an older home near Church of St Peter and St Paul, timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.

Felderland is about 4 miles north-west of Deal, in Kent. Anywhere in CT14, we can carry out bathroom resealing at your property. We cover 922 towns and villages across Kent. There’s also a page for Chelmsford, about 49 miles away.

We cover every part of CT14 for bathroom resealing. You will find streets such as Felderland Lane, Felderland Close and Deal Road, all of which we cover. Bathroom resealing in Felderland

The secret of a lasting bead is the preparation. The old sealant is removed to the last smear, after which the joint is degreased and any mould treated. Only once it’s dry does the new bead go on. If you have shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop and leaking joints on a shower screen, we can help, on wet rooms, shower trays & enclosures and kitchen worktops & upstands alike.

Around Felderland, it’s houses and cottages rather than flats. The work is the same as anywhere: everything old comes out before the new sealant or grout goes in.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right with it in that time, tell us and we will put it right.

Should I try it myself first?

Not every job suits DIY: high-level joints, fire-rated gaps, external movement joints and big jobs need the right product, the right access and the right method.

A careful DIYer can reseal a simple joint, like a short, easy-to-reach joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.

How we quote for bathroom resealing

Your quote is based on your job. We take into account:

  • The number of rooms or windows
  • Mould in or behind the old joints
  • The amount of work
  • How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove

There are no prices on our website, because the cost depends so much on the job itself. For a quick quote, please phone 0345 464 0079 or email us.

Helping us quote

What to tell us when you ask for a quote:

  • What’s wrong with the joints now
  • The address or postcode of the job
  • Any access issues, like height or stairs
  • The type of property

There’s no standard price list. Instead, we give you a clear price for your job. To get started, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.

What we are called out for in Felderland

Baths and trays move. An acrylic bath flexes under load, while a poorly supported tray can shift underfoot. That movement works at the bead until it splits or peels away.

Most people get in touch after spotting one of these:

  • Water getting behind the kitchen upstand
  • Black spots spreading through the bead
  • A messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal
  • Leaking joints on a shower screen

If you look after a building such as Sandwich Technology School, washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes.

Looking after it afterwards

No joint lasts for ever, but care makes a real difference. Our tips:

  • Check the joints every few months for splits or lifting
  • Dry the bead with a towel now and then
  • Give the silicone its full cure time
  • Clean with a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth

Mould needs damp, so keep the room aired. Use the fan, or open a window, while you bathe and for a while afterwards, so the silicone gets a chance to dry.

Watch for the early signs: a corner lifting, a gap behind the bead, a dark line under the silicone or a damp patch on the ceiling below. If you spot one, it’s time to reseal.

Felderland questions

Will you come out to Felderland?

Yes. Felderland is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. We work across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

I let a flat near Sandwich station. Can you help?

Yes, we work for landlords and agents. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or email us and tell us about the property, and we’ll give you a clear price.

Can mouldy silicone be sorted out?

Yes. Mould inside the bead rarely cleans out for good, so we cut it out, treat the joint and reseal with anti-fungal silicone.

How long does it take to reseal a bath or shower?

It depends on how many joints there are and how much old sealant has to come out. For most single baths or showers, allow a couple of hours.

Will it make a mess?

No. The area is protected while we work and cleaned up afterwards.

Do you do commercial work?

Yes, regularly. We can plan bigger jobs in stages to suit the site.

Does someone need to be in?

It depends on the job. Inside work needs someone to give us access, and for outside work we will agree access with you when we book.

Will there be a smell?

It depends on the product. Some products have a noticeable smell, others very little.

What happens on the day

Most of a good job is in the preparation, so that’s where we spend the time. Every joint is cleaned and dried before new material goes in. All told, the work takes a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen. Somewhere like Felderland needs a little journey planning: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.

  1. First, each joint is checked for movement and signs of water.
  2. The old silicone is cut out completely, along with the film it leaves on the tiles.
  3. Joints are degreased and any mould is treated.
  4. When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
  5. We tool the bead to a neat finish and give you the cure time, normally around 24 hours.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention if the joints have been sealed before
  • On commercial sites, let us know about site rules
  • Tell us about any water getting in

Shower trays & enclosures

There are generally two jobs in a shower: the tray-to-wall joint and the enclosure joints. Both get soaked every time the shower runs, so each is cut out and renewed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.

Sinks & splashbacks

Around the sink, we use a product suited to kitchens, and a food-safe product where it’s needed. The joint is laid neatly so it’s easy to wipe.

What sealant work can’t fix

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what sealant cannot fix:

  • Failed grout lines across the wall
  • A tray or bath that is cracked through
  • A leaking waste, trap or valve

If you are not sure, just call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we will give you a straight answer before booking.
