East Street Bathroom Resealing

  • Leaks into the floor or ceiling below
  • Leaking joints on a shower screen

Bathroom resealing in East Street, done properly

Showers work their sealant harder than baths. Tray edges, screen profiles and wet room joints all rely on silicone to stay watertight. They’re resealed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone, tooled smooth so water runs off instead of sitting in a ridge. If you’re dealing with failed sealant on the screen profile and leaks into the floor or ceiling below, we can put it right.

Around East Street, it’s houses and cottages rather than flats, some with bathrooms tucked into older rooms or extensions. Sealant and grout wear out here just as they do anywhere: everything old comes out before the new sealant or grout goes in.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with our work within the year, let us know and we’ll sort it.

Mr Mastic applicator sealing the vertical joint between a glass shower screen and tiled wall

Why it’s worth doing now in East Street

Mould removers can fade the surface of a stained bead, but mould that has grown into the sealant tends to return. The lasting answer is to remove the bead and start again. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like East Street, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and older walls, once damp, take a long time to dry.

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one gets its own quote. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all play a part.

Why book with us

  • We are fully insured
  • A choice of colours where the product allows
  • Sanitary silicone with an anti-fungal additive in wet areas
  • Experience in homes, commercial sites and hotels

Can I do it myself?

Some sealant jobs are within reach of a careful DIYer, like a short, easy-to-reach joint indoors. The common mistakes are sealing over old sealant, sealing a damp joint and using far too much.

Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.

Surface by surface

Basins & vanity units

Basins take less water than showers, but the joint behind them is splashed every day. Corners behind basins are where mould tends to start, so it’s cut out and renewed just like a bath joint.

Shower trays & enclosures

There are usually two jobs in a shower: the tray-to-wall joint and the enclosure joints. Both get soaked every time the shower runs, so each is cut out and renewed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.

East Street: your questions answered

Is East Street in your area for bathroom resealing?

Yes. Our work covers London and the South East, and East Street is part of that. You can call 0345 464 0079 or email us and tell us what needs doing, and we’ll give you a clear price.

Is East Street within the area you cover?

Yes, East Street is covered. We work across London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.

Does someone need to be in?

Access is agreed with you when the job is booked. For inside work, that normally means someone being in.

What sealant do you use?

Products from Arbo and Everbuild, among others, picked for each joint. We explain the product when we quote.

Is it messy?

Tidy work is part of the job. We protect what’s around the joints, and the area is left clean when we finish.

Do you hold any approvals?

Yes. We’re ARBOMaster approved, the scheme for applicators of Arbo sealants.

Is there any odour?

Possibly a little. Any smell clears as the sealant cures, and ventilation helps.

Do you work for hotels and businesses?

Yes, regularly. Larger jobs can be planned room by room or area by area.

What we do, step by step

You don’t need to clear the whole room or building before we come, just the space around the work. We protect the rest, and the job takes two to three hours for a typical bath, depending on how much old sealant there is in most cases. Somewhere like East Street needs a little journey planning: let us know about lanes, gates and parking. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.

  1. First the area is protected and every bit of old sealant removed.
  2. The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
  3. The joint is left to dry, and baths are filled with water first.
  4. New anti-fungal silicone goes on in a colour to suit and is tooled to a clean finish.
  5. We tidy up and give you the cure time, usually around 24 hours.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks
  • Try not to wet indoor joints just before the visit
  • Clear items away from the joints we are working on

Bathroom resealing in East Street: local notes

Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.

Letting a property close to Sandwich station? Then mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets. For an older house near a landmark such as Church of St Nicholas, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.

East Street is about 6 miles north-west of Deal, in Kent. East Street gets the same service as everywhere we cover: old sealant removed completely, careful preparation and a one-year guarantee. Across Kent, we cover 922 places, and East Street is one of them. Chelmsford is on our list too, about 47 miles from East Street.

Work in CT3 is quoted and booked the same way as anywhere else. Nearby, we also carry out bathroom resealing in Cooper Street (1 mile north), Marshborough (1 mile south), Woodnesborough (1 mile south), Sandwich (2 miles east) and Great Stonar (2 miles east). Within a short drive, we also cover Canterbury (10 miles west), Margate (8 miles north-east), Dover (10 miles south), Folkestone (15 miles south-west), Ramsgate (6 miles north-east) and Broadstairs (8 miles north-east).

When something else is needed

Honest advice matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what new sealant will not do:

  • Damage behind the tiles that needs a tiler
  • Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
  • Water getting in through the grout rather than the sealant

Not sure which it is? You can call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will tell you honestly before booking.

What we seal

  • Baths
  • Sinks & splashbacks
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & upstands
  • Basins & vanity units

What we are called out for in East Street

Not every tube in the shop is meant for a shower. Acrylic caulk and general-purpose sealants are not designed for a joint that’s wet every day, so they stain, crack or go mouldy before long. Wet areas call for a sanitary silicone with an anti-fungal additive.

Most people get in touch after spotting one of these:

  • Failed sealant on the screen profile
  • Water getting behind the kitchen upstand
  • Black mould in the silicone that will not clean off
  • Lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt

For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Sandwich Technology School, its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.

Choosing a sealant specialist

What affects the quote in East Street

The price is agreed before any work begins. It takes into account:

  • When we can work, for business premises
  • How much there is to do
  • Which sealant suits the joint
  • The number of rooms or windows

What you pay reflects the work, not a rough estimate. That is why we ask about the job first.

What we need to know

There’s no need for technical detail. It helps if you can tell us:

  • What’s wrong with the joints now
  • Pictures of the joints, sent by email
  • Any access issues, like height or stairs
  • Any previous sealing or DIY work

There’s no standard price list. Instead, your job gets its own clear quote. To arrange one, ring 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.
