Bathroom resealing in Ascot, done properly

We fill the bath before sealing it. A full bath sits slightly lower than an empty one, so the new joint isn’t pulled apart the first time it’s used. It’s a small step that rushed reseals tend to skip. If you have leaking joints on a shower screen and water getting behind the bath panel, we can put it right, whatever the surface.

Being in a small place like Ascot makes no difference to the job itself: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.

Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee.

How it works

We keep the work tidy and contained to the area we’re working on. Expect the work to take a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen. For a village or hamlet like Ascot, the journey is planned in advance: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.

  1. We look at every joint first and check for movement or leaks.
  2. Every trace of the old bead is removed, including the thin smear on the tiles.
  3. Joints are degreased and any mould is treated.
  4. When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
  5. We tool the bead to a neat finish and give you the cure time, normally around 24 hours.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any tricky access
  • On commercial sites, let us know about site rules
  • Mention if the joints have been sealed before

FAQs for Ascot

I let a flat near Ascot station. Can you help?

Yes, landlords and agents are among the people we work for. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the address and what needs doing, and we will give you a clear quote.

Do you cover Ascot for bathroom resealing?

Yes. Our work covers London and the South East, and Ascot is part of that. Just call 0345 464 0079 or email us with a few details of the job, and we will give you a clear quote.

Are you ARBOMaster approved?

Yes. ARBOMaster is the approved applicator scheme for Arbo sealants, and we’re part of it.

Can you just seal over the old silicone?

No. A bead laid over old silicone soon starts to come away. We remove the old bead completely before resealing.

Do I need to be at home?

It depends on the job. Inside work needs someone to give us access, while outside work can sometimes be arranged differently.

When can I use the bath or shower again?

We give you the cure time before we leave, and it’s usually around 24 hours. Getting it wet too early can spoil the new joint.

Where are you based?

Our base is Crawley. Our area covers South East England, London and Scotland.

Can you quote for more than one area?

Yes. Just list everything you need and you’ll get one quote.

Why act early in Ascot

Fresh sealant smartens a bathroom or kitchen with very little disruption, which matters if you’re letting a property or selling it. Lumpy sealant with smears on the tiles has the opposite effect, and it’s harder to put right later. Around Ascot, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, and water through a failed joint can rot timber if it’s left.

A failed joint rarely gets cheaper to fix by waiting, as water and mould keep getting in. If you’re not sure whether it needs doing, ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we’ll give you an honest view and a quote.

Bathrooms and kitchens in Ascot

Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.

If you look after a building such as South Ascot Village Primary School, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes. For landlords with property near Ascot station, mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets.

Should I try it myself first?

Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. Silicone does not stick to old silicone, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. All the old material has to come out first.

Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and doesn’t move well, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.

How the job changes by surface

Baths

Acrylic baths flex the most, while steel and cast iron baths move less but still settle when full. Loading the bath with water before sealing allows for it.

Sinks & splashbacks

Around the sink, we use a product suited to kitchens, including a food-safe sealant where that is needed. The joint is laid neatly so it’s easy to wipe.

What sealant work cannot fix

We’d rather tell you now than do work that won’t last, so here’s what sealant cannot put right:

  • Water getting in through the grout rather than the sealant
  • Damage behind the tiles that needs a tiler
  • Leaks from a shower valve, waste or pipework (a plumber’s job)

Not sure which it is? You can call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Surfaces we seal

  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & upstands
  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Sinks & splashbacks
  • Shower trays & enclosures

Do you need bathroom resealing in Ascot?

Baths and trays move. Acrylic in particular gives slightly under the weight of water and a person, and a tray that is not fully bedded can rock. That movement works at the bead until it splits or peels away.

Most people get in touch when they notice something like this:

  • A messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal
  • Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop
  • A joint torn by a bath that flexes
  • Black spots spreading through the bead

In the older streets around Church of All Souls, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first.

What affects the cost of bathroom resealing

For a quick quote, just ask. The main things that affect it are:

  • Mould in or behind the old joints
  • When we can work, for business premises
  • The old material and how stubborn it is
  • The product the joint needs

Rather than a set price list, we price the job in front of us: how many joints, what’s in them now and how we reach them. You’ll know the price before we begin.

What to tell us for a quote

To help us quote quickly, please include:

  • If someone has resealed it before
  • Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
  • Whether it’s a home or a business
  • What’s wrong with the joints now

There’s no standard price list, as no two jobs are quite the same. Instead, we give you a clear quote for your job. To arrange one, ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.
