How we handle gutter sealing in Ascot
We don’t replace gutters, fascias or roofs. What sealant does is close joints; it won’t fix a broken bracket, a cracked section or a blocked downpipe. If you have water dripping where gutter sections meet and streaks down the brickwork from a leaking joint, we can help, whatever the surface.
Around Ascot, older buildings can be stone, brick or timber-framed, many with extensions added later. Where one material meets another is where water normally gets in.
Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee in Ascot and across Windsor and Maidenhead.

Gutter sealing in Ascot: local notes
Rainfall in the South East is lower than in much of the UK, but outside sealant still needs a dry, clean surface, so outdoor work is planned around the forecast. Historic houses like St Leonard's Hill (about 4.1 miles north) are a reminder that the area around Ascot has older buildings as well as new. Where a home is older, older brick and stone need a sealant that suits them, at the right joint depth.
In the older streets around Church of All Souls, older walls, gutters and the joints where extensions meet them need a flexible sealant. If you let a flat or house near Ascot station, a gutter joint that drips onto the wall can turn into a damp complaint, so it’s worth checking.

What else we do in Ascot
When to call us in Ascot
Sealant laid on a wet or dirty joint fails early. Rushed repairs often don’t last long.
The problems people usually mention when they call include:
- Old sealant on roofline trims that has split
- End caps that drip every time it rains
- Water dripping where gutter sections meet
- Old gutter sealant that has let go
If you look after a building such as South Ascot Village Primary School, movement joints, cladding joints and gutters on larger buildings need the same care as a house’s.

For landlords and businesses
From a single let to a portfolio, the work is the same standard: the old material taken out, careful preparation and a 12-month guarantee.
Failed sealant is one of the commonest items on a check-out report. Several properties can go on one quote.
Aftercare tips
A little care helps the new joints last. Our advice:
- Get leaks sealed before the wet months
- Look at the gutters while it’s raining
- Do not leave a sagging gutter
- Don’t lean ladders against the gutter itself
Have a look at the gutter during a downpour now and then. It’s the easiest time to see a leak.
Rain getting in round a garage door frame can damage what’s stored inside. A reseal sorts it.
When something else is needed
In fairness, some problems need a different trade:
- Downpipes that are blocked or broken
- Cracked, split or warped gutter sections
- Brackets that have snapped or loosened

How we quote for gutter sealing
There’s no set price list, because no two jobs are the same. The quote depends on:
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
- How easy the joints are to reach
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
- The size of the job
Some things make a job bigger or smaller: how much old sealant there is and how stubborn it is, any mould to treat, and whether we need extra access for height. We take all of that into account in your quote.
Asking for a quote
To help us quote quickly, please include:
- Photos by email, if that’s easy
- Where the job is, and your postcode
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
- What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
We quote each job on its own, so the first step is telling us about yours. Simply phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and describe the job, and photos are welcome.
Should I try it myself first?
A careful DIYer can reseal a simple joint, such as a straightforward joint indoors. The common mistakes are sealing over old sealant, sealing a damp joint and using far too much.
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. Silicone does not stick to old silicone, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. Everything old must be removed first.
How the visit works
We keep the work tidy and contained to the joints we are treating, so you can carry on as normal. Expect the work to take an hour or two for a few joints, longer for a full run, and we explain the cure time before we leave. Somewhere as small as Ascot, access is often the only tricky part. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.
- We find where the water is coming from and check the gutter is sound.
- We remove the old sealant and clean the joint.
- We dry the joint so the new sealant can bond.
- A gutter sealant is applied to the joint.
- We check the run and clear debris near the joints.
How to prepare
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules
- Tell us if parking is tricky
- Mention any tricky access

It all starts with a short chat. Describe the problem, the location and the size of the job, and we will explain how we’d tackle it. When it suits you, ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.
Related advice
Ascot: your questions answered
Will you come out to Ascot?
Yes, we do. Our work covers London and the South East, and smaller places are part of that. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
Can you help a landlord with a rental near Ascot station?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and tell us about the property, and we will give you a clear quote.
Will you clear out my gutters?
We clear debris near the joints because the joint must be clean. Cleaning the whole run is a separate job.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes. We have worked for hotels, offices and other businesses, and we’re fully insured.
Can you seal fascia and soffit joints?
Yes, often alongside gutter joints. Each joint is cleaned and sealed with a suitable exterior sealant.
Is it messy?
Very little: the area around the joints is protected first, and we tidy up before we go.
Should I try DIY first?
That depends on the joint. Work at height, movement joints, fire-rated gaps and large areas are best left to a professional.
What information do you need?
Where the job is, what the problem is and roughly how big it is. Photos by email help too.
