About our regrouting in Ascot
A grout colour change can freshen a room without retiling. Light grout can go darker to hide marks, or the other way round. Tell us what you have in mind when you ask for a quote. We work on kitchen splashbacks, bathroom wall tiles and wet rooms, and common reasons people get in touch are a grout colour that no longer suits the room and discoloured grout on otherwise sound tiles.
Being in a small place like Ascot makes no difference to the job itself: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.
Each job carries a 12-month guarantee, large or small.

For landlords and businesses
We work for letting agents and landlords as well as householders. Sealant work between tenants keeps a property looking cared for before the next move-in.
If you manage several properties in or around Ascot, several properties can go on one quote. Send us the addresses and the work at each, and photos by email help.
Signs you need regrouting in Ascot
Movement behind the tiles cracks grout. That can be a loose tile, a flexing floor or a stud wall, so we check the tiles before we start.
Keep an eye out for any of the following:
- Cracked or crumbling grout lines
- Cracked grout along the bath or tray
- Floor grout that has worn and darkened
- A grout colour that no longer suits the room
Managing a site like South Ascot Village Primary School? Then we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.
What your quote should include
- How much experience the applicator has
- What happens if they find a problem under the old sealant
- What guarantee comes with the work
- Are they insured?
When it isn’t the sealant
A few problems are outside what sealant work can do:
- A floor or wall that keeps moving
- A leaking wet room membrane
- Damaged tiles that need replacing

Ascot: your questions answered
Do you cover Ascot for regrouting?
Yes, Ascot is within the area we cover. Our work covers London and the South East. You can call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and tell us what needs doing.
Do you work for landlords with property near Ascot station?
Yes, landlords and agents are among the people we work for, and several properties can be quoted together. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the address and what needs doing, and we’ll send you a clear quote.
Do the sealants smell?
Possibly a little. It fades as the sealant cures.
Is it OK to seal over old sealant?
No. Fresh sealant does not stick to old sealant, and anything trapped underneath, including mould and water, stays there. We remove it all first.
Will regrouting fix loose tiles?
If tiles are loose, something behind them has generally failed. Regrouting alone isn’t the answer, and we will tell you before any work starts.
How long does the job take?
A typical job takes a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room. Your quote will say how long we expect yours to take.
Do you work for hotels and businesses?
Yes. Commercial and hotel work is a large part of what we do. We can talk about working times when we quote.
Can you do several jobs on one visit?
Yes, we can. Several rooms, windows or areas can go on one quote.
What we do, step by step
All our tools and materials come with us in the van, so you do not need to buy or prepare anything. Once we’ve agreed what’s being done, we protect the area and start. Most jobs take a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room. For a village or hamlet like Ascot, the journey is planned in advance: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. We bring what the job needs, so it can be finished in one trip where possible.
- Every tile area is checked for hollow or loose tiles first.
- The old grout is removed to an even depth.
- We vacuum the joints so the new grout bonds.
- We regrout the joints and clean the tile faces.
- Silicone goes into the corners and along the edges.
Getting ready for the visit
- Mention any leaks or damp you’ve noticed
- Tell us if parking is tricky
- Tell us about any previous sealing or DIY attempts

Advice

Bathrooms and kitchens in Ascot
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings.
Rented homes near Ascot station change hands often, and a regrout while the flat is empty is quicker than working around a tenant. For an older house near a landmark such as Church of All Souls, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.

Different surfaces, different methods
Bathroom wall tiles
We can regroute all the walls in a bathroom, depending on size. You can change the colour at the same time.
Shower walls
Shower walls get wet every day, so its grout takes the most punishment. It’s often the first place grout washes out.
Why deal with it now?
If tiles are loose, regrouting alone isn’t the answer. We’ll tell you before we start so you know what’s involved. On sound tiles, regrouting avoids the upheaval of a retile. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like Ascot, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.
Some things make a job bigger or smaller: the old material and how easily it comes out, whether mould needs treating, and whether we need extra access for height. We take all of that into account in your quote.
