How we handle regrouting in Padanaram
Regrouting suits shower walls, bathroom floors, kitchen splashbacks and wet rooms. Some jobs are a whole room, or just the area that has failed. Either way, tiled areas in Padanaram are handled the same careful way. If you have splashback grout that has darkened and corners filled with grout instead of silicone, we can help.
In and around a place like Padanaram, homes range from older stone-built properties to newer houses. Older buildings can move a little, and that shows first in cracked grout and split sealant.
We stand behind the work with a 12-month guarantee.

Landlord and commercial work in Padanaram
Businesses can book us for washrooms, kitchens, offices and more. On commercial sites, working times can be discussed when we quote.
Hotels need rooms back in use, so the work can be planned room by room. Hotel work is part of what we do, alongside homes and businesses.
DIY versus a professional finish
What a professional job adds is preparation and the right product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is chosen for how the joint moves and where it is, and the work is guaranteed for a year.
A DIY attempt doesn’t rule out a professional job. We remove it and do the joint properly.

What else we do in Padanaram
Do you need regrouting in Padanaram?
Grout used in corners or along the bath cracks because those joints flex. They need flexible sealant, and when they are not, water gets in.
If you can see any of these, it’s time to have the joints looked at:
- Dirty, worn grout on a tiled floor
- Cracked or crumbling grout lines
- Grout stained black or orange that will not clean
- Grout that makes sound tiles look old
Around Padanaram, as everywhere, regrouting is only as good as the preparation behind it.

How it works
On the day, there’s very little for you to do. Point us to the joints and we’ll get on with it. The job generally takes a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room from start to finish. Outside jobs in Padanaram need a dry day, because sealant will not bond to a wet joint, so external jobs may need to move if the day turns wet. Indoor work goes ahead whatever the weather.
- Every tile area is checked for hollow or loose tiles first.
- The old grout is removed to an even depth.
- The joints are vacuumed clean.
- We regrout the joints and clean the tile faces.
- We finish with silicone in the moving joints.
Getting ready for the visit
- Where the joints are inside, avoid wetting them before we arrive
- Let us know about stairs, lifts or work at height
- Keep pets and children clear of the area while we work

Related advice
Different surfaces, different methods
Wet rooms
Regrouting a wet room helps keep water on the surface of the tiles. It does not repair failed tanking underneath.
Shower walls
A shower wall is soaked daily, so its grout takes the most punishment. It usually fails first.
Questions from Padanaram
Do you cover Padanaram for regrouting?
Yes. We work across all of Scotland, and Padanaram is part of that. Just email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk with a few details of the job.
What guarantee comes with regrouting in Padanaram?
Every job comes with our one-year guarantee, wherever it is. We are also fully insured and ARBOMaster approved.
Do you reseal at the same time?
Yes, in most cases. Fresh grout next to old, mouldy silicone would look odd and could still leak.
Can you change the grout colour?
Yes. With the old grout removed, the new colour fills the whole joint rather than sitting on top.
What do you need from me for a quote?
The location, the problem and the rough size of the job. Photos by email help too.
Where do you work from?
Our base is in Crawley, and we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. We work for householders, landlords, letting agents, businesses and hotels in Padanaram.
Can you seal over the old sealant?
No, because it fails. The old sealant always comes out first, so the new joint bonds to clean surfaces.
What affects the cost of regrouting
The quote reflects the job in front of us. We take into account:
- Which sealant suits the joint
- The number of rooms or windows
- The size of the job
- Whether there’s mould to deal with
Homes and businesses are quoted the same way: the amount of work, the access and the products needed, plus any working-time requirements on site. Call for a quick quote and we’ll explain what it covers.
What to tell us for a quote
Photos help, but a description is a good start. Try to tell us:
- The rough size of the job
- Whether it has been sealed before
- A few photos by email, if you can
- What’s wrong with the joints now
Quotes start with a quick conversation. Tell us what’s wrong, where it is and how much there is, and we will explain how we’d tackle it. When it suits you, drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk.
Aftercare tips
Once the sealant has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Use gentle cleaners on grout
- Rinse soap off the tiles after each shower
- Skip wire brushes and scourers
- Use a squeegee on the tiles after showering
We’ll tell you when the area can be used again. Please follow it, and go gently on the grout at first.
Small problems with grout are quick to put right. Left for a few years, they can become a leak so it’s worth dealing with as soon as you spot it.
Bathrooms and kitchens in Padanaram
Scotland’s water is generally soft, so sealant and grout see less limescale than in much of England. But mould still grows into sealant and grout in a room that does not dry out. In Scotland, private landlords have to meet the Repairing Standard, which includes keeping fixtures and fittings in reasonable repair. Failed sealant around a bath or shower is worth sorting between tenancies.
Whether the job is in Padanaram itself or nearby, the right material for each joint matters as much as a neat finish.
