Regrouting in Clackmannan, Clackmannanshire
Professional regrouting in and around Clackmannan, with every bit of old sealant taken out first and a 12-month guarantee.
- Greasy, stained grout behind the hob
- Corners filled with grout instead of silicone
- Floor grout that won’t come clean
How we handle regrouting in Clackmannan
We check the tiles before any grout comes out. Loose or hollow tiles are pointed out first, because regrouting will not fix what’s behind them. Where the tiles are sound, regrouting gives the area a new lease of life. We work on bathroom floors, tiled floors and kitchen splashbacks, and common reasons people get in touch are a grout colour that no longer suits the room and dirty, worn grout on a tiled floor.
In and around a place like Clackmannan, homes range from older stone-built properties to newer houses. Older buildings can move a little, and that shows first in cracked grout and split sealant.
There’s a 12-month guarantee on every job.

Your questions about regrouting in Clackmannan
Is Clackmannan within the area you cover?
Yes. Clackmannan is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our work covers the whole of Scotland. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Can you do regrouting in Clackmannan?
Yes, Clackmannan is within the area we cover. We work across all of Scotland. Just drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk with a few details of the job, and we’ll send you a clear quote.
Is it OK to seal over old sealant?
No, it will not last. It can look neat for a few weeks, but the new bead soon lifts. Removing the old sealant completely is the only lasting way.
How do I get a quote for regrouting in Clackmannan?
It depends on the job, so we quote each one individually. To get one, send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk and let us know what needs doing and where.
Can you quote for more than one area?
Yes, we can. More than one area can go on one quote.
Could my grout be a different colour after regrouting?
Yes. Many clients do. Darker grout can hide marks and lighter grout gives a fresher look.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. We’re fully insured.
Will it make a mess?
No. We work neatly, protect the area around the joints and tidy up afterwards.
What we can’t put right
In fairness, there are a few things sealant will not fix:
- A leaking wet room membrane
- Tiles that are chipped or split
- Tiles that are loose or hollow behind
If you’re not sure, just send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

How to look after the new joints
No joint lasts for ever, but care makes a real difference. A few tips:
- Wipe water off the walls when you are done
- Rinse the tiles after showering
- Run the extractor fan during and after a shower
- Clean with a soft brush, not anything metal
Clean the grout with a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft brush. Keep harsh bleach and acid limescale removers away from it, as they can break grout down.
If grout in the shower is washing out, act soon. Each shower drives water into the open joints and it can end up in the wall or the ceiling below.
What we do, step by step
On the day, we start by going over the job with you. We protect the surfaces around the joints before any work begins. The work generally takes anything from a few hours to a full day, depending on the area. Outside jobs in Clackmannan need a dry day, because sealant will not bond to a wet joint, so external jobs may need to move if the day turns wet. Work indoors isn’t affected.
- We start by checking the tiles for any that are loose or hollow.
- The old grout comes out to a consistent depth, without damaging the tiles.
- The joints are vacuumed and cleaned.
- We fill the joints with new grout, then clean the tiles.
- We reseal the internal corners and edges with silicone.

Regrouting in Clackmannan: local notes
Clackmannan is within about 2 miles of the coast. Coastal homes, holiday lets and guest houses can see heavy bathroom use in busy months, and sealant and grout that work that hard wear out sooner. In Scotland, private landlords have to meet the Repairing Standard, which covers keeping fixtures and fittings in a reasonable state of repair. Failed sealant around a bath or shower is worth sorting between tenancies.
Letting a property close to Alloa station? Then a regrout while the flat is empty is quicker than working around a tenant. Homes close to Parish Church and Churchyard include some older properties, and walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first.

What affects the quote in Clackmannan
There’s no set price list, because jobs vary so much. The quote depends on:
- When we can work, for business premises
- The product the joint needs
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
- The number of rooms or windows
Commercial jobs are quoted on the same basis as homes: the amount of work, the access and the products needed. Call for a quick quote and we’ll go through it with you.
Helping us quote
When you call or email, these details help:
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
- A few pictures by email, if you can
- What’s wrong with the joints now
- The rough size of the job
Asking for a quote is easy: let us know the job and the location, and roughly how big it is. A few pictures by email make the job easier to understand, and we’ll take it from there.
Different surfaces, different methods
Shower walls
Shower walls get wet every day, so grout there works hardest. It usually fails first.
Bathroom floors
Regrouting a floor brightens the whole room. The edges where floor meets wall or bath get silicone.
Signs you need regrouting in Clackmannan
Some grout fails because it was mixed or laid badly. If it was mixed too wet or not pressed in firmly tends to wash out early.
If you can see any of these, it’s time to have the joints looked at:
- Stained grout that cleaning won’t shift
- Grout washed out of a shower
- Old grout in a dated colour
- Greasy, stained grout behind the hob
For site and facilities teams at buildings such as Alloa Academy, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.
