Our bathroom resealing service in ME2
Kitchens need the same care as bathrooms. The joint between worktop and wall, the edge of the sink and the bottom of the splashback all take splashes every day, and water that gets into the back edge of a worktop can swell the board. Kitchen joints get a sealant suited to kitchens, colour-matched where it shows. Typical jobs include a reseal done over the top of the old bead and mouldy sealant that has gone black, across shower trays & enclosures, sinks & splashbacks and kitchen worktops & upstands.
Before we leave, we go over the finished joints with you. The visit itself generally takes a morning or an afternoon for most single baths and showers, depending on the amount of work.
- Protection goes down around the bath, shower or worktop.
- We cut away the old sealant and clean off what’s left.
- We treat any mould and let the joint dry properly.
- Any bath is filled with water, then we lay a bead of anti-fungal silicone in white, clear or a matching colour.
- We finish the joint, clear up and tell you how long to leave it before it gets wet.

Other local landmarks include Fort Pitt Grammar School (1 mile south-east), Broomhill Park (1 mile north-west), Former Ordnance Store At Chatham Gun Wharf (1.2 miles east) and Temple School (1.2 miles north). Green spaces nearby include Gad's Hill and Rede Common.
Where we work in ME2
In ME2, bathroom resealing takes in flats, houses, rentals and businesses, from Rochester, Strood and Rochester Riverside to the quieter places in between. Wherever the job is, all the old material comes out before anything new goes in.
London and the South East have homes from every era, from period terraces to post-war new towns and new estates. Each needs the right sealant for its age and materials, wherever it is in ME2. Along the coast in ME2, holiday lets and guest houses can have bathrooms in near-constant use, so their sealant and grout wear faster than most.
Rochester: For an older house near a landmark such as Church of St Nicholas, walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first. For landlords with property near Rochester station, fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay.
What affects the quote in ME2
You’ll get a clear quote before any work starts. It takes into account:
- When we can work, for business premises
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
- Mould in or behind the old joints
- Access and height
The cost reflects the work involved, not guesswork. That’s why we ask a few questions first and agree the price before starting.
Asking for a quote
Before you ask for a quote, have a think about:
- Photos by email, if that’s easy
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
- Roughly how big the job is
- How we’d reach the joints
Quotes start with a quick conversation. Tell us what’s wrong, where it is and how much there is, and we will talk you through what we’d do. Whenever you’re ready, call 0345 464 0079 or email us.
Different surfaces, different methods
Baths
Most bath leaks begin along the long edge, particularly where there’s a shower over the bath. It gets one smooth bead of anti-fungal silicone, tooled so water cannot sit on it.
Basins & vanity units
Vanity units have long, worktop-style joints against the wall. If water gets in, the cabinet underneath can swell, so the joint is sealed in one unbroken line.
Why deal with it now?
The difference in a professional reseal is mostly what you don’t see: cutting out every trace of the old bead, cleaning, treating mould and letting the joint dry. Skip those steps and even the best silicone fails early.
Comparing quotes
- Are they insured?
- How much experience the applicator has
- What product goes in the joint
- Which colour the sealant will be
Looking after it afterwards
Simple care keeps the joints in good condition. We recommend:
- Squeegee the walls and tray after use
- Keep bottles off the sealant line
- Do not leave water standing on kitchen joints
- Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
Wipe up standing water along the worktop joint and keep hot pans away from the silicone. The drier the joint stays, the longer it lasts.
Do not wait for a refit to deal with failed sealant. Sealant is a maintenance item, like the paint on a window frame, and renewing it as soon as it fails protects everything around it.
Work for landlords, hotels and businesses
We also work for businesses, from offices to washrooms and kitchens. On commercial sites, working times can be discussed when we quote.
A neglected joint can let water reach the structure, which matters even more when someone else lives there. Keeping joints in good order is simple maintenance.
Your questions about bathroom resealing in ME2
Do I have to be there?
It depends on the job. For work indoors, someone needs to let us in, and for outside work we will agree access with you when we book.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
Can I choose the colour of the sealant?
Most people choose white or clear, and other colours are available to suit tiles, trays and worktops. Let us know your preference when you ask for a quote.
Can you get rid of the black mould in my sealant?
Yes. The old sealant comes out, the mould is treated, and we reseal with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.
Is there any odour?
That depends on the sealant. Some products have a noticeable smell, others very little.
Do you come to ME2?
Yes. From our base in Crawley, we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland, and that includes ME2.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes. Larger jobs can be planned room by room or area by area.
