Culloden Glazing Silicone
Problem with your glazing joints in Culloden? We cut out the old, prepare the joints and apply the right sealant, and the work is guaranteed for a year.
- Water getting into a conservatory at the joints
- Leaks from the base of a shower screen
- Leaking glazing joints on a rooflight
What the job involves on each surface
Rooflights
Rooflight leaks can come from the sealant or the roof. We check which it is.
Glass-to-glass joints
You see these joints clearly, so a straight, even finish matters.
Glazing silicone in Culloden, done properly
Glass replacement isn’t something we do, and misting between panes means a failed sealed unit. Our work is the sealant joints, which is where many leaks start. Common call-outs are for sealant that was laid over old silicone and failed and mouldy sealant around glass panels, on rooflights, conservatory frames and glass-to-frame joints.
Across smaller places in Scotland, homes range from stone and harled cottages to newer houses, many standing in the open. Exposed frames and sills take the full force of wind-driven rain.
You are covered for a year from the day we finish. If anything is not right with it, email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk.

Frames and glazing around Culloden
Culloden is close to the coast, and homes near the sea take more wind-driven rain, with salt in the air closer to the shore. Both are hard on glazing joints and frame seals, which can dry out and crack sooner where a building faces the weather. Private landlords in Scotland must meet the Repairing Standard, which includes keeping a home wind and watertight, and failed outside joints work against that.
Schools such as Culloden Academy are buildings too, and the mastic around its windows and doors needs looking after like any other building’s. For landlords with property near Inverness station, a shower screen or conservatory joint that leaks is easier to reseal while the property is empty. For an older house near a landmark such as Barn Church, replacement windows fitted into old openings often leave uneven gaps that need backing and a flexible joint.
Culloden is about 1 mile north-east of Cradlehall, in Highland. Across the IV2 area, we can carry out glazing silicone at your property. We cover 253 towns and villages across Highland, large and small. For nearby work, see our Aberdeen page, about 79 miles away.
Postcode districts we cover here for glazing silicone: IV2. We cover properties on Keppoch Road, Hazel Avenue and Loch Lann Road. For island and remote addresses, the job takes a little more planning, so mention it when you ask for a quote.

Why act early in Culloden
Replacing windows or a shower screen is not needed for a failed joint. Sound glass and frames usually just need resealing. Around Culloden, water from a failed joint in an older stone home can soak into timber and plaster.
What it costs depends on the size of the job, how hard the old material is to remove and access to the work. We give a clear quote before any work starts.

Quotes for glazing silicone in Culloden
For a quick quote, just ask. What matters most is:
- The product the joint needs
- The size of the job
- When we can work, for business premises
- How many areas need sealing
No two jobs are quite the same, so each one gets its own quote. Size, access and the product the joint needs all make a difference, and we’ll explain the quote if you ask.
What we need to know
To make quoting easier, please include:
- The type of property
- Where the job is, and your postcode
- Any access issues, like height or stairs
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
For a quote, send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk and tell us where the job is and what the problem looks like. We’ll give you a clear quote before any work starts.
When it isn’t the sealant
New sealant can’t fix everything, and we’d rather say so up front. Sealant will not put right:
- Glass that needs replacing
- Rotten or badly damaged frames
- Leaks from the roof covering or flashing (a roofer’s job)
Not sure which it is? You can drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we will tell you honestly.
What we seal
- Shower screens
- Glass-to-frame joints
- Glass-to-glass joints
- Conservatory frames
- Rooflights
- Glass balustrade bases
Looking after it afterwards
Good habits help new joints last longer. A few tips:
- Avoid strong solvents on or near the sealant
- Squeegee the shower screen after each use
- Ventilate the conservatory to cut condensation
- Do not use a blade near the sealant
Clear the conservatory gutters regularly, so water drains away from the joints. Overflowing gutters can cause leaks of their own.
Conservatory leaks rarely stay small. Water travels along the frame and into the wall so it’s best dealt with right away.
