Bathroom resealing in Yaverland, done properly

Across Yaverland, the joints we reseal are the ones that fail in any home: the long edge of the bath, the base of the shower tray, the back of the basin and the line along the worktop. Each one is stripped, cleaned and dried before new silicone goes in. If you have gaps where the bath or tray has moved and a messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal, we can put it right, on wet rooms, shower trays & enclosures and kitchen worktops & upstands alike.

Homes around Yaverland are mostly houses and cottages rather than flats. Sealant and grout wear out here just as they do anywhere: everything old comes out before the new sealant or grout goes in.

You are covered for a year from the day we finish. If anything isn’t right with it, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.

Different surfaces, different methods

Sinks & splashbacks

Splashbacks in glass, tile or acrylic meet the worktop in a long joint. It’s resealed in white, clear or a colour to suit.

Kitchen worktops & upstands

Kitchen joints need more degreasing than bathroom ones, because cooking grease stops sealant bonding. The extra cleaning is what makes the bead last.

Quotes for bathroom resealing in Yaverland

Jobs vary more than people expect. What affects the quote:

  • The type of sealant required
  • The old material and how stubborn it is
  • How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
  • When we can work, for business premises

Combining jobs into one visit is generally more efficient than separate visits, so it’s worth mentioning everything you’d like done. You will get one clear quote for the whole job.

What we need to know

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote. When you ask for a quote, tell us:

  • How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
  • If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
  • Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
  • A few photos by email, if you can

There’s no standard price list. Instead, your job gets its own clear quote. To get started, ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.

When to call us in Yaverland

Silicone does not last for ever. Every shower, every splash and every wipe with a cleaner take their toll over the years, and how long it lasts comes down to use, cleaning and ventilation.

People normally contact us when they notice one of these:

  • A reseal done over the top of the old bead
  • Lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt
  • Mouldy sealant that has gone black
  • Shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop

Letting a property close to Brading station? Then mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets.

Your questions about bathroom resealing in Yaverland

Do you work in hotels near Yaverland?

Yes, we work for hotels as well as homes and businesses. A room-by-room programme keeps most rooms in use while the work goes on.

Will you come out to Yaverland?

Yes. Yaverland is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. We work across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

What should I tell you?

Only a few details: where it is, what you’ve noticed and how we reach it. Then ring 0345 464 0079 or email us.

Is there any odour?

Sometimes, a little. It fades as the sealant cures.

Will it make a mess?

No. We protect the surfaces around the joints, and we clear up the old sealant and our materials before we leave.

When can I use the bath or shower again?

Around 24 hours is typical, and we confirm the time for the product used. Getting it wet too early can spoil the new joint.

Can tenants book the work?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Are you an approved applicator?

Yes. ARBOMaster is the approved applicator scheme for Arbo sealants, and we’re part of it.

How to look after the new joints

No joint lasts for ever, but care makes a real difference. Our tips:

  • Never pick at the silicone with a blade
  • Stick to a soft cloth and a mild cleaner
  • Look for lifting corners and small gaps now and then
  • Wipe up water along the back of the worktop

Wipe up standing water along the worktop joint and keep hot pans away from the silicone. The drier the joint stays, the longer it lasts.

Mould that starts as a few spots spreads through the bead. When it has grown right through, it rarely cleans out. Replacing the sealant early keeps the job small.

DIY versus a professional finish

The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. New silicone will not bond to old, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. Everything old must be removed first.

What a professional job adds is preparation and the right product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is matched to the joint and its conditions.

What we can’t put right

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • Loose or hollow tiles, or failed tanking behind them
  • Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
  • Cracks in the tray itself rather than the joint

Not sure which it is? You can ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we’ll tell you honestly.

Surfaces we seal

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & upstands
  • Sinks & splashbacks
  • Baths

How the visit works

Most of a good job is in the preparation, and we don’t rush it. Every joint is cleaned and dried before new material goes in. All told, the work takes around two hours for one bath or shower, longer for a whole bathroom. For a village or hamlet like Yaverland, the journey is planned in advance: tell us about narrow lanes, gates, long drives and where we can park. Everything for the job comes with us, so a second trip is avoided where possible.

  1. First the area is protected and every bit of old sealant removed, including the film left on the tiles.
  2. We clean and degrease the joint and treat any mould.
  3. The joint is left to dry, and baths are filled with water first.
  4. We apply anti-fungal sanitary silicone in one even bead and tool it neatly.
  5. Finally we tidy up and explain the cure time before we leave.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us about any previous sealing or DIY attempts
  • For business premises, tell us about site rules or sign-in
  • For indoor joints, keep the area dry beforehand if you can
