Tongue Bathroom Resealing
Our applicators work in Tongue on bath, shower, basin, wet room, worktop and sink resealing. Old sealant removed completely, joints prepared properly and every job guaranteed for a year.
- Damp behind the bath or under the tray
- Black spots spreading through the bead
- Water escaping at the shower enclosure
DIY versus a professional finish
A careful DIYer can reseal a simple joint, like a short, easy-to-reach joint indoors. The common mistakes are sealing over old sealant, sealing a damp joint and using far too much.
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that’s fine. We cut it out and start again.
Bathroom resealing in Tongue
Mr Mastic has more than 20 years’ experience of sealant work, and our applicators reseal bathrooms and kitchens across Tongue. We are fully insured ARBOMaster approved applicators, and every job carries our one-year guarantee. Typical jobs include damp behind the bath or under the tray and cracked, shrunken or lifting silicone, on sinks & splashbacks, shower trays & enclosures and wet rooms.
Across smaller places in Scotland, homes range from stone and harled cottages to newer houses. Older buildings can move a little, and that shows first in cracked grout and split sealant.
Our work is backed for twelve months, in Tongue and everywhere else we cover.

For landlords and businesses
A neglected joint can let water reach the structure, which matters even more when someone else lives there. Resealing at the right time is simple maintenance.
We also work for businesses, from offices to washrooms and kitchens. On commercial sites, working times can be discussed when we quote.
Surface by surface
Basins & vanity units
Basins take less water than showers, but the joint behind them is splashed every day. Corners behind basins are where mould tends to start, so it’s cut out and renewed just like a bath joint.
Sinks & splashbacks
Water getting under the rim of an inset sink can soak the worktop. Where the sealant around the visible edge has failed, we renew it.
When to call us in Tongue
Sealant laid on a damp, dusty or greasy joint never bonds properly. Soap residue, oils and leftover silicone film all get in the way, and a joint that looked fine soon begins to come away.
Look out for these signs:
- Mouldy sealant that has gone black
- Gaps where the bath or tray has moved
- Leaks into the floor or ceiling below
- A reseal done over the top of the old bead
Homes close to St Andrew's Church include some older properties, and walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first.
What your quote should include
- What preparation is included
- Whether the sealant suits the joint
- Are they insured?
- How much experience the applicator has
Why it’s worth doing now in Tongue
You do not need a new bathroom because the sealant looks bad. A new bead often brings the whole room back, as long as the fittings themselves are sound. If we find a deeper problem, you’ll hear it from us. In a place like Tongue, small leaks are easy to put off, but water through a failed joint keeps working away until it’s fixed.
Doing several joints on one visit normally makes better use of the time than several visits, so it’s worth mentioning everything you’d like done. We’ll send you a clear quote for the lot.

Tongue: your questions answered
Can you do bathroom resealing in Tongue?
Yes. Our work covers the whole of Scotland, and Tongue is part of that. You can drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk and tell us what needs doing, and we will give you a clear price.
Do you cover smaller places like Tongue?
Yes. Tongue is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our work covers the whole of Scotland. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
What information do you need?
Only a few details: where it is, what you’ve noticed and how we reach it. After that, simply drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk.
Do you hold any approvals?
Yes. We hold ARBOMaster approved applicator status.
Do you work for letting agents?
Yes. We work for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, businesses and hotels across Highland.
Do you do kitchens as well as bathrooms?
Yes. We reseal worktop upstands, sinks and splashbacks, with a sealant suited to kitchens, colour-matched where it shows.
Can mouldy silicone be sorted out?
Yes, we can. The old sealant comes out, the mould is treated, and we reseal with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.
What colours of sealant can you use?
There’s a choice: white, clear and colours to suit tiles and worktops. We can help you pick when we quote.
The process
A visit follows a simple pattern: we check the joints, protect the area around them, do the work and tidy away. Most jobs take half a day or less for one room, longer when the kitchen is included. For a place like Tongue, longer drives are planned in advance. Mention tracks, gates, ferries or anything else about the route.
- We cover the area around the joints we’re working on.
- Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
- Mould is treated, then the joint is left to dry thoroughly.
- Baths are filled first, then anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied in a colour to suit.
- We finish the joint, clear up and tell you how long to leave it before it gets wet.
Preparing for the visit
- Tell us about access, such as stairs, a lift or high-level joints
- Where the joints are inside, avoid wetting them before we arrive
- Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
How to get a quote
We quote each job on its own, so the first step is telling us about yours. Simply drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk and describe the job, and photos are welcome.

- A bath or tray that moves because it isn’t properly supported
- A cracked shower tray or bath (that needs repair or replacement)
- Damage behind the tiles that needs a tiler
