Stone Hill Bathroom Resealing
Bath, shower, basin, wet room, worktop and sink resealing for homes and businesses in Stone Hill and across Kent. Fully insured, ARBOMaster approved and guaranteed for a year.
- Gaps where the bath or tray has moved
- Smears of silicone across the tiles
- A bead that has pulled away from the tiles
Bathroom resealing in Stone Hill
It isn’t only bathrooms. Worktop upstands, sink edges and splashback joints get wet every single day, and water that gets into the back edge of a worktop can swell the board. We reseal them with a kitchen-suitable silicone, matched to the worktop where it’s on show. If you have two layers of silicone, both failing and smears of silicone across the tiles, we can help.
Being in a small place like Stone Hill makes no difference to the job itself: it just means planning the journey and access beforehand. Once we’re there, the bathroom or kitchen gets the same care as anywhere else.
You get a 12-month guarantee, the same in Stone Hill as everywhere else we work.

Looking after it afterwards
Good habits help new joints last longer. Our tips:
- Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
- Keep scourers and sharp tools away from the bead
- Move toiletries away from the joint
- Look for lifting corners and small gaps now and then
Clean the silicone with care: a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth is enough. Scourers and blades can nick the surface, because a damaged bead gives mould a foothold.
Small signs come before a leak: lifting ends, gaps, dark shadows under the bead or a stain downstairs. Any of these means the joint needs attention.

What do you put in the joint?
We choose the sealant for the joint, not the other way round. Movement, water and weather all affect the choice.
When can I use the bath or shower again?
Silicone is touch-dry quite quickly, but it takes longer to cure. Leave it around 24 hours before it gets wet, or follow the cure time we give you.
Are you ARBOMaster approved?
Yes. Mr Mastic is an ARBOMaster approved applicator and we are fully insured too.
Can I choose the colour of the sealant?
White, clear and a range of colours are available. Where the joint is on show, we match it to the surface.
Are you insured?
Yes, we’re fully insured for domestic and commercial work.
What does bathroom resealing cost?
We do not publish prices, because the cost depends on the job: its size, the old material, access and the product needed. We agree the price before any work begins.
What we do, step by step
We bring everything the job needs with us. After a quick look at the joints together, we protect the area and start. Most jobs take a couple of hours for a single bath or shower. In a small place like Stone Hill, access is usually the main thing to plan. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- We protect the area and cut out all of the old sealant, including the film left on the tiles.
- Next, the joint is cleaned and any mould is treated.
- The joint is left to dry, and baths are filled with water first.
- A single bead of anti-fungal sanitary silicone is applied and tooled smooth.
- We clear away and tell you when it can get wet, generally after around 24 hours.
How to prepare
- Tell us about access, such as stairs, a lift or high-level joints
- Tell us about any previous sealing or DIY attempts
- Keep children and pets away from the work area

What bathroom resealing looks like in Stone Hill
Most of the South East has hard water, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
For landlords with property near Westenhanger station, mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets. In the older streets around Church of St Mary, bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant. Schools such as Sellindge Primary School are buildings too, and its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.

Can I do it myself?
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that is fine. We cut it out and start again, so tell us about it when you ask for a quote.
Some sealant jobs are within reach of a careful DIYer, such as a straightforward joint indoors. Where it goes wrong is sealing over the old bead, working on a wet joint or overloading the gap.
What happens if it’s left?
Dealing with sealant early is a short job: it takes around two hours for one bath or shower, longer for a whole bathroom. Wait for a leak and you may be looking at panels off, drying out and redecorating too. In a small place like Stone Hill, homes can be exposed to wind and rain, which finds any gap, and older walls, once damp, take a long time to dry.
We do not show prices on the website, because each job is priced on what it involves. Call for a quick quote.

Different surfaces, different methods
Shower trays & enclosures
If a tray moves underfoot, new silicone will not last. We check for movement before we reseal, and tell you if it needs re-bedding first.
Baths
Baths move more than any other fitting, so it’s filled with water before the bead goes on. The joint is then laid with the bath at its lowest point and is not torn the first time it’s used.
How we quote for bathroom resealing
Your quote is based on your job. We look at:
- Whether the work is at height
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
- Mould in or behind the old joints
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
A failed joint rarely gets cheaper to fix by waiting, as water and mould keep getting in. If you’re unsure, phone 0345 464 0079 or email us for an honest opinion and a quote.
What to tell us for a quote
Before you ask for a quote, have a think about:
- Pictures of the joints, sent by email
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
- How we’d reach the joints
A good description makes for an accurate quote. Tell us where the job is, what’s wrong and how much there is.
