Bathroom & kitchen resealing in Ardchonnell, Argyll and Bute
Our applicators work in Ardchonnell on bath, shower, basin, wet room, worktop and sink resealing. Old material cut out, joints cleaned and sealed neatly.
- Gaps between the worktop and the wall
- A messy, uneven bead from a previous reseal
- Mouldy sealant that has gone black
Bathroom resealing in Ardchonnell
Homes in Ardchonnell have the same weak spots as anywhere else: the long edge of the bath, the base of the shower tray, the back of the basin and the line along the worktop. Every joint is cut out, cleaned and left dry before it’s resealed. If you have new sealant laid over old sealant that is now lifting and shrunken sealant along the back of a worktop, we can put it right, whatever the surface.
Bathrooms in smaller places like Ardchonnell work just as hard as those in the cities. Limescale is less of a problem with Scotland’s generally soft water, but mould still takes hold in damp sealant and grout.
Each job carries a 12-month guarantee, large or small.

Bathroom resealing around Ardchonnell
Scottish Water supplies are generally soft, so limescale is less of a problem than in hard-water areas. But mould still grows into sealant and grout in a room that does not dry out. Private landlords in Scotland must be registered and meet the Repairing Standard, which covers keeping fixtures and fittings in a reasonable state of repair. Tired, leaking sealant is worth putting right before a new tenant moves in.
Homes close to Dalavich Church include some older properties, and walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first. In and around Ardchonnell, as anywhere, good bathroom resealing starts with a clean, dry, properly prepared joint.

What we can’t put right
Sealant is not the answer to every problem, and we’d rather say so up front. Sealant won’t put right:
- A bath or tray that moves because it is not properly supported
- Leaks from a shower valve, waste or pipework (a plumber’s job)
- Failed grout lines across the wall
If you’re not sure, just email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Ardchonnell: your questions answered
Can you do bathroom resealing in Ardchonnell?
Yes. Our work covers the whole of Scotland, and Ardchonnell is part of that. You can send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk and tell us what needs doing, and we will give you a clear price.
Do you cover smaller places like Ardchonnell?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We work across all of Scotland. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Which products do you use?
We choose the sealant for the joint, not the other way round. Where it moves, gets wet or faces the weather makes a difference, and we’ll tell you what we’re using.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes, and it often makes sense. Combining jobs makes good use of the visit, so mention them when you ask for a quote.
Are you insured?
Yes. Full insurance covers our work.
What should I tell you?
Where the job is, what the problem is and roughly how big it is. Photos by email help too.
Where are you based?
Our base is Crawley. We work across South East England, London and Scotland.
Will there be a smell?
Some sealants have a smell while they cure. Ventilation helps.
Leave it or put it right?
Bleach and mould sprays may lighten black marks for a while, but mould that has grown into the sealant tends to return. Cutting it out and resealing with anti-fungal silicone is the fix that lasts. Out of town in Scotland, exposed walls take a lot of weather, and damp in stone or harled walls takes a long time to dry once water gets behind a joint.
What it costs depends on how much there is to do, how much old material has to come out and how easy the joints are to reach. You’ll have a clear quote before any work starts.
What you get with us
- Every job guaranteed for a year
- White, clear, grey or another colour, product permitting

Businesses can book us for washrooms, kitchens, offices and more. On commercial sites, working times can be discussed when we quote.
What affects the quote in Ardchonnell
Call for a quick quote. The main things that affect it are:
- Any mould that needs treating
- Any working-time requirements on site
- The number and length of the joints
- Which sealant suits the joint
Leaving a failed joint normally makes the job bigger, not smaller, as water and mould keep getting in. If you are unsure, email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk for an honest opinion and a quote.
Helping us quote
To make quoting easier, let us know:
- The problem you’ve noticed
- Where the job is, and your postcode
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
- A few pictures by email, if you can
Getting a quote is simple: let us know the job and the location. A few photos by email make the job easier to understand, and we will take it from there.
What happens on the day
On the day, there’s very little for you to do. Point us to the joints and we’ll get on with it. The work itself takes a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen from start to finish. Outdoor work around Ardchonnell depends on the weather, as sealant needs a dry surface, so external jobs may need to move if the day turns wet. Work indoors isn’t affected.
- First, each joint is checked for movement and signs of water.
- Every trace of the old bead is removed, including the thin smear on the tiles.
- Joints are degreased and any mould is treated.
- When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
- We tool the bead to a neat finish and give you the cure time, generally around 24 hours.

Keeping the joints in good condition
Good habits help new joints last longer. Our tips:
- Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
- Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
- Wipe the sealant dry after showering
- Avoid abrasive pads on the sealant
Clean the silicone with care: warm soapy water and a soft cloth do the job. Avoid scouring pads and anything sharp, because a damaged bead gives mould a foothold.
Worktop joints fail quietly. Splashes run behind the back edge and soak into the worktop, where it can make the board swell. Resealing before that happens protects the worktop.
Can I do it myself?
If you’ve already had a go yourself, that’s fine. We remove it and do the joint properly, so just mention it when you contact us.
Some jobs are best left to a professional: work at height, external movement joints, fire-rated sealant and large areas call for the right materials, safe access and experience.
