How we handle bathroom resealing in Allhallows
The bead of silicone around a bath, tray or worktop is what keeps water out of the gaps. Once it cracks or goes mouldy, water starts to find its way through. Every trace of the old sealant is taken out and replaced with anti-fungal sanitary silicone. We work on wet rooms, shower trays & enclosures and kitchen worktops & upstands, and common reasons people get in touch are water getting behind the bath panel and sealant that has split, shrunk or peeled away.
For a small place like Allhallows, bathroom resealing is planned like any other job: the journey and access are simply agreed in advance. In the bathroom or kitchen, the work is the same as in any town.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If there’s a problem with it, please call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email.

Leave it or put it right?
Leaving a split or mouldy bead only stores up trouble. Once water is behind the bath, it can reach floorboards, panels and the ceiling underneath, turning a small job into a building repair. Around Allhallows, older homes often have timber in their floors and frames, where water from a failed joint can cause rot if it’s left.
Instead of a standard rate, we price the job in front of us: how many joints, what’s in them now and how we reach them. You’ll know the price before we begin.

Allhallows homes and their sealant
Allhallows is close to the coast. Near the coast, holiday lets and guest houses can see bathrooms used by one guest after another, which wears sealant and grout out faster than in a quiet home. Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, so limescale builds up on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
If you let a flat or house near Chalkwell station, a reseal between tenants is a quick way to make the bathroom and kitchen look cared for. Homes close to Church of All Saints include some older properties, and timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them. If you look after a building such as Allhallows Primary Academy, we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes.
Allhallows is about 5 miles south-east of Canvey Island, in Medway. We carry out bathroom resealing for homes and businesses in Allhallows and nearby. Across Medway, we cover 68 places, and Allhallows is one of them. You can also see our page for Chelmsford, about 20 miles away.
Here we cover the ME3 postcode area for bathroom resealing. You will find streets such as St Andrew's Walk, Avery Way and St Matthew's Way, and we cover them all. If you’re just outside Allhallows, we cover Allhallows-on-Sea (1 mile north-east), Lower Stoke (1 mile south), Middle Stoke (1 mile south), Stoke (2 miles south-west) and St Mary Hoo (2 miles west). Larger places within reach include Gillingham (7 miles south-west), Chatham (9 miles south-west), Rochester (8 miles south-west), Rainham (8 miles south), Strood (9 miles south-west) and Luton (8 miles south-west).
What’s near Allhallows
Typical jobs here are in homes near Rose And Crown Public House, among other places. For rail, the closest station is Chalkwell station, about 5 miles north of the centre. Other landmarks nearby include Chartwell Private Hospital (5.5 miles north) and Bay Museum (3.9 miles north-west). Not far away are Bishop Saltings.
Looking after it afterwards
Simple care keeps the joints in good condition. We recommend:
- Do not let bottles sit on the bead
- Avoid abrasive pads on the sealant
- Keep an eye on the corners, where splits start
- Wipe up water along the back of the worktop
Have a look at the joints every few months. A small split or a corner lifting is easy to spot, and if anything looks wrong, just call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.
A few black dots in the silicone soon become a black line. Once it’s deep in the silicone, cleaning normally will not remove it. Replacing the sealant early keeps the job small.
Different surfaces, different methods
Baths
Most bath leaks begin along the long edge, particularly where there’s a shower over the bath. We finish it with a single, even bead of anti-fungal silicone, tooled so water can’t sit on it.
Shower trays & enclosures
There are usually two jobs in a shower: the tray-to-wall joint and the enclosure joints. Both get soaked every time the shower runs, so both are resealed with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.
Can I do it myself?
If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.
Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
How it works
Our applicators work methodically: protection first, then preparation, sealing and a tidy-up. Typically it takes a couple of hours for a single bath or shower, and the area is left clean. Somewhere as small as Allhallows, access is often the only tricky part. If the job is outside, mention outbuildings, exposed walls and how to reach them.
- Protection goes down around the bath, shower or worktop.
- Old sealant is sliced away and the residue removed.
- Mould is treated, then the joint is left to dry thoroughly.
- Any bath is filled with water, then we lay a bead of anti-fungal silicone in white, clear or a matching colour.
- We finish the joint, clear up and tell you how long to leave it before it gets wet.
Before we arrive
- Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
- For indoor joints, keep the area dry beforehand if you can

What affects the quote in Allhallows
There’s no set price list, because no two jobs are the same. The quote depends on:
- Any working-time requirements on site
- Mould in or behind the old joints
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
- The type of sealant required
Doing several joints on one visit generally makes better use of the time than several visits, so tell us about everything that needs sealing. You will get one clear quote for the whole job.
Asking for a quote
There’s no need for technical detail. Just tell us:
- Roughly how big the job is
- How we’d reach the joints
- The type of property
- The problem you’ve noticed
Need a quote? Please call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with a few details. You will know what we plan to do, and what it will cost, before any work begins.

What sealant work cannot fix
To be straight with you, some problems need a different trade:
- A tray that rocks until it’s re-bedded
- Water getting in through the grout rather than the sealant
- Loose or hollow tiles, or failed tanking behind them
Not sure which it is? You can call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we’ll tell you honestly.

Your questions about bathroom resealing in Allhallows
Is Allhallows within the area you cover?
Yes. Allhallows is within the area we cover, which takes in towns, villages and rural addresses. Our work covers London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
I let a flat near Chalkwell station. Can you help?
Yes, we work for landlords and letting agents. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and tell us about the property, and we’ll send you a clear quote.
Can new silicone go straight over the old?
No. A bead laid over old silicone soon starts to come away. We remove the old bead completely before resealing.
Where are you based?
Our base is in Crawley, West Sussex, and we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland.
How long does a bath or shower reseal take?
It takes a couple of hours for a single bath or shower. You will know how long to expect before work begins.
How long does the new silicone need before I use the shower?
We give you the cure time before we leave, and it’s usually around 24 hours. Getting it wet too early can spoil the new joint.
What sealant do you use?
Each joint gets the product that suits it. Where it moves, gets wet or faces the weather makes a difference.
Do you reseal kitchen worktops and sinks too?
Yes. We reseal worktop upstands, sinks and splashbacks, with a sealant suited to kitchens, colour-matched where it shows.
