Regrouting in Eastfield, Glasgow
Raking out old, cracked or stained grout and regrouting tiled walls and floors for Eastfield, backed by a one-year guarantee. Ask us for a quote.
- Stained grout that cleaning won’t shift
- Splashback grout that has darkened
- Crumbling grout between the tiles
How it works
We keep the work tidy and contained to the joints we’re treating, so you can get on with your day. Expect the work to take a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room. In a Scottish city, a lot of jobs are in tenement flats, up a common stair from a shared close. In Eastfield, it helps to know the floor, the door entry arrangements and the nearest parking.
- We agree the area to be regrouted and point out any loose tiles.
- We remove the old grout carefully.
- The joints are cleaned out and vacuumed.
- The new grout goes in, then the tile faces are cleaned.
- Internal corners and edges are resealed.
Preparing for the visit
- Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
- For indoor joints, keep the area dry beforehand if you can
- Tell us about any water getting in

Regrouting for homes and businesses in Eastfield
Across Eastfield, we regrout tiled showers, bathrooms and kitchens. The old grout is raked out, the joints cleaned and new grout laid, and we finish by resealing the edges. Typical jobs include cracked grout along the bath or tray and grout that stays dark however much it’s cleaned, across shower walls, kitchen splashbacks and bathroom floors.
From stone-built tenements to new flats and suburban houses, Eastfield is in a city with every kind of home. Scottish water is generally soft, so limescale is less of a problem than in hard-water areas, but mould still grows into sealant and grout in a steamy bathroom.
Our work is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you are.

Regrouting in Eastfield: local notes
Glasgow has a lot of sandstone tenements, so many bathrooms sit right above a neighbour’s ceiling. Scottish Water supplies are generally soft, so limescale is less of a problem than in hard-water areas. Mould is another matter: a bathroom that stays damp still turns sealant and grout black.
If you let a flat or house near Burnside station, clean grout and fresh sealant between tenancies make a bathroom look cared for again. Managing a site like Stonelaw High School? Then its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.

Surface by surface
Bathroom wall tiles
We can regroute all the walls in a bathroom, depending on size. It’s a good time to change the grout colour.
Corners and edges
Where tiles meet a bath, tray or worktop, the joint is sealed. Grout there would crack.
How we quote for regrouting
The price is agreed before any work begins. It takes into account:
- The size of the job
- How easy the joints are to reach
- Any working-time requirements on site
- Mould in or behind the old joints
Some things make a job bigger or smaller: the old material and how easily it comes out, whether mould needs treating, and whether we need extra access for height. Your quote takes all of that into account.
Asking for a quote
The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote. When you get in contact, it helps to mention:
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
- What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
- Where the job is, and your postcode
Getting a quote is simple: let us know the job and the location, and roughly how big it is. A few pictures by email make the job easier to understand, and we’ll come back to you with a quote.
Honest limits
In fairness, there are a few things sealant won’t fix:
- Tiles that are loose or hollow behind
- Waterproofing that has failed below the tiling
- Cracked or broken tiles
If you’re not sure, just drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we will give you a straight answer before booking.
What we seal
- Bathroom wall tiles
- Bathroom floors
- Tiled floors
- Shower walls
- Wet rooms
- Kitchen splashbacks
Leave it or put it right?
Grout pens and paint-on colourants only cover the surface. They do not fill cracks or stop water and stains often come back through. Raking out and regrouting replaces the grout itself. For landlords in Eastfield, damp and leaks can be a Repairing Standard issue, so failed sealant is best replaced before it becomes a complaint.
Combining jobs into one visit generally makes better use of the time than several visits. We will give you a clear price for the lot.

Do you need regrouting in Eastfield?
Grout is porous, so it soaks up water, soap and dirt. Given time, it discolours and begins to break down and showers that get daily use suffer most.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Grout stained black or orange that won’t clean
- Floor grout that has worn and darkened
- Kitchen splashback grout stained by grease
- Grout washed out of a shower
Homes close to Wardlawhill Church include some older properties, and timber floors under older bathrooms flex, so joints need a sealant that moves with them.

Eastfield: your questions answered
Do you work for landlords with property near Burnside station?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk with the address and a few details, and we will give you a fixed price before we start.
Can you do regrouting in Eastfield?
Yes. Our work covers the whole of Scotland, and Eastfield is part of that. Just email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk with a few details of the job.
Can you do several jobs on one visit?
Yes, we can. More than one area can go on one quote.
Which products do you use?
It depends on the joint: anti-fungal sanitary silicone in wet areas, and other sealants where joints move or face the weather. We use products from Arbo and Everbuild.
What guarantee comes with the work?
There’s a 12-month guarantee on every job, including regrouting.
Should corners be grouted or sealed?
We seal corners with silicone. They flex, and grout there cracks.
Do the sealants smell?
That depends on the sealant. Some smell for a while, some hardly at all.
Can you regrout if a few tiles are loose?
New grout can’t hold loose tiles in place. We check the tiles first and tell you if any are loose or hollow, so you can decide what to do.
