Regrouting in East Horsley
Tiled areas in East Horsley need attention? We cut out the old, prepare the joints and apply the right sealant, with a 12-month guarantee.
- Corners filled with grout instead of silicone
- Grout that is cracking and breaking up
- Dirty, worn grout on a tiled floor
Regrouting in East Horsley
We check the tiles before any grout comes out. Loose or hollow tiles are pointed out first, because regrouting will not fix what’s behind them. Where the tiles are sound, regrouting gives the area a new lease of life. If you’re dealing with grout in a colour the owner wants to change and cracked grout along the bath or tray, we can put it right, on wet rooms, shower walls and kitchen splashbacks alike.
In a smaller place like East Horsley, homes are mostly houses and bungalows rather than flats, from older cottages to newer builds. Bathrooms and kitchens here get the same daily wear as anywhere, and the sealant and grout show it first.

When to call us in East Horsley
Grout is porous, so it soaks up water, soap and dirt. Given time, it discolours and begins to break down and showers that get daily use suffer most.
Common reasons people contact us are:
- Gaps where the shower grout has gone
- Cracked or crumbling grout lines
- Floor grout that will not come clean
- A grout colour that no longer suits the room
Homes close to Church of St Martin include some older properties, and walls and floors in older homes can move, and sealant and grout show it first.
What to look for in a quote
- How the surfaces are prepared before sealing
- What the cure time is
- How long the guarantee is
- What product goes in the joint
What affects the quote in East Horsley
The price is agreed before any work begins. It’s based on:
- Mould in or behind the old joints
- When we can work, for business premises
- The type of sealant required
- How many areas need sealing
We do not show prices on the website, because the cost depends so much on the job itself. For a quick quote, please phone 0345 464 0079 or email us and we will talk you through it.
What to tell us for a quote
Photos help, but a description is a good start. Please mention:
- A few pictures by email, if you can
- If it’s domestic, commercial or a hotel
- The problem you’ve noticed
- The rough size of the job
We don’t publish a price list. Instead, your job gets its own clear quote. To get started, call 0345 464 0079 or email us.
When it is not the sealant
We’d rather tell you now than do work that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- A leaking shower valve or waste
- Tiles that have come away from the wall
- Waterproofing that has failed below the tiling
If in doubt, call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we will say what we think before booking.

Your questions about regrouting in East Horsley
Can you help a landlord with a rental near Horsley station?
Yes, rental work is part of what we do. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and tell us about the property, and we will give you a clear quote.
Do you cover smaller places like East Horsley?
Yes, we do. Our work covers London and the South East, from towns to the smallest places. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.
How soon can the shower be used after regrouting?
You will get a clear time from us before we go. Both the grout and the silicone need time to cure before they get wet.
Is regrouting a chance to pick a new grout colour?
Yes. Many clients do. Darker grout can hide marks and lighter grout gives a fresher look.
Is it messy?
Very little: the area around the joints is protected first, and we clear up the old sealant and our materials before we leave.
Are you an approved applicator?
Yes. Mr Mastic is an ARBOMaster approved applicator, and we’re fully insured.
Does someone need to be in?
We need access to the joints, so we will agree that with you when we book. For inside work, that normally means someone being in.
What guarantee comes with the work?
You get our 12-month guarantee on every job. We’re also fully insured.
Regrouting around East Horsley
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings, and it has to be cleaned off before new sealant goes in.
For site and facilities teams at buildings such as The Raleigh School, washroom and kitchen sealant there needs the same care as at home, and schools and businesses are part of our work as well as homes. How it works
All our tools and materials come with us in the van, so you don’t need to buy or prepare anything. Once we’ve agreed what’s being done, we protect the area and start. It normally takes a few hours for a shower enclosure, longer for a whole room. A visit to East Horsley is planned like any other: the time, the access and where to park are agreed in advance. Outdoor jobs depend on a dry day, since sealant needs a dry surface.
- First, we check for loose or hollow tiles and point out any we find.
- Old grout is raked out to a consistent depth without chipping the tiles.
- The joints are vacuumed and cleaned.
- Fresh grout goes into the joints and the tile faces are wiped clean.
- The corners and edges get new silicone, because grout there would crack.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know about parking restrictions
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
- For indoor joints, keep the area dry beforehand if you can

Aftercare tips
How long the joints last depends on use and care. We suggest:
- Run the extractor fan during and after a shower
- Wipe water off the walls when you are done
- Keep an eye on the silicone along the edges
- Keep harsh bleach and acid cleaners off the grout
Give the new grout the time we tell you before using the shower, so it can harden properly. After that, rinse the tiles after showering and let the room air.
Leaving failed grout can mean tiles come loose. Once that happens, regrouting won’t fix it, so it’s worth acting early.
Should I try it myself first?
Too much sealant is as bad as too little. A heavy bead looks messy and copes badly with movement, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. Silicone doesn’t stick to old silicone, so it lifts and traps water and mould underneath. Everything old must be removed first.
Leave it or put it right?
Cracked grout lets water behind the tiles. Left alone, that water can loosen tiles or damage the wall, and then you are looking at retiling. Dealing with it now keeps it small. Homes in smaller places like East Horsley can face more weather, and failed outside joints let damp into walls. Indoors, a failed seal lets water into floors and panels as it would anywhere.
Some things make a job bigger or smaller: the old material and how easily it comes out, any mould to treat, and whether we need extra access for height. Your quote takes all of that into account.
