Regrouting for homes and businesses in Culloden

We work across Culloden, regrouting bathrooms, showers and kitchens. The old grout is raked out, the joints cleaned and new grout laid, and we finish by resealing the edges. Common call-outs are for grout washed out of a shower and grout that stays dark however much it’s cleaned, across tiled floors, wet rooms and shower walls.

Across smaller places in Scotland, homes range from stone and harled cottages to newer houses. Older buildings can move a little, and that shows first in cracked grout and split sealant.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

Landlord and commercial work in Culloden

Businesses can book us for washrooms, kitchens, offices and more. For commercial premises, we can talk through working times when we quote.

We also work for property managers and facilities teams. Several sites can be quoted together.

Surface by surface

Wet rooms

Both the grout and the silicone in a wet room matter. We renew both.

Corners and edges

We reseal edges at the same time as regrouting, so everything is renewed at once.

Quotes for regrouting in Culloden

Call for a quick quote. What matters most is:

  • The number and length of the joints
  • Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
  • Any mould that needs treating
  • Any working-time requirements on site

There are no prices on our website, because each job is priced on what it involves. Call for a quick quote and we will talk you through it.

What we need to know

Before you ask for a quote, have a think about:

  • How we’d reach the joints
  • Whether it’s a home or a business
  • How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
  • Pictures of the joints, sent by email

For a quote, send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk and tell us where the job is and what the problem looks like. You’ll have a clear quote before we start.

Regrouting around Culloden

Culloden is close to the coast. Near the coast, holiday lets and guest houses can see bathrooms used by one guest after another, which wears sealant and grout out faster than in a quiet home. There are hotels and other places to stay in and around Culloden. As well as homes, we work in hotel bathrooms, where resealing and regrouting can be done room by room.

For an older house near a landmark such as Barn Church, bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant. If you look after a building such as Culloden Academy, its toilets, changing areas and kitchens need their sealant renewed like any other building’s.

Culloden is about 1 mile north-east of Cradlehall, in Highland. We carry out regrouting for householders, landlords and businesses in Culloden and nearby. Our Highland coverage runs to 253 places, Culloden among them. There’s also a page for Aberdeen, roughly 79 miles from Culloden.

All of IV2 is covered for regrouting. Regrouting is available to properties on Keppoch Road, Hazel Avenue and Loch Lann Road. Other places close to Culloden include Cradlehall (1 mile south-west), Balloch (1 mile north-east), Viewhill (1 mile east), Westhill (2 miles south-west) and Newlands of Culloden (2 miles east). We also work in nearby towns such as Inverness (4 miles west), Nairn (12 miles north-east), Merkinch (4 miles west), Dingwall (13 miles north-west), Hilton (3 miles south-west) and Alness (15 miles north). For island and remote addresses, the job takes a little more planning.

Common problems we fix in Culloden

Movement behind the tiles cracks grout. Loose tiles, bouncy floors and timber walls can all do it, so we check the tiles before work begins.

Most people get in touch when they notice something like this:

  • Crumbling grout between the tiles
  • Corners filled with grout instead of silicone
  • Grout that makes sound tiles look old
  • Grout stained black or orange that will not clean

If you let a flat or house near Inverness station, stained grout drags a rental down, and regrouting between lets puts that right.

What your quote should include

  • Whether VAT is included
  • Who turns up on the day
  • Whether you can choose the colour
  • How the surfaces are prepared before sealing

Your questions about regrouting in Culloden

I let a flat near Inverness station. Can you help?

Yes, rental work is part of what we do. Just email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk and tell us about the property, and we’ll give you a clear quote.

Is Culloden within the area you cover?

Yes, Culloden is covered. We work across all of Scotland, and smaller places are part of that. The journey is planned ahead, so it helps to know about access.

Can you regrout just the shower?

Yes. A lot of our jobs are only the shower, or the area where the grout has gone.

Do you reseal at the same time?

Generally, yes. The corners and edges should be silicone, and it makes sense to renew both together.

What information do you need?

Just the basics: where it is, what you’ve noticed and how we reach it. After that, simply send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk.

How long does the job take?

A typical job takes a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room, including preparation and clearing up. We will confirm how long when we quote.

Is the work guaranteed?

Our 12-month guarantee covers every job, including regrouting.

What if some of my tiles are loose?

Regrouting will not fix loose tiles. We flag any loose or hollow tiles before starting, so you can decide what to do.

Can I do it myself?

If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it fails, we can still redo it.

The biggest DIY mistake is sealing over old sealant. Silicone doesn’t stick to old silicone, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. Everything old must be removed first.

Honest limits

Sealant isn’t the answer to every problem, and we’ll tell you before we start. It will not solve:

  • Cracked or broken tiles
  • Movement in a stud wall or floor
  • Tiles that have come away from the wall

If in doubt, email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we’ll say what we think.

Joints and surfaces we work on

  • Shower walls
  • Bathroom floors
  • Bathroom wall tiles
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen splashbacks
  • Tiled floors

What happens on the day

There’s no need to move everything out, only the area right around the joints. We protect the rest, and the job takes a few hours, or longer for a fully tiled room in most cases. Outdoor work around Culloden depends on the weather, as sealant needs a dry surface, so external jobs may need to move if the day turns wet. Indoor work goes ahead whatever the weather.

  1. First, we check for loose or hollow tiles and point out any we find.
  2. The old grout comes out to a consistent depth, without damaging the tiles.
  3. Dust and debris are vacuumed out of every joint.
  4. New grout is worked into the joints and cleaned off the tile faces.
  5. Corners and edges are resealed with flexible silicone, not grout.

Preparing for the visit

  • Move anything stored near the joints
  • Let us know if you’ve seen damp or leaks
  • Plan for the work area to be out of bounds to pets and children
