Kemsley buildings and the weather
Kemsley is close to the coast, where wind-driven rain is a fact of life and, nearer the shore, so is salt air. That is hard on gutter, fascia and roofline joints, especially on the side facing the sea. Compared with the north and west, the South East gets less rain, but outside sealant still needs a dry, clean surface, so outdoor work is planned around the forecast.
Schools such as Kemsley Primary Academy are buildings too, and its movement joints, gutters and trims need looking after like any other building’s. For landlords with property near Kemsley station, a gutter joint that drips onto the wall can turn into a damp complaint, so it’s worth checking. If you live in an older home near Parish Church of the Holy Trinity, older walls, gutters and the joints where extensions meet them need a flexible sealant.

About our gutter sealing in Kemsley
A leaking gutter joint marks the wall and wets the ground underneath. Often a reseal is enough if the gutter is not damaged. If you have internal damp traced to a gutter joint and quick sealant fixes on gutters that didn’t last, we can help, on roofline trims, gutter joints and gutter end caps alike.
In and around Kemsley, older properties sit alongside newer ones, each with its own outside joints. Older homes need their gutter and trim joints kept tight, newer ones their movement joints.

What the job involves on each surface
uPVC fascias
Our work is the joints, not new fascias. Damaged boards need replacing by an installer.
Gutter end caps
A leaking end cap sends water straight down the wall. It’s a quick reseal.
Kemsley: your questions answered
Is gutter sealing in a coastal place like Kemsley any different?
Coastal weather is harder on outside sealant: there’s more wind-driven rain and, closer to the shore, salt in the air. Choosing the right sealant for the frame and wall, laid at the right depth, helps it last.
Can you help a landlord with a rental near Kemsley station?
Yes, we work for landlords and agents. You can call 0345 464 0079 or send us an email with the address and a few details, and we’ll give you a fixed price before any work starts.
Where are you based?
Our base is Crawley. Our area covers South East England, London and Scotland.
Is there any odour?
It depends on the product. Some smell for a while, some hardly at all, and any smell fades as they cure.
Do you clean gutters?
We clear what’s around the joints we work on. Full gutter cleaning is a separate job.
How much does gutter sealing cost in Kemsley?
It depends on the job, so we quote each one individually. To get one, call 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email with a short description of the job.
Can a leaking gutter joint be sealed?
In most cases, yes. If the gutter is sagging or cracked, sealing won’t last and we’ll say so.
Are you ARBOMaster approved?
Yes. Mr Mastic is an ARBOMaster approved applicator and we’re fully insured too.
What affects the quote in Kemsley
Your quote is based on your job. We look at:
- How many rooms, windows or areas are involved
- Which sealant suits the joint
- Whether old sealant or filler has to be cut out
- The number and length of the joints
Doing several joints on one visit is generally more efficient than separate visits, so tell us about everything that needs sealing. We will send you a clear quote for the lot.
What to tell us for a quote
What to tell us when you ask for a quote:
- How many joints, rooms or windows are involved
- The address or postcode of the job
- A few pictures by email, if you can
- Any previous sealing or DIY work
There’s no standard price list, as no two jobs are quite the same. Instead, your job gets its own clear quote. To arrange one, phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email.
How the visit works
Most of a good job is in the preparation, and we don’t rush it. Every joint is cleaned and dried before new material goes in. All told, the work takes an hour or two for a few joints, longer for a full run. A visit to Kemsley is planned like any other: the time, the access and where to park are agreed in advance. Outdoor jobs depend on a dry day, since sealant needs a dry surface.
- First we agree which joints need sealing.
- We clean out each joint.
- We make sure everything is dry.
- We apply exterior or gutter sealant and finish it neatly.
- The joints are checked once sealed.
How to prepare
- Keep children and pets away from the work area
- Let us know about stairs, lifts or work at height
- On commercial sites, let us know about site rules

Related advice
Should I try it myself first?
Overfilling a joint is a classic DIY mistake. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and does not move well, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
Sealing over old silicone is the commonest DIY error. New silicone won’t bond to old, so it peels away and traps moisture behind it. Everything old must be removed first.
Leave it or put it right?
Replacing guttering is a much bigger job than sealing joints. Where the gutter is in good order and only a joint leaks a reseal is all it needs. If it has failed, we’ll tell you. Homes in smaller places like Kemsley can face more weather, and failed outside joints let damp into walls. Inside, a split seal lets water into floors and panels just as it would anywhere.
Every job is a little different, so each one gets its own quote. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all make a difference, and we will explain the quote if you ask.

Work for landlords, hotels and businesses
From a single let to a portfolio, you get the same standard of work: the old material taken out, careful preparation and a 12-month guarantee.
Mouldy or split sealant often shows up at the end of a tenancy, and it’s easy to sort out between tenants. We can quote for more than one property at once.
What sealant work can’t fix
We won’t take on work that will not last, so here’s what sealant can’t put right:
- Water backing up from a blocked pipe
- Roof leaks, slipped tiles or failed flashing (a roofer’s job)
- Guttering that needs replacing
If in doubt, phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we will say what we think.
