Gutter sealing near Arden

Gutter sealing for homes and businesses in Arden

A drip at a gutter joint is easy to ignore, but each shower sends water to the same place. Sealing it is quick while the gutter is still sound. We work on garage door frames, gutter joints and uPVC fascias, and common reasons people get in touch are wet patches on the wall under a gutter joint and quick sealant fixes on gutters that didn’t last.

Gutters and downpipes on tall city tenements are a long way up, so a leaking joint can run down the stone for months before anyone notices. For a building in Arden, access is planned first, and shared parts may need the other owners to agree.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

DIY versus a professional finish

Not every job suits DIY: high-level joints, fire-rated gaps, external movement joints and big jobs need the right product, the right access and the right method.

If you’ve already had a go yourself, that’s fine. We cut it out and start again.

Different surfaces, different methods

Roofline trims

We reseal trim joints with an exterior sealant.

uPVC fascias

Gaps in fascias spoil the roofline. Sealing them closes the gap.

How the visit works

Once we’re on site, we compare the joints with what we discussed. If we find something unexpected, we talk it through with you first. After that, the work takes a few hours, depending on the number of joints and the access. For a tenement in Arden, work inside your flat is between us and you, while shared parts may need the factor or neighbours to agree. It helps to know which it is when you get in touch.

  1. We look at the gutters, fascias and trims and agree the joints to seal.
  2. We clean out each joint.
  3. We make sure everything is dry.
  4. The sealant is applied and finished.
  5. The joints are checked once sealed.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Where the joints are inside, avoid wetting them before we arrive
  • Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
  • Tell us if parking is tricky

Arden questions

Can you do gutter sealing in Arden?

Yes, Arden is within the area we cover. Our work covers the whole of Scotland. Just send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk with a few details of the job, and we will give you a clear quote.

Do you work for landlords with property near Kennishead station?

Yes, rental work is part of what we do. You can drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk with the address and a few details, and we’ll give you a fixed price before we start.

Is the work guaranteed?

Our 12-month guarantee applies on every job.

Are you an approved applicator?

Yes. Mr Mastic is an ARBOMaster approved applicator.

Is sealing fascia joints something you do?

We do. We seal the joints, not replace the boards, and if a board is damaged, we will tell you.

Can I choose the sealant colour?

We’ll suggest a colour to suit the surroundings, from white and clear to greys and other shades. The product needed can limit the range.

Can new sealant go over the old?

No. Fresh sealant doesn’t stick to old sealant, and it traps any mould or water underneath. We remove it all first.

Do you remove the old sealant?

Yes. Sealing over old sealant is the main reason resealing fails early, and it’s something we never do.

What we’re called out for in Arden

Debris in the gutter keeps water sitting at the joints. Standing water finds the weakest joint and drips through.

Any of these means the joints need attention:

  • Earlier gutter repairs that have peeled off
  • Drips from gutter joints and end caps
  • Damp patches inside below a leaking gutter
  • Old sealant on roofline trims that has split

For site and facilities teams at buildings such as St. Paul's High School, movement joints, cladding joints and gutters on larger buildings need the same care as a house’s.

Questions to ask before you book

  • Whether they’re fully insured
  • How much experience the applicator has
  • What guarantee comes with the work
  • Is VAT in the price?

What affects the quote in Arden

Call for a quick quote. What matters most is:

  • The product the joint needs
  • How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
  • Access and height
  • How many rooms, windows or areas are involved

A few things move the cost up or down: the old material and how easily it comes out, any mould to treat, and whether the work is at height. Your quote takes all of that into account.

Asking for a quote

There’s no need for technical detail. It helps if you can tell us:

  • Where the job is, and your postcode
  • Roughly how big the job is
  • Pictures of the joints, sent by email
  • Whether it has been sealed before

It all starts with a short chat. Describe the problem, the location and the size of the job, and we will explain how we’d tackle it. When it suits you, send an email to info@mrmastic.co.uk.
