Glazing & conservatory sealant in Dalry, North Ayrshire
Problem with your glazing joints in Dalry? We cut out the old, prepare the joints and apply the right sealant, with a 12-month guarantee.

Glazing silicone in Dalry, done properly
We renew glazing silicone on conservatories, rooflights and glass panels plus shower screens and the bases of glass balustrades. Each joint is cut out, cleaned and resealed. We’re often asked to deal with leaking glazing joints on a rooflight and glazing silicone that has cracked or come away, across conservatory frames, glass-to-glass joints and glass-to-frame joints.
Across smaller places in Scotland, homes range from stone and harled cottages to newer houses, many standing in the open. Wind-driven rain finds any gap around a frame or sill.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with our work within the year, let us know and we’ll sort it.

When something else is needed
A few problems are outside what sealant work can do:
- Rotten or badly damaged frames
- Cracked or broken glass
- A sealed unit that has misted inside
If in doubt, email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk and we’ll say what we think.

The process
Our applicators work methodically: protection first, then preparation, sealing and a tidy-up. For most jobs that takes a few hours for most jobs and we leave things clean and tidy. In smaller Scottish places, parking is normally less of an issue than access and distance. Tell us how to find the property and how to reach the work, and the visit is planned around that.
- First, we trace the leak and check it’s coming through a sealant joint.
- The old sealant is removed from the glass and frame without scratching them.
- Surfaces are cleaned with a solvent suited to glass and the frame.
- New glazing silicone goes in and is tooled to a neat finish.
- We look over every joint and, where we can, test it with water.
How to prepare
- Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
- Clear items away from the joints we’re working on
- Tell us about any previous sealing or DIY attempts

What affects the quote in Dalry
The quote reflects the job in front of us. We take into account:
- The number and length of the joints
- Whether the work is at height
- How many areas need sealing
- Mould in or behind the old joints
No two jobs are quite the same, so we quote each one individually. The number of joints, how easy they are to reach and the sealant needed all make a difference, and we’ll explain the quote if you ask.
Asking for a quote
To help us quote quickly, please include:
- The address or postcode of the job
- The rough size of the job
- How we’d reach the joints
- The type of property
Getting a quote is simple: let us know what needs doing and where and its rough size. A few pictures by email make the job easier to understand, and we’ll come back to you with a quote.
Frames and glazing around Dalry
Historic houses like Montgreenan (about 4.4 miles south-east) are a reminder that the area around Dalry has older buildings as well as new. Where a home is older, older frames set in brick or stone need a sealant that suits them, and sometimes that is traditional sand mastic. Sash and case windows are common in older Scottish homes, and the joint between the box frame and the stone or render is traditionally pointed with sand mastic.
For landlords with property near Dalry station, leaking glazing joints, shower screens or conservatory seals are worth sorting between tenancies. In the older streets around St Margaret's Church, the joint between an old wall and a newer frame is normally the first place rain gets in.

Can I do it myself?
Some jobs are best left to a professional: work at height, external movement joints, fire-rated sealant and large areas need the right product, the right access and the right method.
If you do try it yourself, take your time over the preparation: take out all the old sealant, make sure the joint is clean and dry, and give it the full cure time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still put it right.
How to look after the new joints
After the cure time, these simple habits help:
- Check the silicone on glass every year or so
- Get a new leak looked at quickly
- Keep conservatory gutters clear of leaves
- Run a squeegee over the glass when you are done
Squeegee a shower screen after each shower and let the room air. That slows mould growth on the bead.
A small conservatory leak soon spreads. Water travels along the frame and into the wall so it’s best dealt with right away.
Your questions about glazing silicone in Dalry
Is Dalry in your area for glazing silicone?
Yes, Dalry is within the area we cover. Our work covers the whole of Scotland. Just email us at info@mrmastic.co.uk with a few details of the job.
Do you work for landlords with property near Dalry station?
Yes, landlords and agents are among the people we work for, and several properties can be quoted together. You can drop us a line at info@mrmastic.co.uk with the details for a clear quote.
Are you ARBOMaster approved?
Yes. We’re an ARBOMaster approved applicator, which is run for the Arbo sealant brand.
How long should I leave it?
It depends on the product and the temperature. We tell you how long to leave it before we go.
Where are you based?
Our base is in Crawley, and we work across South East England, London and Scotland.
Can you do several jobs on one visit?
Yes, and it often makes sense. Doing several areas at once is usually more efficient, so mention them when you ask for a quote.

Many leaks we see come from exactly that. A proper job means cutting out, cleaning and resealing.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. We’re fully insured for domestic and commercial work.

What happens if it’s left?
Leaks get worse, not better. Left, water can mark floors, damage plaster and rot timber, so it pays to deal with it early. When the nearest tradesperson is a drive away, it’s tempting to leave a small leak, but water behind a failed seal does the most damage when nobody’s watching.
Combining jobs into one visit generally makes better use of the time than several visits, so tell us about everything that needs sealing. We will give you a clear price for the lot.
Why us?
- We’re fully insured
- A sealant colour to suit the surroundings
- We never seal over old sealant
- White, clear, grey or another colour, product permitting

Glass-to-frame joints
Glass-to-frame joints need a sealant that bonds to both. We choose a product that suits both.
