Bathroom resealing in White City

Bathroom resealing in White City

A shower joint gets soaked every day. Tray edges, screen profiles and wet room joints all rely on silicone to stay watertight. Each gets a bead of anti-fungal sanitary silicone, finished smooth so water drains away rather than collecting. If you have a joint torn by a bath that flexes and sealant that has split, shrunk or peeled away, we can help, whatever the surface.

London homes include a lot of flats, conversions and mansion blocks, and many bathrooms sit right above someone else’s ceiling. In White City, that’s a good reason to put tired sealant and grout right early.

There’s a 12-month guarantee on every job, whatever its size.

Common questions in White City

I let a flat near Shepherds Bush station. Can you help?

Yes, rental work is part of what we do. Just phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and tell us about the property, and we’ll give you a clear price.

Do you take on hotel work around White City?

Yes, hospitality work, including hotels, is part of what we do. Jobs can be programmed room by room, with out-of-hours working possible to arrange.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course. Combining jobs makes good use of the visit.

Do you have insurance?

Yes, we’re fully insured.

Does the resealing come with a guarantee?

Yes. All our work comes with a 12-month guarantee, and we’re fully insured.

Where are you based?

We work from Crawley. We cover White City and the rest of Greater London.

My sealant has gone black. Can you sort it?

Yes. The old sealant comes out, the mould is treated, and we reseal with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.

Will you leave a mess?

Tidy work is part of the job. Nearby surfaces are protected, and we clear up when we’re done.

Landlords, agents and businesses in White City

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, what’s needed and the access arrangements and we’ll give you a quote.

From a single let to a portfolio, the work is the same standard: the old material taken out, careful preparation and a 12-month guarantee.

How it works

On the day, we look over the joints with you first, so you know exactly what we are doing. Surfaces next to the work are protected before work begins. The work normally takes a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen. In White City, flats, stairs and shared entrances are part of the routine. If the building has a concierge, managing agent or access rules, tell us when you book.

  1. We protect the area and cut out all of the old sealant, including the film left on the tiles.
  2. The joint is cleaned, degreased and treated for mould.
  3. Once it’s dry, any bath is filled so the bead is laid with it at its heaviest.
  4. New anti-fungal silicone goes on in a colour to suit and is tooled to a clean finish.
  5. We tidy up and give you the cure time, usually around 24 hours.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any sign-in or site rules at work premises
  • Tell us about access, such as stairs, a lift or high-level joints
  • Tell us if parking is tricky

When something else is needed

Sealant isn’t the answer to every problem, and we’d rather say so up front. Sealant will not put right:

  • Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
  • Movement from a bath with loose feet or no proper support
  • A cracked shower tray or bath (that needs repair or replacement)

Not sure which it is? You can phone 0345 464 0079 or drop us an email and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

What we seal

  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & upstands
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Sinks & splashbacks
  • Baths

How to look after the new joints

Looking after new joints is easy:

  • Give the silicone its full cure time
  • Clean with a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth
  • Keep scourers and sharp tools away from the bead
  • Keep bottles off the sealant line

Good ventilation does more than any cleaner. Run the extractor fan during and after a shower, so the silicone gets a chance to dry.

Each shower pushes a little more water through a failed joint. Over time that water reaches floors, walls and ceilings. Early resealing closes the gap before damage is done.

DIY sealant or a professional job?

The difference is mostly in the preparation and the product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is chosen for how the joint moves and where it is.

Some jobs are best left to a professional: work at height, external movement joints, fire-rated sealant and large areas need the right product, the right access and the right method.

What the job involves on each surface

Sinks & splashbacks

Where a splashback meets the worktop, there’s a joint that catches every splash. It’s resealed in white, clear or a colour to suit.

Wet rooms

Wet room floors move slightly as they’re used, so the corners need a flexible seal, not grout. Cracked grout in a corner can be cut out and replaced with silicone.

Why deal with it now?

A quick bead over the top of the old one might look better for a while, but it cannot stick to what’s underneath. It lifts, traps water and grows mould behind it. Converted houses in London often have a bathroom above someone else’s living room, so a small leak from tired sealant can mean a neighbour’s ceiling and a lot of disruption. Dealing with it early is far simpler for homes in White City.

There are no prices on our website, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a quick quote, please call 0345 464 0079 or email us and we’ll talk you through it.

Bathrooms and kitchens in White City

There are hotels and other places to stay in and around White City. Hotel bathrooms are part of our work as well as homes, and can be done room by room. London has a lot of flats and conversions, and a failed shower or bath seal in one can show up on the ceiling below, so tired sealant is best dealt with early.

If you let a flat or house near Shepherds Bush station, mouldy sealant is one of the first things a new tenant notices, so it’s worth renewing between lets. Homes close to St Michael and St George include some older properties, and bathrooms in older houses have often been refitted more than once, with sealant laid over sealant.
