Bathroom resealing in Poundsbridge, done properly
Resealing is a small job that makes a big difference. Mouldy silicone makes even a new bathroom look neglected, and a clean white or clear joint fixes it quickly. It also seals the gaps that let water behind the bath. Typical jobs include failed sealant on the screen profile and lumpy, uneven sealant from a DIY attempt, on shower trays & enclosures, basins & vanity units and wet rooms.
In a village or hamlet like Poundsbridge, homes are often older cottages and farmhouses alongside a few newer houses. Older walls and timber floors can move a little, and cracked grout and split sealant are often the first signs.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by our 12-month guarantee.

How we quote for bathroom resealing
We don’t publish a price list. The quote depends on:
- The number of rooms or windows
- The number and length of the joints
- How much old sealant there is and how hard it is to remove
- Working hours on commercial sites
The cost depends on the size of the job, how hard the old material is to remove and how easy the joints are to reach. You’ll have a clear quote before any work starts.
Asking for a quote
Photos by email are helpful but not essential. Try to tell us:
- What the problem is, such as mould, gaps, leaks or cracking
- The rough size of the job
- Access, such as stairs, a lift or height
- A few pictures by email, if you can
Getting a quote is simple: let us know what needs doing and where. Photos by email help us understand the job.
How it works
You don’t need to clear the whole room or building before we come, only the area right around the joints. We protect the rest, and the work takes a couple of hours for one bath or shower, or most of a day for a full bathroom and kitchen in most cases. Somewhere as small as Poundsbridge, access is often the only tricky part. For outside work, also let us know about exposed walls and any outbuildings involved.
- First, each joint is checked for movement and signs of water.
- The old silicone is cut out completely, along with the film it leaves on the tiles.
- Joints are degreased and any mould is treated.
- When the joint is dry, and a bath has been filled with water, the new silicone goes on.
- We tool the bead to a neat finish and give you the cure time, usually around 24 hours.
Before we arrive
- Mention any leaks or damp you’ve noticed
- Let us know about earlier repairs to the joints
- Tell us about access, such as stairs, a lift or high-level joints

Questions from Poundsbridge
Do you work for landlords with property near Ashurst Kent station?
Yes. We work for letting agents and landlords as well as homeowners, and several properties can be quoted together. Just ring 0345 464 0079 or email us with the address and what needs doing, and we will give you a clear quote.
Do you cover smaller places like Poundsbridge?
Yes, we do. Our work covers London and the South East, from towns to the smallest places. Longer journeys are simply planned in advance.
When can I use the bath or shower again?
The surface skins over fairly quickly, but the bead needs longer to cure right through. Keep water off it for around 24 hours, or as long as we advise for that product.
Do you do kitchens as well as bathrooms?
Yes. The old sealant is cut out and the joint degreased, because cooking grease stops silicone sticking, then a colour-matched bead is laid.
Do you take out the old sealant first?
Yes. All of the old material is cut out and the joint cleaned before resealing.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. We’re fully insured.
My sealant has gone black. Can you sort it?
Yes. Once mould has grown into the silicone, it usually cannot be cleaned out for good, so we cut it out, treat the joint and reseal with anti-fungal silicone.
Where are you based?
Our base is in Crawley, West Sussex, and we cover South East England, London and all of Scotland.
Poundsbridge homes and their sealant
Hard water is the norm across most of the South East, which leaves limescale on sealant, grout and fittings.
Letting a property close to Ashurst Kent station? Then fresh sealant around the bath, shower and sink between tenancies helps a property present well and keeps leaks at bay. Schools such as Speldhurst Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School are buildings too, and we reseal washrooms and kitchens in schools and businesses as well as homes. For an older house near a landmark such as All Souls Chapel, older homes can move a little, which is hard on rigid grout and tired sealant.

The closest station to Poundsbridge is Ashurst Kent station, about 2.8 miles south-west of the centre. Why deal with it now?
Leaving a split or mouldy bead only stores up trouble. Once water is behind the bath, it can reach floorboards, panels and the ceiling underneath, turning a small job into a building repair. Where a wall is exposed, as many are in small places like Poundsbridge, wind-driven rain gets into any failed joint, and damp in older walls is slow to dry out.

DIY versus a professional finish
The difference is mostly in the preparation and the product. We take joints back to clean, dry surfaces, and the sealant is matched to the joint and its conditions, and the work is guaranteed for a year.
Overfilling a joint is a classic DIY mistake. A thick, smeared bead looks untidy and doesn’t move well, and getting the depth right matters as much as the look.
Landlord and commercial work in Poundsbridge
We also work for businesses, from offices to washrooms and kitchens. For commercial premises, we can talk through working times when we quote.
Failed sealant is one of the commonest items on a check-out report, and it’s easy to sort out between tenants. Several properties can be quoted together.
Looking after it afterwards
After the cure time, these simple habits help:
- Open a window or run the fan so the room dries
- Wipe the sealant dry after showering
- Clean with a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth
- Let new sealant cure fully before it gets wet
Treat the new bead gently when you clean: a mild bathroom cleaner and a soft cloth is enough. Avoid scouring pads and anything sharp, because a damaged bead gives mould a foothold.
Watch for the early signs: lifting ends, gaps, dark shadows under the bead or a stain downstairs. If you spot one, it’s time to reseal.
What sealant work can’t fix
It helps to know what we cannot do:
- Water coming from the plumbing rather than the joint
- Damage behind the tiles that needs a tiler
- Cracked or missing grout between tiles (that’s regrouting)
Not sure which it is? You can phone 0345 464 0079 or send us an email and we will tell you honestly.
